Came for a birthday meal for my mum. Wonderful food and quick service. Didn't feel 'pushed' to leave once we had finished our food and enjoyed the evening with a drink at the end of our meal.
I went to Copa de Cava on a Friday night, I thought the restaurant would have better ambiance but it was pretty quiet. The food was very tasty and good value. I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Lovely food and cava, real buzz in the bar upstairs but it was nice and quiet down in the restaurant. Only problem was that it was a little bit chilly!!
Food was great, and the wine selections was excellent.
Unlike other Spanish places, menu wasn't clear and food slightly overpriced
Staff were polite but we were served by a number of staff and some weren't sure what had been served and what not.
looking for a ambient tapas experience but did not find it at Copa. tables are awkwardly arranged and it wasn't helped by a noisy private function in the main area. The food was overly oily for my liking and service was indifferent.
The food was great however i had two main issues. Firstly, there's no Copa de Cava sign outside the restaurant, only Camino which is the sister/ group company. Upstairs the Camino atmosphere was great but onto my second issue - downstairs the Copa de Cava restaurant smelt a little damp and it was quite cold - considering i went on a day when it was 23C outside (the hottest day of the year so far), this was pretty disappointing.
The food was very good though and pretty good value, maybe i can try and get a seat in the Camino restaurant next time if it has the same menu.
Also to mention - they brought a dessert for my sisters birthday as i mentioned this when booking and i didn't have to ask/ prompt them for this on the day which was nice.
Not a bad spot for post work drinks and nibbles. The service was good and the food of a high quality. Was pretty empty on the night we went so slightly lacking in atmosphere
Good cava, good, food, but too noisy. Service was slow becaued of very large group booking.
Went for drinks while we were waiting for a table else were .
Then we saw other tables being served there food The aroma and look of the food assited the decison to cancel other reservation and eat at Cops Carva
Glad we did great food , friendly staff that helped us choose from the vast cava selection and suggested tapas dishes .
We will be going back in the new year with more friends .
beautiful ambiance, slightly dark for the warm mood. very good food...though the real reason to go is for the tapas selection. lovely and warm service. much preferred to camino above. this is a great gem for a date in the city.
Finally somewhere that has got the lighting right !!!
Beautiful setting. Gorgeous cava. Good food / good service.
Worth going out of your way to experience .
Although bar opens at 5pm, food not served until 6 pm. I think this should be made clearer on website.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Copa de Cava. We had a lovely tapas meal accompanied by the top notch 'Cava flights'. Perfect "return to work" meal after the summer holidays.
Perfect for date night with my husband. Cava selection was incredible and staff are extremely helpful.
Very promising start, they sat us prior to our reservation time. Menu looked great - chose the Tasting Experience - 8 tapas with accompanying half glasses of cava. Were warned that it might be a little slow, but did not expect anything like we received... Food and cava were lovely, when we received it. Staff were continually apologetic, but after three and a half hours and only 6 of our tapas servings, we gave up and insisted on leaving. Not sure if they forgot us, or if everyone was treated to the same poor service. There were definitely enough staff around, the place was busy but not heaving - noone could provide us with an explanation as to why things had gone so badly. Will not go back, or recommend anyone to put themselves through it.
Being a Cava enthusiast (!) I booked for a casual dinner with friends - surprised to find it pretty much empty on a Friday night. Still, huge Cava selection, fairly pricey list though. The food was lovely, crispy croquettes with creamy cheesy filling, garlicky prawns and the cheese plate were delicious. Patatas bravas had a lovely spicy sauce and generous dollop of sour cream - I can't remember if this is traditional, but it tasted good. Service was slow, weird as it was dead, and we had to send the bill back due to mistakes. Not sure if I'd go back - would probably look for a bit more atmosphere next time.
Dined at Copa de Cava on the recommendation of a true Hispanophile with a particular bent for cava. CdC stock some 29 varieties, so this is a fun place to try many, with excellent tapa. The bottle we finally settled on, having consumed two 'flights' between us (a selection of three labelled glasses in a metal rack), was out of stock. Our excellent waiter invited us to order any other cava, with £5 knocked off the price; can't say fairer than that. Food was great, perhaps not the widest choice of tapa, but quality was very high. We loved the place; it was a little quiet for a Friday evening, but perhaps the cellar's atmosphere is better mid-week or when the weather's not quite so good, but we'd happily return anytime and probably will!
We got an Internet deal on the tasting menu, but even without this would happily have paid full price for the range of food & cava included. Top quality. The main area had been hired out for an event but I'm sure on a normal night the ambience is great. The real down side was the service, very slow & they hadn't taken note of the food allergy info given when the booking was originally made, so they had to make the few alterations possible on the night, it was just a bit awkward. If you don't mind sitting a while without a drink(!) worth trying for something a bit different.
Food was lovely and great value with the opentable deal. Copa de Cava however wasnt actually open on the Monday we booked so we ended up at their sister restaurant which is joined to them. It was all a bit confusing to be honest. They had some website offers on Cava for the Monday night but no-one seemed sure what these were and it took until the 3rd round of drinks for us to realise we were paying way over the odds for what it should have been - so not terribly impressed with their service and general disorganisation.
