Wednesday Sunset Series on the Veranda 6-9p. Wood fired pizza, outstanding small bites. Great evening, of food, music, service and of course wine. What more is there to say?

We had another outstanding visit to Cross Keys. This time we had brunch on their newly constructed terrace. The views, the food, and the service (Thank you, Lizzy!) were fantastic!

The food was very disappointing. It seems like they may have replace the chef. In addition, they tried to charge my future son-in-law $250 to propose to my daughter on site. That, combined with a serious dip in the overall experience from our last time there has made us decide to terminate our membership.

Such a disappointment. So excited to be at this lovely venue on our anniversary but that faded quickly. All of the wait staff was super sweet, friendly, and accommodating. No complaints about them. The issue was the food. The potatoes which accompanied my eggs benedict looked as if they had been reheated numerous times - although they were quite cold. They brought out a caesar salad for my husband which was quite literally spoiled. The romaine looked as if it had been fished out of the sink drain. Digusting. When we sent it back and just asked for it to be taken off the bill, the manager told the waitress they could not do that. In what universe? She also refused to come speak with us - which correct me if I am wrong is her literal job. We will never return there again.

With the food, we are sorry to hear that the meals you received did not meet our typical standards. The potatoes are cooked fresh every Sunday morning before service, so why your specific dish came out cold will be addressed with the head Chef. The romaine that is used for our salads is also locally sourced and is delivered fresh every Friday. Lastly, it looks like there was a miscommunication with your server about speaking with a manager, as a manager was never notified of your issues. Customer service is the most important thing to us and a manager would have gladly spoken with your table to come to a resolution. Again we apologize for the experience you had and we hope you return soon.

It was a group of seven. Sorority sister yearly retreat. We did the wine tour first with RJ and she was wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. She was attentive to all our needs. I would not want to do a tour with anyone else. 🙂And the WINE was everything! We had dinner with live music afterwards. When I tell you we had a fabulous time, WE HAD A FABULOUS time. The vineyard is gorgeous!! The views are amazing. Beautiful property. I will definitely be back!

We celebrated our JMU graduate here for dinner this year. I highly recommend this as a graduation dinner venue. I’m not much for buffets in general, but the food was surprisingly outstanding! Our server was such a lovely young man who couldn’t do enough to make sure we felt special. Plus, the wine was surprisingly good. We ended up buying several bottles to take home. Overall, a lovely experience!
