Cucina Enoteca - Del Mar
Service started ok but quickly stopped after ordering main dishes. It really seemed like they were trying to kick us out quickly. We had invited people that were visiting from out of town and it was embarassing. Not sure if coming back.
This was our first time at this location, we usually go to Cucina Urbana. Our experience was just OK, we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation and the staff was not attentive. The food was excellent, as always, but it took a very long time to be served.
I’ve been coming fir the last 8 years and is always a great experience. One of my favorites and take family and friends when they are in town.
Great food and atmosphere. Perfect night for my daughter's birthday dinner.
Met a friend to catch up.
Sat at the bar, watched the World Series and Vinny took excellent care of us!
Went for their pizza. Their pizza is usually great and they did not disappoint. They were having pizza month and had special pizzas. Terrific.
Service - outstanding, food - delicious, wine selection - beautiful!
I highly recommend this restaurant. The only downside is that the main dining room is very noisy. If you have hearing problems at all or want a more intimate conversation ask to be seated in the back behind the bar area, it's not quite as noisy.
The food and service were both five star, but be warned that it is very loud. Almost impossible to talk to others in your party. I will return with just my husband and myself and sit in the bar area which seemed to be slightly quieter. I don’t recommend it for four or more people if you want to converse. Again the food is outstanding.
Have eaten here many times and brought some family who had never been. We ordered a bunch of stuff as people had different tastes/restrictions and everyone loved it all! Can’t recommend enough the burnt Brussels, chopped salad, fried squash blossom, truffle pizza and truffle fries. Plus so much more. Great wine and cocktail selection too. Always have had great service and food. Wonderful and fun setting.
The food and service were first rate. So was the decor. Seating was comfortable, but tables were crammed so close together that the noise level and lack of privacy took away from the experience. Having a conversation meant raising your voice or just resigning yourself to hearing all the conversations around you as everyone else raised their voices to be heard!
One of my favorite restaurants in North County. Consistently fresh and delicious. We had fried squash blossoms, beet+stone fruit salad, pepperoni pizza, and the creste/seafood pasta. The salad was not impressive but everything else was fantastic. Can't wait to go back.
Took a friend to dinner for her birthday; the staff was really nice and went to great lengths to make her feel that it was a celebration for her. As usual, the food was wonderful; well prepared, nicely seasoned and served with care. One of my favorite spots.
Beautiful dining experience!! Stardust cocktail, charcuterie board, pizzas, and dessert were all amazing. So glad we tried it and we will be back.
What a delicious anniversary dinner we had. Our waiter was excellent and made great suggestions when I asked him. (Colin) The complimentary sparkling wine was also delicious. Can't wait to come back.
We celebrated our daughter's birthday at this restaurant because we love the Cucina Urbana in Banker's Hill, but we wanted a bit of a change. The food was delicious and we were very satisfied with the selections offered during restaurant week. The service was great, although he seemed to be covering a lot of tables simultaneously. Maybe that was the reason that he forgot to put a BD candle in the dessert. We would definitely consider going there again.
I took my wife here on her birthday and prepped them by arriving in the afternoon prior to our 8pm reservation and requesting a corner table I was aware that the restaurant will not reserve a specific table for you but was assured by the hostess that they would do their best to accommodate us (We regularly dine at the restaurant). She made a point of making a note in our reservation about the table request. When we arrived at 8pm, a very young looking woman promptly escorted to a miserable table in the middle of two very loud larger parties. I protested and reminded her of my request for a better table. We stood and waited for 25 min in the front of the restaurant before a manager came over, apologized and escorted us to a corner table.
This is not the first time that the front desk service/hostess service has been less than adequate. Servers are usually better once you are at a table. My wife was sufficiently upset that I suspect we may not return.
Amazing food and great way to cook the octopus! we loved the complementary wine for our anniversary! we will return soon again!
Fantastic meal, great service, energetic ambiance. We had an awesome time.
Not very busy for the noon time lunch but a very nice looking inside building. Food was good, not terrific for the price. My chicken salad lacked a dressing to dress the salad. Not sure what it was but it needed flavor. Tomato soup was good and the margarita pizza fine. Not a must return place for me.
The food was very good, noise level at dinner was quite high, and, unfortunately, our waiter was very poor. He had a sour attitude and was not at all attentive. We were very disappointed, because we thought that the food was very good.
Our corner table (#22) was great! Interesting menu for Restaurant Week. Thanks.
Great food! Our server was awesome as well. Loved the pastas and the amazing wine selection.
We’ve eaten here many times but this time the service was slow and the noise level made it impossible to hear conversations at a table of six. We will go back but not on a Saturday nite.
Food was very good, but the restaurant is noisy!
The four of us ordered different items and everyone was
happy with their food!
We had an enjoyable evening. The waiter made great suggestions and was very attentive.
Pleasant surprise. Ambiance and food fantastic. We had tempura Squash blossoms stuffed with lemon ricotta as appetizer and Tagliatelle Bolognese as entree. You can bring your own wine with $25 corkage fee. Wine list is very good and reasonably priced. Food reasonably priced and ample servings. We split.
Service was excellent. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere, even on a Tuesday when we went. Food is always good. Service was friendly but slow. Was perfect for out of town guests staying in the area. Would recommend.
The food and service was amazing! I had been their for happy hour many times and I'm so glad I finally went here for lunch.
Fabulous food and service. Thanks to our server Ryan's recommendations and excellent service!
The servers were great. Tessa was spot on and so were her coworkers. Always enjoy the ambiance too!
Way too noisy. It made our dinner UN-relaxing
We’ve eaten here many times but the noise level this time was irritating rather than energetic
Probably won’t be back any time soon.
The food is always delicious and service always good! Love that gluten free bucatini.
Party of 6, celebrating Mom’s birthday. Chef Matt Richman and his team excelled on every front. The food is so fresh and cooked to perfection. The salad special was a fig with toasted hazelnuts - the pasta special was a clam and mussel linguine - both were seasoned well and we enjoyed them very much. The other dishes we ordered were also excellent — the tagliatelle bolognese, squash blossoms, charred cauliflower, fries — all on point. The desserts were also decadent and divine. It was a great evening out. Mom was happy and well fed. Thank you to the whole team at Cucina Enoteca and Chef Matt for looking after us. And a shout out to Justin, our server, who took great care of us.
Food was excellent as always, especially the salted caramel budino! Service from Kevin was also exceptional. We’ve never had anything short of a great experience at Cucina.
We brought our grandchildren, ages 6 & 8 to make their own pizza. We had seen on a different occasion another family with children making them. They had such a fun time and all the employees were so kind to them. It occupied their time and we had a wonderful evening.
Really interesting interior design - great vibe - much better than average food - very helpful service - good value. Probably better with bigger party - which they cater for with their big family dishes. However, seniors in the group may find it very loud.
Great choice. We came on a very busy Friday. Service was less than normal due to the crowds but that was understandable. We love this place, food is great. We will continue to go there
My friend and I love this restaurant. We had our favorite roasted chicken (main entree) and it was bland and chewy. This is the second time the dish hasn’t come out right. It used to be our FAVORITE one of the reason we keep going back but I think it’s time to take it off the menu.
Always a great meal and exceptional service.
The service from front desk to table is below average. The waiter did not care and did not know any of the dishes. His enthusiasm level was very low, borderline unpleasant. Also, the dessert offering are very limited and the ice-cream was pretty bad making a bad ending to a meal that was pretty good otherwise.
