Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - iDrive
This was the Third time coming to Cooper Hawk. Sorry to say I will NOT be back again. The first time blew me away. Our server Matthew was wonderful. He was helpful with the menu and very informative about the restaurant. The food was very good and I couldn’t wait to bring others to share. Unfortunately that was the only time it was good. The second time the service was so slow we had other wait service bring our food after an hour wait. Thinking this was not normal I tried again. The third time it took and hour and a half before getting our food. They were great telling us it was being plated and 15 minutes still being platted then again 10 minutes later. The place was not busy we counted only 6 tables were occupied. Food was good but not waiting over an hour after ordering for food.
Yummy food. We had several tastings of the wine. Server was very experienced in wine pairings.
Great gluten free options. Shrimp appetizer was amazing. My filet mignon was just OK. String beans really good. Appetizer came to table at the same time as the main course which was disappointing. They should have managed that better given the prices and positioning of restaurant as fine dining. An added bonus was the nice complimentary birthday dessert.
This was our first time but came highly recommended. We were not disappointed. Server was FANTASTIC, wine delicious and food outstanding. It’s quite noisy and a bit hard to hold intimate conversation, but thoroughly enjoyed it.
We had to pass through the wine tasting room to enter restaurant, which was fun and added to the ambiance. I had reservations at 5:00pm, but because our guest was going to be late, the hostess was able to move our reservations to 6:15pm. The service was great, at the bar and in the restaurant. The food was wonderful, including dessert. The food was a bit pricey, but worth every penny due to great food and wonderful service. We noticed how the staff interacted with each other as if they were friends, therefore this must be a terrific place to work. In addition, we joined the wine club and were able to claim our first bottles of wine upon leaving.
Great time. Good value!
Great food and wine and service.
This is an acceptable location if you are already in the I-Drive area and don't want to go to Sand Lake Road - West or "Restaurant Row. The place was noisy and didn't have much ambiance. Too many tourists. I had been to Cooper's Hawk in the Jacksonville area just once and recalled that while it wasn't intimate, it was comfortable. My impression upon being shown to our table was that we had walked into a cafeteria. This was my friend's first time and he agreed. The food; the lobster bisque was quite good. More flavorful than some that I have had at much higher-priced venues. My dinner companions salad was also very good. Entrees - I had the filet with wasabi mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The plating and presentation looked rushed and sloppy. Killing the eye appeal. The filet was cooked to the right temperature and was flavorful, but there was a tendon right through the middle of it. I couldn't taste any wasabi in the potatoes. The mushrooms were fine. My companion's meal had the same presentation issues and his sirloin strip sure didn't look like any we have ever seen before. He agreed on the lack of wasabi in the potatoes. He enjoyed his vegetables. Our wine complemented the meal. We had coffees and I ordered Drambuie up and got served Frangelica. Big, big difference! Symbolic of the breezy, casual, borderline sloppy service. I might try Cooper's Hawk again, but not this location. Also, the "Cracker Barrel" retail space that you have to negotiate to get to the seating hostess is a huge put-off in my opinion.
As always, great food, great wine, great service. Love the Pot Stickers with Asian Slaw and the Brussel Sprouts (even if you don't like Brussel Sprouts, you'll like theirs). The Soy - Ginger Salmon is a big favorite and alone worth the drive. The current chef recommendation, Crispy Asian Pork, was outstanding.
We frequent Cooper's Hawk on Sunday for lunch. Lately we decided to dine in the bar area so we can enjoy the football games. The service and food is consistently great! We are also a member of the wine club and that is a good deal as well.
Amazing like always. I wish I could eat there more often but I live too far
We are regulars and often choose Cooper's Hawk to celebrate birthdays and other events. We were there this past Saturday night for my daughter's 20th, at her request. I'm sad to say that the ambiance and the food we're not on par with previous visits. Our server Ken was great and very energetic, so no complaints there. However it seemed like maybe there were some menu changes and the speed at which the food came out was very oddly paced. It was very loud, very crowded and just seemed sloppy, which I'm going to assume accounted for the chaos. We also seem to be having a lot of issues with our wine membership and our membership benefits, but that's not the restaurants fault and I will take that up with corporate. We will still go back to Cooper's Hawk because you can't judge a location based on just one visit, especially when all previous visits have been great. I will just blame it on an off night.
Clair was great
The food was good, but on a Saturday night, the service was very slow and the noise level was high.
