Craftsteak - MGM Grand
While this famous steakhouse offers mainstays like Kobe beef, specialties also include veal, salmon, lobster, and farmer's market vegetables.
Server at the beginning was really attentive but slowly became disengaged from is as the meal went on. Rolls were amazing, and salad was great! We got the wagyu skirt steak as that is what was recommended as the best steak. It was chewy, inconsistent with flavors and chewiness, and not worth the price. We had really high expectations and were sadly disappointed.
Dinner with my team prior to our Worldwide Sales Mtg. Went out of the way to assure my diverse team they could accommodate their dining needs. Great selection of wine and steaks were phenomenal as always.
The service and ambiance were top notch. The steak and food were sub par. I have had a much better steak along with a full menu of vegetable, sides, etc.. that have been half the price and tasted better. It tasted as though everything was cooked in coconut oil. We had the fries, brussel sprouts, and broccoli. I personally thought that the broccoli was the best thing we had. I don't think I would eat here again, only because the flavor of the steak was not worth paying $70 for.
Overall wonderful experience. We were jut sat too close to another part of two. One gentleman talkeddeep and loud and it distracted from the experience we could have. I should have asked to move from the onset, but didn’t. Think host should have insight to alternate tables when possible.
The food is awesome and they surely know how to make good steak!
Best Steak in Vegas. Do the Waygu sampler it’s the best value too. 5 stars!
Food was excellent.............Service was very good. Highly recommend this restaurant.
When we are in Vegas we always eat here. !
Fantastic food and service.
I hosted a customer dinner at Craftsteak with high expectations based on reputation. I was neither disappointed nor overly impressed. The atmosphere was very good, probably the high point of the evening. I ordered the ribeye medium-well, which is my benchmark steak. It was well prepared, but the beef was a bit tough and fatty. Those who ordered the short ribs raved, and the bone in filet was probably the best of the bunch. My biggest disappointment was the service, specifically the attention level. I arrived 15 minutes early to check-in for a 6:00PM table, then it took 30 minutes to get seated. We spent the first 45 with drinks and wine before having to request that our waiter take our orders. Wine glasses sat empty while the waitstaff stood around chatting with one another. The sides--Brussels sprouts, fingerling potatoes, Yukon mashed potatoes and spinach--were all very good. All in all, a solid 4 star meal, but not memorable.
Need a category for Hostess stand: Hostess asked to tell her when party was here and we would be seated...6 reminders
-Girl who walked us back = Excellent
-Staff attending to table = Best of the Best!
-Food = Steak (cut/size/cooked to order) 5 Star, Sides = 5 Star, and Wine recommendation was spot on!
Great food and service.
Simply put, it was a disappointing meal given the hype and price point. Steaks were not cooked to order for my group. Two members of my dinner party, though they ordered same steak (ribeye 18oz); wildly different cuts of meat came out; one of the steaks was significantly smaller. Filet was over cooked. My dinner party and I all agreed we would not recommend Craftsteak nor dine there again when staying at MGM
I wish that I could recommend this restaurant. This was our big splurge dinner in Vegas. I was aware of the prices going in, so that was not unexpected. It was the intrusive service that ruined our meal. We had an early dinner at 6:30 so we could make an evening show. We had a team of three servers. Instead of enhancing the experience, we felt badgered and rushed out of the restaurant. I must have been asked to take my drink order three times in the first five minutes, the first time was before we had even touched the menu. I felt like the servers were up-selling times three. I also thought the woman offering to take a photo of us (for a price) was tacky. A first for me, a lovely meal ruined by service and ambience. We were out of there so fast my head was spinning.
Great ambiance - modern, yet quiet and romantic. My husband and I loved all of the food, from the salads we ordered to dessert. Steaks were tender and had nice flavor - my husband’s ribeye was DELICIOUS. Perfect texture and flavor. My filet was good, but not as flavorful as the ribeye (I get that a filet is leaner than a ribeye, and I usually prefer filet. I just mean the seasonings, cut and cooking method seemed better on the ribeye). Service was excellent - Elizabeth the hostess was very friendly and accommodating. All of the people who served us were great - Olga was outstanding. Would absolutely dine here again.
