Our own savory recipe made with pineapple and spices
Two Eggs over a thick slice of ham and grilled English muffin smothered in Hollandaise sauce. Served with fruit
Food wasn’t anything special. Over priced for the bland food.
Made reservations for friends birthday lunch. Put note in memo it was a birthday and would like a balloon. When arrived we were seated quickly. Waited for a while for water. Never asked if any of would like something else to drink. Then waited again for our waitress. Took order and again did not ask about drinks. Then food arrived about 30 minutes later and only 2 meals were served. Had to wait for other 2 about 10 minutes. Then came for dessert and I said I arranged with hostess cake for the birthday girl. Oh ok was waitress comment and I had to say I would like other dessert also. Was worst service we have had here. We come often as it is local for us. Very disappointing to say the least.
The best birthday I’ve ever had. Excellent service from Anthony. My 59th, 49h, 39th, 29th, 19th and 9th were the best birthdays. Hoping to be at my 69th xo
Beautiful venue. Delicious breakfast food. 16 usd + a person. Good service.
Great food and service. Breakfast was fresh and delicious
Food was great, service was attentive, ambiance amazing.
The pancakes were the worst tasting I’ve ever had. All other meals were wonderful.
I have been here many times and love the atmosphere and the food. The staff is amazing and though its always busy and sometimes slow. It is so worth the experience. Their deserts are amazing.
Wait staff excellent and the cake was to die for.
Made reservations and the manager wanted to give our table to someone else. She was so rude. Our server and staff wasbetre
Food was bad, service was bad, prices weren’t great. We can say we tried it but I’d never deliberately go back.
Sadly I made reservations with us website for my five-year-old granddaughter‘s special birthday lunch.
I asked in the reservation for a seat by the window and a pink table cloth. When we arrived, yes they were busy, but we were told we could not have a table by the window and I had to remind them about the pink tablecloth. Not the service I was looking for.
The food was awful and the service was worse. The entire experience was disgusting. The napkins were dirty, the silverware were used. They messed up two orders TWICE.
I did have unique dine in experience!
They have a bakery attached to the hotel.
We were there for dinner, great food and yummy desserts!
We will come back for sure!
There were two very large groups dining in the cafe the morning we were there which we believe slowed service overall. Our food took quite awhile to arrive but it was good. Portions were generous especially the buiscuits and waffles. We were hungry arriving but unable to finish all the food served.
Reservations are a must. We saw several parties turned away.
A walk around the other public spaces and grounds are a must if stopping at the Madonna Inn.
ALWAYS EXCELLENT FOOD! TABLE SERVICE - EXCELLENT.
Hostess- needs more training- you should put people who know how to do their job - up front. Remember - that hostess is your customers first point of contact when they enter your restaurant.
It is our wedding anniversary
Celebrated a birthday with lunch. I had a fabulous open turkey sandwich. Everyone was very attentive and served us well. Free piece of birthday cake was awesome!
We had breakfast and it was awesome as usual. The server could have been a little more attentive.
Great service and delicious food. Restaurant has unique decor.
Food was what I expected. They were out of the cakes we wanted.
Took out the toothpick that holds the sandwich together and then bite into a bigger toothpick that was sideways in the sandwich
Let the waitress know and was basically told to be careful with the rest of the sandwich pieces.
We went for a memory lane sort of thing and it was a the same as 10 years ago
Had the hot turkey, it was out of sight! We were celebrating our anniversary and they brought to our table a balloon and when we finished we were given a piece of their famous cake. It was a great experience
Haven’t been since I lived in Los Osos many years ago.
Still amazing and fun to visit!
Food was great!
Excellent food and Excellent service. Really nice you can order from the café or steak house menu
Usually I love coming to the Copper Cafe. It was a holiday weekend but also our daughter's birthday. It took 20 minutes for our server to come to our table and then another 30 minutes to get our food. The food was the correct order but was missing toast and preserves with the breakfast I ordered. The server was so busy (maybe understaffed) that I just did without. Otherwise, the b'day cake turned out fantastic and the other food at the table looked good. It almost seemed that the restaurant was overbooked and so service suffered for it.
