Best food in Pasadena for a high-end, food forward experience.

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Capital City Crowns Brunch, and let me say, what an experience! This speakeasy-style restaurant created the perfect vibe for honoring some of Baton Rouge's most powerful, successful women. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere struck the ideal balance between intimate privacy and vibrant networking energy. Whether you came to celebrate, connect, or simply indulge, Soul Brunch LA delivered on every level. Now, let’s talk food. One word: phenomenal. Each dish was prepared to perfection, with comforting and elevated flavors. Honestly, any one of the dishes could have been the star of the show. Paired with soulful entertainment and warm, attentive service, the entire experience was a tribute to excellence in every form. Soul Brunch LA didn’t just host an event. They curated a moment. A moment that celebrated sisterhood, success, and soul. I’m already looking forward to the next one.

We were all party of 3 and stay near the window. Our server Kevin was GREAT! He periodically checked in to make sure we were doing OK and made sure our table was cleared. Amongst us, we had the mac and cheese, biscuits, fries seasoned with cajun and furikake, and shrimp & grits. Everything was delicious! The mac and cheese by far took the "favorite" award. I had the Gumbo Ramen and it was good. My only suggestion would be to find a balance of seasoning and broth. It was a bit salty for my preference but I would definitely recommend for anyone to try it. We all had around of "So fresh, So Clean" (actually 3 arounds) and two arounds of "Spicy Honey". They drinks were yummy and not over powering of alcohol. Thanks for having us!
