It's one of the best French bistros I know (as good as Bouchon or Bistro Jeanty). It excels in pastry (both savory and sweet). I can only imagine the amount of butter used. The onion tart and duck pâté baked in a homemade, thick pastry crust are superb. I crave the beef cheeks with delicate onions and a Robuchon-style mashed potato. This is the sister restaurant of O' by Claude Le Tohic, which is probably all you need to know to get you to go.

A perfect spot for our anniversary dinner. We didn’t want “break the bank”. We want romantic, great food, service and value. Check! Check! Check! Check!

This is the quintessential neighborhood restaurant, casual, comfortable, reasonably priced. I had perfectly cooked grilled shrimp added to a lovely salad. The chicken Marsala was generous and also perfectly prepared.

We had dinner here for the first time on our visit to San Francisco from Southern California and loved our experience. The food was absolutely delicious. The beef tartare and the cassoulet were the best we’d ever had. The restaurant itself was spacious and bright, not like other French restaurants in SF. There was also an accordionist who played traditional French favorites the entire evening. We highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely go back the next time we’re in SF.

Absolutely loved our meal at O’ by Claude Le Tohic. Food was great and the wine pairing was excellent! Can’t fault anything. Bread’s were outstanding! I could have eaten the whole tray!

Karina was AMAZING. Wine was delicious and very refreshing. Tuna tartare & ravioli were delicious and oysters were so fresh! It’s our 3rd or 4th time here and it never disappoints. Props to the Chef and Karina! And thank you for having us so late, it felt like a private dinner. We will see you soon!

Always a great experience. Delicious food , school night menu is a bargain. Either appetizer and entree or entree and dessert for $40. Had the pear, endive and brie salad and the petrale sole. Both were superb. Best fries in the city! The owner and staff ate wonderful and charming which adds to a great experience

Recently had an early dinner here after a matinee at SF Jazz. We’ve been here a number of times before, and the food and cocktails are always great. This last visit was no exception. We started with one of our faves, the Salade Lyonnaise, and went on to scallops (perfectly cooked — still slightly cool in the center) and petrale sole (crispy and delicious, served with a showering of matchstick potatoes). We finished up with a couple of cheeses and a glass of tokaji. I don’t think we’ve had cheeses here before — otherwise I’d have remembered that they’re plated separately, with their own accompaniments. It was a LOT of food, but every bite was fantastic and the tokaji was the perfect thing to sip with the cheese. Already looking forward to our next visit!
