We were given a voucher for Christmas to dine at Cheals and what a lovely gift. We dined there today on the set menu and enjoyed every mouthful. The food, service and ambiance was perfect and will be going again. Do not expect large portions but the flavours make the experience rewarding . Lovely - thanks to all the staff xx Mr & Mrs Fullard

We were a group of 4 friends celebrating a birthday. We particularly enjoyed the friendly staff who made us feel welcome from the outset. Special mention to Alex and Charlotte who looked after us serving drinks and food. The food we felt was excellent especially taking into account the limited space in the kitchens on the boat. My chicken was so succulent and tasty. Would highly recommend the dining experience on The Countess

Not been here for many years. Belated birthday Sunday lunch with a friend. Only us in the Bistro at 13.00, it got busier from 14.0. Excellent choice of help yourself starters called Market Table great idea. Then it's either Roast Beef or Chicken for main with lots of vegetables. Good wine list but expensive. I have booked again.

Excellent service. Very personable service from receptionist and from restaurant Nafiza who was efficient and friendly. Food was superb, fresh and cooked beautifully. The restaurant and bar and other facilities are superb. However the reason for 3 stars for ambience is the restaurant lighting was too bright and there should be some background music. The conversation of others was very audible. Low level music does help mask conversations and more so forces people to talk quieter. The lighting didn’t help as it was on full brightness level so it’s wasn't relaxed and other guests thought they were at home and were talking very loud. I hope this can be remedied as this is very minor suggestion but will transform the restaurant. We will definitely be coming back.
