Best Cafés in Surry Hills

If you are there at peak lunch time be prepared as busy and noisy but go half hour later and excellent. We timed it well and food was great for a little business lunch.

Excellent service, superb food, competitively priced, well patronised (line-up even!), well worth reserving in advance. Make sure to try Jesse's pancakes -- the bast Canadian pancakes this side of the Pacific.

From the moment we arrived, the dining experience was excellent. We were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of tables, setting the tone for a relaxed and thoughtful service. The staff were incredibly attentive—offering great recommendations and helpful guidance on how best to enjoy the dishes, including wait times. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and clearly the result of a well-crafted menu. We shared the ribeye along with the wedges, and it was more than enough for two, especially when paired with a couple of small plates. A special shout-out to Arthur, who made our visit even more enjoyable. He checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed and added a friendly touch with his conversation throughout the meal. We’ll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu. We ordered coffees which were great and breakfast eggs benedict which were lovely, but the shukshuka was not good, It was not thick enough and it was very dry and overcooked. The flavour was good but should not have been served. It could have been a one off, but I would go back and try again if i was in the area.
