Best Contemporary French American Restaurants in The Castro

As always, Gary Danko excels at outstanding service, delicious food and classic atmosphere. It’s my go to restaurant for any occasion. The flexibility of accommodating my special diet requests was beyond my expectations. We LOVE Gary Danko!!

We went two nights in a row ! The salmon 🍣 was amazing we had it both times ! The food and service was amazing! I highly recommend this place to friends and will return when I’m back in sf ! And the view is wonderful as well!

It was my first time dining at this restaurant. I seats like to support local businesses. It’s a cozy and authentic French bistro. The pre-fix menu provides a wide selection at a very reasonable price. The staff were very attentive and nice. The beef entree was kind of too salty. Other than that, every dish was good. Loved the Chouchou mussels. The mango panna cotta was delicious. Parking is not too easy near that area, but still ok on the nearby streets. Too bad that guests cannot park at the parking lot next to it as they are reserved for SFMTA at all hours. Overall, I enjoyed dining at this place. Thank you for the complimentary birthday ice cream! It’s a neighborhood gem in the Forest Hill/Sunset neighbor. Will visit again!
