Best Bistros in Ilford

I'm a big fan of the Cote experience, especially their price fixe menus which are exceptional value and are regularly refreshed so you can't get bored. St Katherine's Dock is a favourite venue with an outside table looking across the marina. For starter I had the recently introduced toasted brioche rarebit, comte cheese topped with a wonderfully runny poached egg - fantastic - followed by the upgraded 8oz sirloin steak and frites, cooked to perfection, washed down with a great value bottle of Muscadet. Very minor criticism - the blueberry financier was flat and overbaked but still tasty. Cote continues to deliver great taste and value in good locations with wonderful staff.

Lovely space, super relaxed to hang out in. Wine selection is good and interesting - I'm not a wine person but the staff were super helpful and what I had was really good! Food is bright and summery. Would recommend to pals.

The usual great dining experience. Extra shout out for the prix fixe. Great moules provencale and their minute steak and chips remains a joy. If dining late do watch out for last orders about 10.00pm (ask the staff) as their licence requires them to stop service early cos of local residents. If going to a show at the Barbican it’s good to book on Open Table.

Food was incredible and our waiter was great. Would go back in a heartbeat!
