This hidden gem, a short walk from London Bridge, is London’s first real wine bar opened in 1965 by John Davy trading as a Free Vintner.     Great place, wonderfull experience. The food was well prepared, a joy for the eyes and a pleasure to eat. The staff was great, in particular Teo, the waitress who mostly looked after us. The all team was great. Lovely place with views on St. Paul from across the river. My wife spotter a table she prefered even better at the corner, Teo checked out for us and allowed us to move to that one. We jad an afternoon tea, mine was a Classical while my wife went for the Cowboy Tea, this way we shared and had an evdn greater variaty,.mind that there is already plenty for each. My wife finally experienced scones that she liked. Bith sweet and savoury. We were pleasently full at the end, really happy and are looking forward to visit again. The price is more than adequate for London and thr food generous. Quality could be no better, all was prepared beautifully, been origonally from Milan I tend yo be a little difficult on these things, some people.may get what I mean, but I was left with only feelings of appreciation and fully satisfied. Rarely a placa gives a full round positive impression. I really enjoued that the service was accurate and friendly at the same time. Highly recommended and we will visit again.