Service was more miss than hit, took ages for menus to arrive, food arrived in dribs and drabs and the bill was wrong..........the food however was really nice - luckily.
Excellent relaxed bar with friendly service and impressive imaginative food.
We booked on a Friday night intending to have the cava tasting menu of different cavas and tapas. Unfortunately when we arrived we were informed that the kitchen was closed and you could only order from the kitchen upstairs. This was very disappointing, so we left.
Food was fine and the cocktails were nice but the service was extremely slow. The restaurant seemed busy with a few group bookings but it was not full. We found that our drinks took around 15-25 minutes to arrive each time to the point where we started ordering ahead as we knew there would be a long wait. The staff were not unfriendly but they seemed rushed off their feet and stressed. The poor service became a feature of the evening and pretty much ruined dinner. I wouldn't go back here as a result.
My friends and I have been keen to try this place for a while, and were really looking forward to the evening. Unfortunately the tapas served was not up to the Camino standards. It seemed to be trying too hard, with each dish coming out as a separate course. I was disappointed by the patatas bravas and the Spanish omelette in a shot glass with a strange cheese sauce on top. The service was also extremely lacking, we were there for about an hour before anyone even offered us a drink and it took so long for the bill to arrive that they apologised with a free dessert and bottle of cava. Unfortunately this didn't really make up for the evening and I definitely would not go again.
We had the cava and tapas tasting menu. At £45 each, it was very good value on a Friday night. However, the service was abysmally slow - we had to wait up to 1 hour between courses. The waiter did his best to appease us, the kitchen staff (who can be seen from the the restaurant were just standing around. So probably would hesitate taking friends or clients - it's embarrassing to have to wait around like that.
Had the tasting menu with paired Cavas and it was great.
Love the atmosphere and the service was friendly and knowledgeable.
Overall great experience.
I didn't know there were so many different variations of Cava until I visited Copa de Cava! We didn't venture further than the house cava at £25 a bottle but there was a good choice and plenty of good priced options. The tapas menu is not your average tapas. The patatas bravas is a must try. Friendly knowledgable staff. Great vibe. Would definitely recommend.
The ambiance in the downstairs bar is very cosy. The selection of cava is the best in London. The food is more "deconstructed tapas" than the other Caminos, some of which works better than others. Overall it's a lovely find. I'll go back.
This restaurant was recommended by a number of friends so I thought Valentines Day would be the best opportunity to give it a go. Both my girlfriend and I were not disappointed, as we were looked after very well by attentive and knowledge bar staff who were happy to discuss the finer details of cava and personal recommendations.
Whilst we had previously eaten our main meal elsewhere, we couldn't help but sample a number of tapas dishes to go with our cava selection. The food was amazing, and delivered to the table very quickly!
We will definitely be back with our friends and looking forward to sampling the cava/food combo menus!
Went to Copa de Cava for drinks / nibbles with some friends. Love the venue, is hidden away and underground but has a nice atmosphere. Feels quite exclusive. Some people found it difficult to find though! Good selection of drinks (of course including cavas) and very nice tapas. We really enjoyed the food, but did have to wait what felt like an hour for one particular dish, but we all got free glasses of cava because of the delay so didn't mind quite so much! Would recommend.
Everyone in my party found the ambience, food and service to be noteworthy. A number of people in the group eat out regularly and each of them would recommend Copa de Cava, although it is a recent opening it seemed everyone in their team knew their role, seamlessly worked with the other, producing lovely food, which was well presented and flavoursome, the staff were informative when we asked questions on the menu and advice on quantities to order. All round a very pleasant evening enjoyed by everyone.
Visited on the opening week on a nudge deal and had a great variety of tapas and glasses of cava. Great experience and will go back.
Small selection of food, bland, overpriced.great cava though.come for a drink but not the food
The food was delicious and the Cava went down a treat. The staff were excellent and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend to friends!
We had a table for two booked for 9pm but had to hang around the bar area until 10 to 10. However, the drinks (Cava, natch) and food were both excellent. Slow service was eminently forgiveable as it was the first week and we benefitted from 50% off our food bill courtesy of 'The Nudge'. Staff were very friendly although could have been more apologetic about the wait
The surroundings are beautiful - an underground cave with lovely touches to the decor, like a perspex floor with cava bottles stored underneath so you can see them, plus you can see the chefs preparing the charcuterie right in front of you as you sip your wine.
The food was good, but probably better that it was 50% off when we went as the portions are quite small, so we could order double.
The wine was delicious and so much cheaper than champagne. I'd probably recommend this place for drinks with nibbles, rather than for dinner to get the best value and experience.
I went with a friend during opening week so wasn't sure how cohesive the experience would be. The cava selection was extensive and I loved the feel of the place. We had a selection of cheeses which were delicious, though served with not enough crackers. The mushrooms and garlic were firm and delicious. The seafood selection (crab, mussels, prawns) was very tasty. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, however, if we didn't have to top up our own glasses and ask twice for water (little things but important to service), it would've been even better.
nice selection of cava for all budget (some are actually expensive)
very nice atmosphere and food was good.
definitely worth a visit.
Had a great time, boyfriend loved it too. Although not sure it is worth the full price we would have paid without the 50% discount from The Nudge. Otherwise, great staff, location, décor, atmosphere and all...