I ordered the BBQ chicken. It was awful. There was so much bbq sauce that it was everywhere. It was really tangy and the chicken was dry. I couldn't eat it. The asparagus was yummy as was the baked potato and rolls. Foccacia bread was tasty. My husband had the prime rib and it was decent. The pink champagne cake was beautiful and yummy.
Flies!! Flies on the windows inside, in the bathroom and throughout the dining room. I am hoping they are not in the kitchen also!
Great food and fun environment, but the fly issue needs to be addressed. I had to cover my food and drinks with napkins!
Get rid of the flies! No eating establishment should have that many flies!!
Our server was excellent. However, the host who seated us was quite rude.
Hostess was very rude. It was very hot and uncomfortable inside of the restaurant. A LOT of flies, which was very off putting. The food overall was fine. The service was fine.
The service was great and food fantastic. We had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday!
We reserved a table online and when we arrived we were taken right to our table.
No waiting at all - even for lunch on a Saturday.
Our waiter was very accommodating but it took him a while to initially get us a drink and menu.
Food was good but not great - we have had hot roast beef sandwiches before and they pull apart tender. The beef made with tritip was not tender as it usually is.
Went for a birthday breakfast, and they brought us a ballon (even though we were both adults) and gave us a free piece of cake! Super friendly staff, great breakfast, and hilarious ambiance.
I would recommend this restaurant based solely on its uniqueness. The omelet was good and the hashbrowns did not have any taste at all. There are incredible desserts that you won't find anywhere else. There was a large party of 20 or so people that were very rowdy. Everything calmed down once they left.
I bring my grandchildren here for dinner and cake for their birthday each year and it is always a delightful experience. The staff really do a great job to make them feel special - which is nice since it is a party of two and one is a child, so it's not a huge bill. My grandchildren love it.
The food was good however where we were seated was awful the morning sun was hot, bright, and uncomfortable it would have been nice to have some sort of shade or to be offered a different table.
I eat here often. The Copper Cafe is consistently good in terms of service and food quality. But, they need to figure out how to better manage the bakery and get a dog policy in place. I realize restaurants are struggling with staffing and I give a lot of leeway in regards to this. But the way the bakery is situated, it takes up to 15 minutes to simply buy 2 cookies. Plus, the line for the bakery is right at the front door and it becomes this cluster of people trying to be seated, tourists looking around, and servers trying to get to the tables. Also, they need a dog policy and one they enforce. I am not talking about trained service animals. Legitimate service animals, not those BS 'emotional support' animals. The last two times I have been in the Copper Cafe people have walked in with unruly dogs that jumped on both the counter and on people. This is unacceptable. I wish people would stop bringing their dogs in everywhere (I love dogs, by the way). Untrained dogs are a menace to the staff and other patrons. Please, stop allowing untrained dogs into this establishment.
This was my first time eating here even though I am a local and I won't go back. Our waiter Sky was so unfriendly and dry. Our food took a long time, it was cold and not properly cooked. My son's waffle was flat and our biscuits were deformed and not cooked all the way. I went to the bathroom and 4 of the 6 stalls did not have toilet paper. Clearly they are short staffed. Maybe management should consider limiting dining guests until you get more staff who are properly trained to provide better customer service and cook food properly. It has to be stressful for them as well.
Novel institution off the 101 worth the visit for a step back in time
Such a fun place to eat. Very old school fabulousness. Noisy but very cool.
Went for breakfast. Had reservations. Seated right away. Saturday morning, very busy with full capacity. People walking right by our table without masks all the time. They sat us by the front exit area. It was too busy to ask for another table out of the exit path. We will keep this in mind next time we make reservations. Benn going here weekly since 1960s. We recommend for lunches, breakfast, coffee & dessert. Employees are all wonderful!
