Too busy on 12/26 lunch, so needed to wait more than one hour
This place is one of very few...maybe 3....quality restaurants in the Redondo village. It is fresh & always good. I've never had a bad meal here & I've been coming here since it opened. Staff is always pleasant & food is fantastic
Food was good and service was quick and friendly. Like another reviewer said they did not check off my reservation just said have a seat. I had the all you can eat mussels Tuesday special, the marine and dijon sauces were good, the white wine sauce had too much tarragon. My wife had the marine crepe which she liked the filling but the crepe itself was chewy and tasteless.
They are NO LONGER USING OPEN TANLE and did not have our booking. They were kind enough to accommodate us on the busiest night of the holiday season down there. However you need to update the app so no one else has this problem again
We should have left when we arrived and the room was full of smoke. They seated us right away but we waited for another 10-15 minutes before they took our drink order and then another 10-15 minutes before they brought our drinks. After 45 minutes, we noticed that people who had been seated much longer than us were complaining about having not received their food or that some people at their table had not received their food. At that point, it was still smoky and we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. NO FOOD :(
The fillet mignon risotto had absolutely no flavor. The poor service was not the fault of the employees, the management did not properly staff the restaurant. We will not be returning.
FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND DELICIOUS AND OUR SERVER WAS WONDERFUL!!!
After over 15 years and multiple occasions, the 2 of us finally hit a "wrong decision, wrong day, wrong restaurant ".
Creme Redondo franchise is usually solid particularly on Tues. for all you can eat moules et frittes.in this instance we sat down at around 6 to an almost full Mon night crowd . Red flag. Ordered clam chowder, escargot, trout salad and veal dinner special.
Then noticed not one table had any food. All drinks no food.
Wait staff , albeit helpful, did not inform us of being down one chef and later equipment problem In kitchen. 25 mins after ordering, clam chowder ( small puréed cup/bowl with minced clams potato carrot and fontina cheese- very good but small - and lukewarm escargot -excess parsley arrived not good.
35 mins later no next course. A few seated tables walked out. We almost did. Limited kitchen output. We had great conversation but no food - no bread offer- no request for additional beverage. Service crippled
Finally Asked waiter to bring salad and cancelled special - seemed to be the problem. Server accommodated -trout salad came 3 mins. Brought a small dinner salad for me.Chef sent Veal out -13 mins later. Salad was very good with Trout at room temperature instead of slightly hard and cold on orevious occasions.
No manager or lead on sight Now a franchise and run like one.
Proceed with caution here if service and customer care are important. Stick with vendome crepe and salad.
I read my menu selection VERY carefully for ingredients, and when served, I was surprised to see House dressing on my salmon salad. I tried to be polite and eat around it but was impossible. So, I ate the salmon and left the salad, which was a shame because it looked really good. Finally, I got the attention of someone who abruptly told me it was house dressing and looked at me like, so what else do you want to know? I said, I wasn't sure of the ingredients and he walked away. So, okay, fine, I was over it. I would take it home anyway and someone at home would probably want it. On the other side of the table, my son hated his crepe, said it wasn't fluffy, was overcooked, a weird shape, and no where near what is served in France. He didn't say anything, just ate it. Later, when I asked for a box for the full uneaten salad, the same guy said, well, do you want me to make you another one without dressing? Uh, yes, that would have been nice 15 minutes ago so I said, yes, of course, I would appreciate that. So, I took the new salad home and thoroughly enjoyed it later that evening. It would have been a complete waste of money if he didn't fix it or if no one at home wanted it. The personnel at this place seem to have lost that accommodating, friendly customer service tone. It seemed very weird, like they couldn't wait for you to order, eat and leave. I know people who adore this place. Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back unless someone had their heart set on going there. Maybe round 2 would be better. Maybe it was just a bad day, but wasn't a very welcoming feeling.
