Great food and service!!- The recommendation of banana cake was delicious!
Amazing place! We flew into town from New Orleans and this place really made an excellent impression on us. We were dine here for my sister in law graduation last Friday and it was amazing. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. We love the food. The food was delicious! We really enjoyed the place and will definitely stop by here again when we visit st. Augustine.
We were extremely satisfied with the whole experience on December 12th at Lunch - the service was
fantastic as was the food . We had the small steak, the chicken and the salmon which was superb ...
We meet there occasionally as one of us drives up from Daytona Beach and the others from
Ponte Vedra Beach .. never disappointed .. Also the valet parking is a plus and reasonably priced.
Finding a parking spot in St Augustine has become a real hassle.
We where very disappointed in the whole experience first the food didn’t come out in order 3 meals came out then another and then my wife got here meal 10 minutes after the rest of us got our food then here fish was under cooked and the vegetables where hard and unbeatable my 28 day aged steak then center of it you needed a saw to get through it and the same for my sons ribeye was the same way the manager came over to us and we spoke to him he said you guys seem like a nice family after we told him what happed and then he went to the back the waitress dropped the check off to us said she was sorry and there wasn’t a single thing taken off the check so to say the least is was a terrible experience for my family
Beautiful restaurant in Casa Monica. Had lunch here after visit to Lightner Museum. Love it!
Went for wedding brunch. Service for coffee/mimosas was very slow—buffet was good—servers at stations were helpful and efficient.
This place was outstanding. The hostes was great, waiter very caring, food was delicious! Amazing time... Try the procciutto entree and the NY steak...
I have been to this restaurant many times. The last time I went, I was disappointed with the service and the food, but the must have been a turnover of staff because everyone in our party of 6 thought the food was excellent! The service was good, but can still be improved.
It is a fabulous place to hang out with friends or just have a quite night with a special person. The front room with the bar and live music was lively, the back rooms are quieter, the food was flavorful and the service was great.
Dinner Food, service, superb! Early seating preferably as the adjacent bar music interferes with conversation when the live music begins and the noisy crowd arrives.
Richard was excellent waiter.
Front house manager stopped by and also sincere in making sure our dining was excellent.
Will return for special occasion again.
Best avocado toast ever. The eggs Benedict are also excellent. All the food is prepared from scratch and it’s very fresh.
Bad food, very expensive
The service was great !!! The Chilean sea bass was wayyyy smaller than usual. Also we didn’t enjoy the flavor nearly as much on a plate vs the hot black fish it used to be served in. Please go back to serving the previous size in the hot skillet
the total experience was average. we arrived early at the restaurant but could not be seated early despite the restaurant being half empty. the food was tasty but not near enough to meet expectations based on the pricing. Despite being a local resident, this was the first and last time we will visit here. too many other good restaurants where the value experience is well beyond this restaurant.
This is always a stop for us when we come to St Augustine. We love the atmosphere.
We booked our Thanksgiving dinner reservation at Costa Brava. We were excited. We had an 8:15 pm reservation and arrived at 8 pm. We waited for over an hour to be seated and the wait was made longer when a man behind us in line insisted to the host that he, his wife, and other hotel guests be given priority. Although we had made it to the front of the line, the man and his party were seated ahead of us. By the time we were seated at a table, we waited for an additional ten to fifteen minutes for the server to arrive. She was very nice but seemed frazzled. Our drink order was delayed and there was an absence of activity between drinks and courses. Our entree order was mixed up with another table. Two of our party of four were served while the others waited. When the entrees arrived for the other two, they were cold and we ate only a small portion before giving up. By this time it was nearly 11 pm and we were ready to leave. When the bill arrived, we were charged for a party of seven instead of four. Although the bill was corrected, it added to our frustration and wait. The server and others were apologetic. It was a memorable experience, but not in the right way.
