Always a great experience at Eastern Standard! And it is so nice to have the option to make a reservation even on busy game nights. Highly recommend!

Vee Vee is back! While many, including some local food critics, embraced the Black Cat menu of the last year we did not. The current menu carries over some of the seafood shift of that period (oysters in two versions, lobster roll), and holds onto several of the old standbys (crispy shiitakes, gorditas, butterscotch pudding) it includes some new takes (wedge salad, cast iron mac & cheese, some new sides). We went with the mushrooms, then tuna and cod entrees, and finished with the pudding and were not disappointed. As always the wine and beer offerings were well chosen by owner and barkeep Dan. Kristen was inviting and led the excellent service team. The outdoor patio is one of the best in Boston (altho it was oddly quite noisy on our visit) Let's hope they will continue to thrive in these tough times.

Group dinner. Good service. Nice offering. Reasonably priced wine list.

We had Salmon and Duck l'orange. While the salmon was very good, the duck had some odd brown sauce that had no hint of orange. We order Profiteroles but the chocolate sauce is cold and thin -- not at all what it used to be. The kitchen and the bar need better training.

Food and presentation terrific. Way understaffed. Our meals took over an hour to be served. Courteous staff needs some more training and more help.