Went for lunch on Friday. The breakfast and lunch items have many French items including delicious crêpes, one which I opted for and my friend had eggs Benedict made perfectly and served with the most delicious potatoes gratin. The hollandaise sauce on the Benedict was the best I've tasted- light, thin and flavorful.
The wine list was a bit wanting but the Pinot Noir was a nice wine as was the one offering of Pinot Grigio. Service highly attentive and with a smile.
Without a doubt a true find.
Love the ambiance too. Very bistroish with 2/3 inside and 1/3 outside dining spilling into the sidewalk in the quaint Redondo area on Catalina St.
A delicious dinner with friends. We enjoyed a large glass of wine with our meals. All served quickly, fresh and hot.
The dessert crepes were terrific, the food was okay. Nothing to complain about but nothing to shout about. It was okay. Just okay.
Friendly place with good service. Very Good food. Recommended for friends, small groups.
We were there early for dinner so noise level was 0. Waiter was absolutely wonderful and very attentive. Food was as usual, perfect!
Always a great place to eat.
Tasty crepes, good service and nice outdoor tables are a great start to a lovely day!
Great place for couples or friends. French style food and crepes. My wife and I enjoyed the food and the evening. Staff was friendly with good recommendations.
Always an enjoyable experience: service, food, ambiance.
Food not bad, location nice, but apparently they disregard open table reservations and make you sign up with all the walk-ins. Service incredibly slow (about an hour to get our food, plus they finally brought bread basket after the food came out?) guess we caught them on a very off day.
Opens to sidewalk in Riviera Village. Nice ambiance, especially with French owners chatting away! They have All You Can Eat Mussels 1 night per week that I must try.
Soup to nuts, everything was sensational. Our server greeted us promptly after sitting and was extremely friendly and attentive and our food was delivered quickly and was cooked perfectly. My only regret is that we didn't get to sample more of their mouthwatering offerings because it was just two of us. My advice: Go with a group.
Truly a neighborhood gem. Food is good and service this time was GREAT!
I had the veggie scramble with egg whites which was delicious! The service was prompt and friendly.
We came for a later than usual dinner and found that it is always open until ten, which is nice. Our servers were very good, and my Crepe Marocain, with lamb sausage, was very good, as was my wife's seafood crepe. There is a very friendly atmosphere, and we will probably come back. The brunch menu liked really good.
Always love coming here for a delicious dinner with good portions.
We have been dining at Creme de la Crepe since it opened (maybe six years ago?). The menu has always been eclectic and the food excellent. It does get a little crowded on weekends (good for them!), so we prefer to dine there during the week.
A great place for late breakfast/lunch.
We've never been diappointed and we'll definitely be back.
Always a pleasure to treat myself here. Nice sit-down place to enjoy company or by oneself.
My husband and I are fans of the LA-area Creme de la Crepe franchise, with the RB location still our favorite. Their soups are wonderful; this time we enjoyed carrot soup served French style (with small sides of freshly made croutons and shredded cheese to add to the soup crock). Then each ordered a savory crepe for dessert (he, a sinful dulce-de-leche plus fresh mango; I, suzette). Their wines by the glass selection is very nice (the cotes du rhone was great). A great ambiance -- indoors and on the sidewalk terrace area -- with a single perfect rose and candlelight on every table, enhances the dining experience there. We highly recommend them!
Ordered the saint Pierre (salmon/crab crepe)... was so not good, it was too fishy & kinda dry..Bread & butter was prefered over it. Other then that the place was nice & quaint, service was good..
Other than the fact that they didn't seem to know how Opentable works it was a fine place.
the food was good, i'd definitely try their other crepes. Wed the Crepe Royale for dessert it was light and sweet. the place had a nice ambiance but service isn't that great, maybe because there were only 3 of them at 2:30 in the afternoon, and the third guy left around 3pm. The lady server also did not know what OPEN TABLE was when we checked in! Maybe we'll try their other branches.