This is one of my husband's favorites but I have to say it has lost a little luster for me as a regular for so long. Still love the frisee salad and lobster bisque, the best. But, as a non-steak eater (usually), I find it a little boring for the entrees at this point. Service great as usual.
I was not that impressed with the food. The salad and soup was pretty good but it ended there. Service was excellent and the bar had a great selection.
Great restaurant with a very good bar seating. Service at the bar was very friendly and attentive but not too intrusive. It has more grown up ambiance compared to many flashy Vegas restaurants.
Fantastic meal in every way. The steaks were perfect and the atmosphere is very enjoyable. It’s a small touch but the Parker house rolls with sea salt on top was a great change up from the usual bread offerings at upscale steakhouses. I’d reccomend to anyone and was well worth the $ spent. Will definitely be back.
I ate here last year and loved it. Could not wait to share. The Ribeye was probably the worst we ever had. The staff was absolutely amazing though.
This was our favorite meal that we have had while in Vegas. The food was delicious and so was the service!
Great food, polite staff, beautiful decor, but they could have been more attentive on refilling water and larger pre-meal bread serving would have been better. Overall great place we would eat here again and steak cooked perfectly. dry aged 35+ days fabulous!
My wife and I ate at Craftsteak on the first night of our trip to Vegas for our 20th wedding anniversary. The atmosphere was great, the service was impeccable, and the cocktails were delicious; unfortunately, the food was good, but not great, which is unacceptable at the high price point. We decided on the Double R chef's menu in order to sample a variety of options. The shrimp cocktail and charcuterie (prosciutto) were very good, the warm frisee salad was very good but a bit overdressed, the caesar salad was rather bland and served as entire romaine leaves. The sides (heirloom cauliflower, broccoli di cicco, and yukon gold puree) were good, but unremarkable. Both steaks were properly cooked to medium rare and served with delicious sauces. The porterhouse was very good with an ample tenderloin. The bone-in ribeye had a wonderful crust, but was surprisingly chewy due to excessive connective tissue. The desserts (cinnamon monkey bread, mango passion and raspberry sorbet, and dulce de leche cheesecake) were very good, though we had no room left to do more than taste each. One final comment -- although it was a great assortment of dishes, this was far too much food for two people. We were uncomfortably stuffed and could not take any leftovers since we were headed directly to see Ka afterwards.
Dave was our waiter. He was excellent. This restaurant never disappoints EVER. I come to Vegas 6 times a year, and if I don’t eat at craftsteak I get cranky.
The Kobe beef skirt steak is THE BEST entree on the menu
But fair warning it is so tender, if you eat it medium-rare, order it medium. Otherwise it will be so soft and tender it might be like eating tartare
Have dined at Craftsteak several times and was family favorite until recent visit.Server "Marvin" was great BUT service changed to "Blue".Steaks were not prepared to request.Worst was sister's medium well ribeye which was rare twice then well done , dry, & inedible! Manager was involved in the affair which was useless.Service was slow. Still got charged for the abandoned inedible steak and was not even offered complimentary dessert!Good side dishes couldn't redeem experience.Definitely Not returning.Recommend Heritage @ Mirage--- same chef but exceptional dining
CraftSteak remains my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas. Exceptional service, amazing menu, impeccable wine and spirit list and a great location at the MGM Grand. Their sommelier, Troy, knows his inventory and does not move his patrons towards an expensive label if there is a higher quality, less expensive option. You cannot go wrong with Craftsteak.
Wow I expected the food and service to be good but better than I ever expected!! From the appetizer to the cappuccino and desert really just a fantastic meal in a fantastic atmosphere
The food was excellent and the staff was helpful and very attentive. We were not rushed at all. Only downside, and very minor, the unfinished vegetable and potato were put in the same container to go and tended to mix together.
