Craftsteak - MGM Grand Ratings and Reviews
Premium priced, but hit and miss on food and service. On the positive side, the steaks were very good, and it is a steakhouse so that counts for a lot. The wine service was also handled well by knowledgeable staff. But, the appetizers were unremarkable or worse. Caesar salad was just a pile of Romaine leaves with dressing on them (anchovies optional) - pretty plain. Lobster salad was not consistent with expectations and was graciously removed from the bill. Oddly, the scallops were seared only on one side. We asked about it and were told that they couldn't be seared on both sides or they would be overcooked. Bizarre, since lots of high end restaurants sear scallops on both sides. Surprisingly, for a steakhouse, they were out of the Prime New York Strip Loin, although we only found that out after we ordered them. Service was sometimes good. Our server got changed halfway through the meal. All in all, a mid-range dining experience at a premium price. Message to the management: if you want to charge top prices, every dining experience has to be top quality.
Loved the restaurant. It was not as stuffy as some other high end steakhouse restaurants. There were 5 of us and we had the short ribs which were so tender and delicious , chicken, the ribeye and two had filet mignons. All the steaks were perfectly cooked! The servers were fun and knew the menu items and wine well. The sides we had were fabulous potato purée , the cauliflower and the sautéed mushrooms. All were great ! For dessert we had the banana pudding and that was great too. All in all a wonderful night!
Food was average for a steak house but the service was horrible. Brought me a New York, then a Filet wham I ordered a ribeye. By the time the ribeye arrived there was no way I could send it back (because it was med-well when I ordered med-rare ) beacause the rest of my guests had already finished their dinner. To top it off the waiter brings the wrong tab to the table and insisted it was ours until I pointed out we did not order appetizers. Horrible experience, I wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone. There are way to many great steak houses in Vegas to put up with horrible service.
Go to Del Frisco’s, I have never been disappointed when I’ve gone there.
Amazing experience! Marvin, our waiter, was in town from a craft Nyc. All around excellent service. Food was amazing. I’ve been to many celebrity chef restaurant and this one actually delivered!! Flat iron- excellent. Scallops- excellent. Cocktails- excellent. All side- amazing!
Still my favorite restaurant anywhere. The sommelier, Troy, has an incredible wine list and knowledge of everything on it. The food remains exceptional, and our server, Mario, knows every bit of the menu, remembers my favorites from months before, and presents an incredible meal. Absolutely top-notch!
This was a special 60th birthday visit and our 7th or 8th time here. We had 2 female servers who came out of the gate rude and snarky with a chip on their shoulder before the bread came. We requested that they have nothing to do with serving us which management accommodated but they stood in the servers corner throwing us shade all night. So sad to have a what was supposed to be a lovely celebration stained by two unprofessionals in such a nice establishment. They need to go back to customer service class. .
I was a little disappointed with Craftsteak. The NY strip I had was average in flavor and texture. The sides were very good and the service was also good although our particular waiter didn't have a great knowledge of the product he was selling. The price is very high. Dinner for 2 without alcohol was over $250 with the tip.
Our party went to another "TV Chef's" restaurant and it was good, but too much marketing going on. Craft Steak was the best meal, with the best service we have ever experienced. The restaurant was warm and beautiful inside. We will be going back. The food was simple and delicious. We especially enjoyed the Hawaiian onions. The staff was very knowledgeable about what they were serving, professional yet available to answer questions about the food and the restaurants namesake. Highly recommend visiting Craftsteak.
I was most impressed by the service. Being from Wisconsin I was interested in the "New Fashioned" cocktail on the menu as we love our Old Fashioneds. I asked our server a question about how it was made and she wrote the entire ingredient list down for me so that I could re-create it if I wanted to - wow, that's impressive! Also, the manager found out we didn't have a fridge in our hotel room to keep the leftovers we had so she offered to keep our items in the restaurant fridge until 1am when she was going to personally leave for the night/morning. Now that's good service!!!
