CP Restaurant and Lounge
CP did not honor our reservation. 45 minute wait, not good
Best Serrano Chicken in town. Great service
CP is our favorite Chinese restaurant. Although because of DoorDash we don’t go there as often we still order from there at least once a week. Being there however is a treat as the restaurant is spacious, the servers are attentive and the food is delicious! It is more than a Chinese restaurant as it has Sushi and burgers and a great bar. And the owners are always there and make us feel special for coming.
When we first walked in, it was not crowded at all. Maybe because it was a rainy Memorial Weekend. The restaurant/bar/nightclub was different then what I expected. To my surprise, the food was really good. We had soup, appetizers and main dishes. All were wonderful.
Sushi was very good. Service was attentive and overall we had a great time.
Very disappointing. Food was cold and tasted stale.
Waiter just microwaved food to heat up vs serving fresh new order.
Plates were dirty, staff was disorganized, food was bad quality. I asked for a Diet Coke 3 times and all 3 times I got regular coke and my fiancé is a type 1 diabetic. Panda Express is way better than this place. So disappointing
Good food and good value. Pretty quiet for lunch. Service was very good too, and our waiter was friendly and accomodating.
We have been going to this restaurant for several years now. We went here for Father's Day Dinner, had a 7pm reservation. We walked in @7pm and we were seated at the bar, our waiter Sarah was excellent, while we were waiting for our table to be cleared. We had drinks & appetizer at the bar. After being asked twice and it was 7:30, we were told that our table was ready. No one came in and give us a menu. We had to ask for the menu and got 1. It took 20 minutes to figure out who are waiter was, not attentive at all, but the food when it came, was really good. 3 Stars was for the food.
Our hostess, servers and food were wonderful. We met half way (we drive up from San Diego and our party met us in Newport Beach from Los Angeles) - what a great spot. The food was not greasy and very flavorful.
This was my first time at the restaurant. Overall they had a good selection on their menu. As I looked around at other peoples dishes everything look very tasty. I had a good meal and I would return to this restaurant again.
Excellent service as always and very good food in a quiet, warm atmosphere
The food is very tasty and flavors are there. Service was very slow and confusing. But in the end it was ok. The Pekin duck is beautiful and they bring it to the table for you to see it. Then they take it to the kitchen to chop it up in small pieces and I was hoping they will bring it to the table so you can make your own pancake bite. But they decided we all 4 will have it and already brought to the table divided in 2 pancake plates for 4. Ok only 2 wanted to have the duck but it was ok. Again flavor was there.
So yes I can recommend the place but they have to improve the service ad communication with the guests. One drink was wrong and the shrimp rice came after we finished everything.
I live in the area, but had never heard of this place, we went with our friends and we all loved the food and thought the prices were fair and the service was great, super easy to find. we would all recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Sushi or Chinese food in Newport Beach.
Dumplings are the best! All staff members are so friendly and nice and accommodate picky eaters !
Ambiance is fine but bring a jacket...always a little cHilly with so many windows.
Excellent eclectic mix of food, so something for everyone. The service was prompt. The ping pong table in part of the restaurant was strange, but entertaining for my teenagers.
They didn't take reservations on Christmas Eve, although Open Table allowed me to make one. When I showed up and told her my ordeal, they put us at one of the best tables in the house. Really good food, service and they didn't ruin my evening because of this glitch.
Excellent location , parked easily. Dim foyer with no greeting. Shabby restroom entrance. Seated quickly . Menu awful with little choice of true Chinese food. No mention of options on rice etc. food portions good but quality poor. All meals seemed bland & not fresh ingredients. Very expensive for what it is. Could be so much better. Will not return.
You have to know what you're talking about, but the female owner knows how to get the order across to the kitchen, even if your waiter doesn't, so ask for her, especially when ordering to go.
The manager (female) is fantastic with knowing what is and isn't gluten free, so it's very safe for me. :-)
Asked if Shrimp Cocktail contained fresh or frozen shrimp. Was told freshly prepared arrived dried out and frozen
Very good food but the ambiance is a little lacking. The service is great too!
The rolls were great, but chicken dishes were just average.
With the remodel this isn't the quiet place it was. Our group left when the music started. The open patio allowed the cigarette smoke to come into the restaurant and wasn't pleasant for dinners. Food and.service were great as usual, but our group will do take out from now on. Too bad.
We had a delicious dinner. Service a bit slow and nothing really I'm the way of ambiance.
Seemed like it was for the local frequent clientele . If you knew the people in charge there were more menu choices and better service. Everyone around us was served first although we arrived first.