This review is only for THANKSGIVING DINNER at COSTA BRAVO. Very disappointed is our THANKSGIVING MEAL. They were NOT prepared at all. We had dinner reservations at 8:15... they sat us at 9:15 and it took at least 10 minutes for someone to come to our table. And there was a long line of people with same issue. Costa Brava is in a lovely hotel and the restaurant itself was lovely so would go back for a regular meal BUT never again for Thanksgiving meal. They were all around NOT PREPARED. They overbooked reservations, the service was horribly slow( the server was keeping it together and pleasant) BUT no one took ownership of this terrible evening! There did not seem to be a manager ( we could not figure out if the Host was the manager). The food came out lukewarm. With the set thanksgiving meal which was a plated meal, we had to us coming a complimentary glass of bubbly. We had to ask for it and when it arrived to our table we only received 1/2 glass. There are ways of making up for the lack of attentiveness from servers or being short staffed...FOR EXAMPLE: giving us a full glass of champagne and or giving a free glass of champagne to the people standing in line for a hour waiting for their reservation. They had a lot of unhappy people. I understand that "holiday" events are very busy and chaotic AND there are ways of handling it properly and Costa Brava DID NOT. There were 4 at our table and we all had issues with our food. Grateful for them being open for THANKSGIVING for the out of towners... BUT would never do a holiday event there again. I would definitely would try again for a regular meal. Nice restaurant within a lovely hotel.
Very slow service, VERY slow. If I am paying a premium restaurant, I do expect a premium service. Even bringing water took the server so long
The food was excellent, the wait time to be seated was too long even with a reservation. The front staff were completely overwhelmed.
Back of the house kitchen and servers do a great job. Front of the house management is a train wreck. Had a reservation but they were 90 minutes behind.
My Husband and I enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner here. It was very delicious, service was excellent.
Long wait despite reservations. Loud. Supposed to be buffet or prix fixed. Buffet was lunch only. Turkey on Thanksgiving apparently meant white meat only(we prefer the dark meat) stuffing was awful. Sent it back and got the salmon. After 90 minutes, we only got the first course (of 4). Took so long we had dessert packed up to go. Skip this place for holiday meals.
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving there. Very good service considering the huge crowd. Thank you.
Thanksgiving brunch was excellent. All you can eat buffet-everything was delicious. Just slow getting drink refills and taking away dishes.
The food was excellent and the service was impeccable.
Had Thanksgiving buffet on 11/22 and it was everything we were looking forward to. It was elaborate and everything was prepared well. Displays were enticing and food was replenished frequently. Even received a special dessert in addition to everything else as it was my birthday.
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving Buffet! Food was excellent as was service
The food was pretty poor in flavor. For all the positive reviews it had, this place was a 2 star at the most.
kids shouldn’t be allowed. had a screaming baby behind me the entire time.
I've written about this restaurant many times in the past. It was once a very fine dining restaurant with superb service and renowned executive chiefs with creative cuisines that changed frequently, with quiet, tasteful Spanish music playing in an elegant atmosphere of jackets and tie preferred.
Now, it is a "Marriot type Hotel", and Costa Brava Restaurant is adequate to meet the "flip-flop", screaming baby, crowd who would prefer to eat at McDonalds or a fish house. The food was good, the service was attentive and friendly, and the wine and drinks helped with the ambiance.
Spent our 41st anniversary enjoying a fantastic meal. Alex Nak along with Martin made our anniversary very special. Alex couldn’t do enough to make our dinner spectacular.
Excellent food and service. Nice place for a romantic dinner.
Top notch from start to finish! Food was excellent, service superb and atmosphere was wonderful!
The grilled peach salad was the best salad I’ve ever eaten! For entrees, the sea bass and the beef tenderloin were perfect. And our server, Mike, was an absolute pleasure. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a meal that was this phenomenal, and I look forward to returning soon.
It was me and my sister first time visiting St. Augustine, and we had a wonderful time. Great restaurant and very quiet we went late and thats prob why which it didnt bother us, we loved it. We took oics all night long in there.
Very nice upscale dining experience- out of the path if tourism in Saint Augustine. Welcome break for me!
When you make a reservation to a Tapas restaurant ... you expect Tampas and Spanish food.
There was I think one dish on the menu that even looked Spanish or Tapas style, food was a mix Of middle easter , american style , no idea where from.
Only good thing was the service , I would say .. if in St Augustine avoid a tasteless , nothing impressive menu like Costa Bravas .
Excellent meal and menu. Wine list could use a little more variety but great service overall.
