This is a fantastic restaurant. Everyone should try it!
First visit this place, used for holiday date with my hubby. We had a fantastic dinner date. Food was amazing - Roasted chicken was excellent (didn't have funky spice at all so we could enjoy real chicken taste!) and cod was very tasty. We also ordered oysters and they are little smaller side but really fresh and ume source was very refreshing. Chocolate cake was very moist and presentation was awesome, very unique and original - we loved that. With that many food and quiet atmosphere we enjoyed, price was right. We will come back for sure.
The service was excellent, and the food was fine but didn't have the wow factor I would have expected from all they hype Coquine has generated. My friend and I are vegetarian and the appetizer and salads were great, but I didn't feel the pasta dish was worth the price tag. And I wasn't a fan of the seating style of being so close to your neighbors that you can hear each others conversations.
The presentation of the food and the variety of tastes was quite good. But three of four dishes were exceedingly salty. Cut way back on the salt and this would be an excellent restaurant. But we won't return because of the salt making many of the dishes almost inedible.
My favorite new restaurant in Portland. Wonderfully run by a detail-driven, pleasant fellow named Ksandek and his wife.

Delicious seasonal food with down-to-the-detail beautiful plating. Great service and somewhere you don't have to shout to hear your date. Looking forward to going back soon!
Small neighborhood restaurant with absolutely incredible food. Great wine list. Not cheap but absolutely worth it. Every dish we had was superb.
Pleasantly surprised about the intriguing dishes. Our table was split between the 4 course lamb and the cod fish. Every dish was very flavorful and we enjoyed every bite. A relaxed ambiance, attentive service..a great neighborhood find.
Delicious food, well worth the trip. The chicken, corn bread, and mushroom meal tasted like heaven on a plate. I didn't think it was possible to make kale taste that good! I will crave this entree.
Plum dessert was also very good.
Ken's bread was ok, butter was cold and hard to spread. Carrots in browned butter were more onion-y than I expected but still delicious.

What an amazing dinner; each dish that the four of us ordered was creative, well-prepared and a true taste sensation. Service was impeccable as well. Truly deserving of their 2017 Restaurant of the Year designation.

The four course tasting menu was excellent, as was the service. The dishes were petite but wonderfully executed and beautifully put together. The atmosphere is simple and homey and the food is worth the splurge.

Our meals were magnificent! The outstanding lamb dish was the best I have ever had in my life. What a fabulous experience all around.
This was our second or third visit and it did not disappoint. We did the tasting menu and it was a nice combination. I probably would have been ok (appetite-wise) with the 7 course but it was nice not feeling overstuffed. The flavors are unique and outstanding. Creative. The kitchen gave us a few extra appetizer bites as well, in addition to the "topper" of the dessert bite at the end, always presented by chef Katy. Ksandek is a gracious host and does a nice job with the wine. I'd go back any time.
The restaurant is amazing with the way the chef blends spices and special ingredients. We particularly liked the butternut squash soup.
Without question, the best restaurant in Portland. Very small (ten tables) in a quiet neighborhood about 15 minutes from downtown. Highly recommend the tasting menu at good value and delicious food. Brought an excellent 2004 Domaine Serene pinot noir with us and paid the fair $25 corkage.
Came here for a date night. Service was excellent, very attentive and helpful with any questions we had. The food was very good as well, the portion sizes were perfect, and everything was cooked perfectly.
We've been to Coquine several times, and always have a great experience. This time was an exception with less than stellar service, a disappointment when you spend $200 on dinner for 2. Server came over almost immediately to inquire about drinks. we weren't ready, having not yet looked at the menu. 10 minutes later she re-appeared, was less than helpful with our orders. Then another almost 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive because 'the bar is backed up'. Really, at the #1 restaurant in town? once we finally get settled in, the food was amazing and we left happy.
Wonderful food! Great service! I've heard that their breakfast is good too! They also have some outside seating in the summer. Best to make reservations because the restaurant is small and it is always busy!
Coquine is such a gem. My friend and I had an absolutely amazing time. The food was out of this world, the staff was attentive friendly and knowledgeable, and every detail was attended to. I will recommend Coquine to anyone in town looking for one of the best dining experiences Portland has to offer.
As usual, an absolutely awesome experience in every way. The "dark and stormy" is the best cocktail I've ever had! Katy is an incredibly creative and consistent chef. Every plate was better than the last. Everything was truly excellently prepared, tasty, unique and beautiful to look at also. The wine list is exceptional. Its always hard to choose from as the options are all interesting. The staff was warm and friendly as always. We couldn't love Coquine more.
The drinks and appetizers were amazing, but then salt, salt, salt! Ugh. It ruined the meal, even the dessert.
I️ loved the menu and the knowledgeable waitress! The steamed black cod is a must and they make a fabulous Negroni. We will be back.
Great flavors, food, presentation and service! Busy little place. Way overpriced for portions, however. Will place it on the back burner as we try out numerous other places next. They were super nice folks though, comping is two nitecaps.

The appetizers were wonderful. We split the whole chicken. Crispy skin but the meet is so moist and flavorful. Some of the dishes are very small, but it is a great value for what you get. I can't wait to go back and try some other things.

Each dish was unique and interesting. Service was excellent with appropriate plate and utensils reset for each course. An authentic dining experience, our compliments to chef owners!
Perfection. We ordered the 4 course chef’s choice and every morsel was prepared expertly and with great flair. The service was exactly right, warm, cordial, helpful, knowledgeable. The sommelier helped us choose the ideal wine - a brut rosé - and it went beautifully with every course. The main course, lamb chops on a bed of smashed potatoes and some variety of chicory, was exquisite. I’ve never had lamb chops as delicious as those. The dessert course, a tiny plum cake with ice cream had a slightly crunchy surface, while moist inside and the taste! The tiny cannelets and caramels from the dessert cart were equally fabulous. We took home a couple of the soon to be famous chocolate chip cookies with smoked almonds. I had mine for breakfast the next day - good morning! Can’t wait to return to Coquine. It’s the best restaurant anywhere. And we were just in Modena, Italy.
This is my favorite place to celebrate! Best food I've had in Portland, and always one of the top meals of my whole life. I'm always thrilled with the cocktails and wine, too! Worth waiting a couple weeks for a reservation, if you have to!
Celebrating our anniversary here for 2nd year in a row. This year we sat at the bar and still had one of the best meals and service experiences ever. Tried a couple unique and seasonal cocktails along with 2 starters, 3 salad/appetizers and 2 entrees. We split everything including as dessert. We were full but very satisfied. Also paired entrees with wine of bartender choosing and had an excellent Pinot Noir and a Grenache. Five Star meal and five star service. Can’t wait to go back!! Highly recommend the chick pea socca, black cod and just about anything seasonal.

Only issue was that there were fruit flies buzzing around our table the whole time. Having had them in my house in the past, I sympathize with the problem. Still... It was a little annoying.

Amazing experience. Wine pairing was outstanding. We really enjoyed the sweet potatoes and squash. The ice cream dessert was special. The fact that we were not hurried was so appreciated. Best Chardonnay I have ever had.