Great pretzel bread, great food, great service!!! I tried the restaurant during magical dining. I liked it so much I wanted to bring my son, a chef, to try it. We all enjoyed it so much & will definitely be back!!!
Service is always great and food delicious. Never had a bad experience here
Service was slow. This was our second visit to Coopers Hawk. Our fist was exceptional! Our server last night wasn’t what I expected. He didn’t give any recommendations on menu items. Didn’t seem to meet the Coopers Hawk standard.
Great food and ambience! Reservations strongly recommended!
Awesome meal, went for my anniversary and couldn't have been happier
Great waiter, great food. Everything was perfect.
Our server was very knowledgeable and truthful when asked about different entrees. My wife is gluten free and they have many options for apps, entrees and desserts. My wife really liked the gluten free bread. Food was very good and cooked perfectly. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and were acknowledged for this at check in and with our server. We had an awesome experience. Only drawback was a little louder atmosphere than we expected but not in a bad way. Thank you for an enjoyable anniversary dinner.
This is one of the Best restaurants I have dined at in this area. It is a bit pricey, particularly the wine
Seated in a very stark area this time. The apps were terrific, drinks also. I ordered a combo of shrimp wrapped in bacon and flatiron steak. The steak was mostly inedible due to the fact that a large tendon was in the meat. Something they should have caught in the kitchen and not served. Everyone else was happy with theirs.
Overall my girlfriend and I had a good experience. The main course was a long wait by the time we received it. Due to the length of wait, the kitchen was closing and we were “rushed” to finish and move on to dessert. I will say, because of the wait time they comped our dessert. Nonetheless, towards the end of the service we felt a little rushed. It will not take away from visiting again. The experience was overall great and the food was very tasty. Recommend for a nice evening with a special someone or friends.
Very Enjoyable. GREAT WINES. Extensive Menu. LOVE their wine decanter !!
This is one of our favorite restaurant.. the food never disappoints..and we enjoy the wines....
Food is always great! Our server Michelle was very attentive. We are wine club members and always enjoy our experience.
Great restaurant. Great food and from a wine lover, really good wine as well.
To DIE FOR Calamari, the wines were wonderful and the menu selection was unique and delicious. Blue cheese burger was just ok, the lemon "cheesecake" was nothing like cheesecake, in fact it reminded me of a glorified jello no bake with poorly macerated fruit on top. But didn't ruin my experience as I didn't personally order it. The bolognese was fabulous while the gnocchi under it was a bit dense. Overall I would absolutely try again as the pros for sure outweighed the cons.
Enjoyed our meal here, very nice place.
Service is excellent ( Daniel is very polite, very helpful and friendly.
It wasn't busy when we went around 2 pm Sunday.
Would definitely recommend!!
There is no flow in this restaurant. Disappointing
Cooper's Hawk is good food and acceptable wines in the midst of the chaos of I-drive. When you walk in, you'll find similar chaos to the outside, with a hundred people standing around the long bar with glasses of wine in hand... lots of apparent first dates and reunions of old friends. Once you get past this entry area (The check in desk is on the far left by the restrooms and toward another bar area), the restaurant is more calm and quiet. The Gnocchi Carbonara is particularly good, though many dishes are very good as well. Outside seating is the calmest option and heaters keep the area relatively warm even on cold Orlando evenings. Other dining options along this same line would be a mile away on Sand Lake Road, but most would cost a bit more for the same quality of food.
Great service but the food quality and quantity THIS TIME was pretty poor. My husband ordered the ahi tuna and found only 3 pieces on his plate with a ton of white rice and slaw for $28. Noise level was quite high for early on a Saturday evening (5:30pm). It was so loud and the food so poor, we left without receiving our 4 bottles of wine due on our account.
This was our first time here and we loved it! The food, wine and service was all amazing! We will definitely be returning!
Great place to eat! Bring one out our way please. Collegevile PA, or Phoenixville PA
Glad we found a nice restaurant with good food at a reasonable price in the area.
If you are looking for great wine and a great meal during your stay in Orlando, then Cooper’s Hawk is the place. My girlfriend and I highly recommend the filet and the pistachio crusted grouper. The red wine is so delicious we joined the wine club!
The food & wine is always excellent. Bruschetta appetizer is always an amazing starter. The turkey burger is also very good.
The food is delicious is such a big variety we get something different every time we go there. And the waiters are knowledgeable the managers are terrific and everyone is friendly and it’s the best experience
In town to visit our daughter, love this place. Great tables to chat, eat great food, and have wine that is spectacular. Need a Coopers Hawk near us.
