Best Caribbean Restaurants in York University Heights

What a great experience for Jamaican cuisine. The recommendations of our server were perfect!

Our party of four loved everything at this place. I was skeptical at first reading the odd bad review about lack of flavor, but I can confirm that this was not the case in our situation. Between the four of us, we tried the pork belly tacos, the shrimp and the cornbread for starters and everything was really good. The pork belly had a proper crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside, the tostada-esque tortilla it was served on with the garnish made it really yummy. The shrimp was really good. The cornbread was dynamite! We also shared our mains, the fried Chicken was 10 out of 10, a wonderfully crisp coating with a very juicy inside. I got the lamb and it tasted like something that I would get at an uncle's house. The lamb was tender and cooked just right, and the curry tasted like home cooking. They didn't go too adventurous with the carb with this dish, the paratha tasted like a properly made Shana paratha with the right amount of flake to bring the meal home. One of our party got the day's special beef short rib, and while it was tasty it was probably my least favorite item, because I'm obsessed with kalbi short rib and was expecting that, and it's not the dish's fault that it just wasn't. It was a full house, but they were ready for us, it was the hottest day of the year, and everyone was working their butt off to make sure we had cold water at all times and repeat check-ins to make sure we were all doing well. I was expecting at least something to not be as good as it all was but they failed to disappoint. I will be back, I will try the braised beef next time and a few of the other items that we didn't have room to try today. Thank you for that great experience!

Had dinner here last night for our wedding anniversary and it was honestly such a great experience. The vibe was perfect—super cozy and welcoming, and the music was at just the right volume. The food was so good! Every dish we had was full of flavour and really well done. Our server (I wish I remembered her name—she had a full sleeve of tattoos on her right arm) was amazing. So sweet, really professional, and just made the whole night feel special. She made us feel really taken care of, which meant a lot since we were celebrating. We left feeling full and happy, and we’ll definitely be back. Can’t recommend Miss Likklemore's enough!!!!

Great venue, Great Service, Great Food, Great sound. There was nothing about this place (1st time) that my wife and I can say was below a 10. Jeff-Thornhill, Ontario.