It’s a high end steakhouse in Vegas, so you know you are going to pay a little bit more, but I had higher expectations to go with it. 6 of us dining, and we split 4 different steaks/cuts between us. We sent 2 back because they were cold - perfectly cooked, just cold, obviously left to sit too long before being served. Vegetables/sides were good too, but again should have been hotter, though not as cold as the meats. Our waiter was very friendly and even let us know it was ok to order a few steaks for the table and the kitchen could slice them for us to share. Steaks were good in the end, but for the money we paid, I have had better and expected more from MGM and Tom Collichio brands. Next time I’ll probably try Ruth’s Chris or one of the other renowned steakhouses on the strip.
Amazing food atmosphere and service!
Delightful meal with special attention to our time sensitive, theater-bound group. We enjoyed good and prompt service.
Chef's Selection is the way to go, we have had it a number of times and we have never been disappointed.
The dinner rolls are very good, salads very good, wagyu steak's are great, and be sure to save room for dessert because it will blow you away! We always get a few dinner rolls to go so we can make sliders using the leftover steak.
We dined here on New Year's Eve and this place happened to be one of my least favorite dining experiences I've ever had while in Vegas. I don't regularly write poor reviews; however, I felt that this was warranted. I'm a foodie from Texas, know steak well and regularly dine at renown steak houses throughout the country. I tried both the dry-aged bone-in prime NY strip and the dry-aged bone-in RR ranch ribeye. Both were perfectly cooked but unfortunately were bland, lacked flavor and seasoning and instantly made me thankful that my husband and I hadn't paid extra for the Wagyu. The lobster bisque was overly sweet and disappointing as well. I will say that the warm frisee salad and the brussel sprouts were excellent and were my saving grace as to me not leaving the restaurant starving. While the atmosphere had a nice vibe and the servers were very willing to accommodate requests, I recommend that you save your money and go elsewhere.
First time visiting Craftsteak. Food was delicious and service was amazing. We had 4 different people waiting on us at all times during the dinner but not intrusive. Prices are high but typical steak house high. You can bring your own wine in too and just pay a corking fee which helped us keep our bill down.
I booked our reservation at 7:30pm so we can catch a show by 8:30-9pm. We didn’t get sat until 8:20pm!!!!!!! We had no choice but to wait for our table because all of the other restaurants were fully booked. Imagine waiting at the bar and watching other guests being sat on time. What is the point in making a reservation?!?!?!
As far as actual dinner, we couldn’t really remember how the food was because we had to rush the order and all we could think about the entire experience was how much of the show we were missing, not to mention it was his birthday dinner, which I noted when I made the reservation.
Overall, the ambiance was terrible, the service definitely lacked because of the high volume. It was just a bunch of staff running around like chickens that made the atmosphere chaotic and uncomfortable for a fine dining restaurant. I am very disappointed that we chose this restaurant rather than the other 500 ones on the strip.
The service, food and surroundings were lovely, and our waiter was very attentive. It is a very busy time of year but we still felt that everyone was doing their absolute best to make sure everyone was happy.
Excellent steaks -- but need deep pockets --- our dinner for 3 people was 700 dollars with tax and tip --- Happy New Year!
Another solid experience at Craft. The only snafu on this visit was the 30 minute wait upon arrival for our reservation. It seemed many others who arrived after us, without reservations, were seated. The communication with the host stand was non-existent after multiple attempts of polite inquiries.
After the unnecessary wait, the service, food and environment were wonderful.
This was an exceptional dining experience, in every way. Although known for Wagyu/Kobe, we both had the Black Angus Filet Mignon, and it was a fantastic choice for me, as a medium-well preference. I simply cannot imagine that the wagyu is 2 (or 4) times better. But if you are looking for Wagyu, then I would definitely try it here. I had some of the best steak of my life. The broccoli was also delicious. We finished up with the monkey bread, which was sweet, but not too filling-a great end to a great dinner! As expected, it was pricey, but a wonderful night.
Craftsteak exceeded our expectations. We over ordered and over indulged, everything was amazing. The wine pairing suggestion was spot on too. Best of all was the ambiance, the background playlist music was a topic of conversation as well. Will absolutely return to Craftsteak and will recommend it to others.
