Cooperage Inn Restaurant
The name "Cooperage Inn" comes from the craft of coopering, which goes back a few centuries, when it was the major method of packaging. We are located in the Long Island Wine region. Wine makers have always relied on the skills of the Village Cooper to store and age their wines.
This was a superb experience that exceeded expectations. My family was a party of four and all of us received ample portions. The food was outstanding. We had a gift card in the amount of $100.00 - the bill came to $121.00. I should say that none of us ordered any alcoholic beverages nor did we order dessert. I still feel that the pricing was very reasonable considering we did order appetizers and four entrees. Looking forward to a future visit.
Great place in rhe area, probably the best restaurant . Delicious food. The chicken pot pie is definitely a must. Good fish. Good meat and desserts.
Only issue we had the waitress told us the catch of the day was Striped Bass. They brought us swordfish but did not say anything. When we mentioned that to her, she said she was wrong. No apology, I bet she did not even tell her manager.!
We love the Cooperage Inn and were thrilled when they were finally open for inside dining after the Covid 19 shut down. We worried that they might cut corners to offset any losses, but it's the same wonderful dining experience it's always been. Food was delicious and plentiful and the staff were super friendly and helpful as always. One thing to note, if you pay with a credit card you will have a small service charge added to your bill (they refer to it as you get a discount if you pay cash). It wasn't a big deal to us, but the first time it was a surprise so I thought I'd mention it. They do have an ATM in the lobby, should you need one.
We always come to Cooperage as the food and service are great. We have not been let down yet.
Took my mom for her birthday she got short ribs I think it was more like brisket than short ribs she said it was OK.The stuffed clams and shrimp were tasty, but I did find that what you got for the money we paid I’m not going back anytime soon. Our waitress was wonderful And more than happy to do a little birthday dessert for my mom as well. the hostess was very nice also.
Very nice but noisy outside from cars. Not much they can do but offer sitting inside.
Each dish ordered was delicious and generous portions
Outdoor dining was beautiful in a lovely garden. Food came out piping hot despite the fact that it as 55 degrees out. Service and food wonderful. We plan to return next week. The chicken pot pie was to die for!
Would highly recommend the Cooperage Inn for dinner. The food was delicious and the service was quick and efficient.
Lovely setting and great food.
Great place to eat. Just know they are charging for bread basket . Also a additional 5.00 charge to have a salad with your dinner
We've been here several times & it never disappoints!!
Great service. Nick is always attentive and knowledgeable. Amazing food and atmosphere as well.
This is the first time I’ve been and will be back regularly. The food was delicious. I had the chicken pot pie and even bought a frozen one to bring home. It’s the best I’ve had. The coconut cream pie is home made and another winner.
Danielle our waitress was fantastic ! She was very knowledgeable about the menu . She suggested the harvest salad with that amazing dijon dressing and the chicken pot pie was outstanding . Thank you for great service !! Hope to be back soon!
The food and the service were excellent. A beautiful place, we ate outside by the fire pit , a great night out with friends.
Excellent waiter, food
Always a good time at the Cooperage. It was crowded but they handled it well. We were in a room with 5 other tables, well spaced out. They have ample space to handle people safely with Covid concerns. My wife had the rack of lamb and I had the Rib eye, both were outstanding. Spring for the bread basket, it passes away the time waiting for the meal.
Husbands birthday. It was lovely as usual. We are big fans of the Cooperage Inn.
So disappointed— it was my birthday dinner and the food was barely acceptable— the $5 bread basket was dry and toasted from sitting under the heat lamps too long ; the pumpkin bisque soup was bland; the pretzel-crusted bass was dry from sitting under the heat lamp so long
I don’t know if it is the COVID restrictions or something else but the shine is off this pumpkin and I’m not in any hurry to return
Food should be fresh and delicious , not stale and overheated.
Everything was as expected, food was good, drink was fine, but the air conditioning was very uncomfortable, it was warmer outside. I will go back but hopefully the temperature will be more comfortable
Had a wonderful time. Service was excellent, food was very good.
From the moment we drove into parking lot, to the greeting and escort to table we felt comfortable. The wait staff were as pleasant as they could be.
Then there was the meal that always seems to hit all my tastebuds with delight
Disappointed they didn’t have pumpkin spice martini other than that food is always excellent!!
Wonderful restaurant, this was my first visit and I will return soon. I did get a frozen pot pie and a key lime pie to take home. I cooked the pot pie the next day. I thought it was a little dry, could have used more gravy.
Great food and good social distancing practices being followed.
Great staff, great food! Plenty of outdoor seating
Cooperage always offers great food for a good price.
I have eaten at Cooperage many times and love the restaurant and food. During Covid, we decided to sit outside for the first time. The outdoor area is very quaint with flowers and lights. We were there at 5pm on a weekday so the traffic noise was a bit loud during the beginning of our meal. It wouldn't deter me from going again just something to be aware of. The service was great and seemed as if Covid protocol was followed - tables far apart, servers wearing masks, paper menus discarded after use, and mobile menu option. We enjoyed our meals and dessert, however, the filet mignon was not the best quality and for that quality a bit overpriced. Wouldn't order again but love many other dishes on the menu and the Cooperage in general. Will definitely be back.
Lovely outdoor dining options. Several outdoor dining areas each with their own personality. The food was outstanding. 10 oz. burger with bacon and cheese, cooked just the way requested. The cedar plank salmon was moist and flavorful. The bratwurst was served on a seeded roll not the usual boring hot dog bun. Service was pleasant and efficient. Will definitly return soon.
Celebrating a birthday with friends. Ate outdoors which was lovely although Sound Ave was quite noisy....not the restaurants fault. Appetizers were outstanding; entrees okay.
The staff was friendly and inviting. Service was on point and the food and drinks were delicious!
A wonderful lunch in the outside garden. Our waiter was excellent. His recommendations were right on. He recommended the special Bratwurst and it was special. Delicious!
Great setting. Some noise from the street when dining outside. Very pleasant staff
Was a good experience
Cooperage is wonderful as always. That’s why I go at least once a week.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday. We ate outside where the ambience was very nice. Food and service was excellent. My wife had Salmon and I had Tuna. We have been here many times. I highly recommend The Cooperage Inn.
The food and the service is always exceptional at the Cooperage Inn. It's our dinner place after the wineries.
I loved my food! I had the Salmon and it was cooked perfect! We sat outside and it was very nice except for the loud motorcycles and trucks going by. The service was good and friendly. Overall it was a really nice day and I had a great lunch.
We had a very nice time sat outside .. Food was very good. Purchased 2 frozen pot pies to go.. Had them last night, all I can say is amazing!
The food was very good. Our server was not good. First, when we arrived the greeter indicated that we could not be seated outside. I then noted that another couple and party of five that arrived after us, were seated outside shortly thereafter we were led to our table. They were walk-ins, we had reservations through open table. There were only 5 tables in the indoor dining area where we were seated that were occupied. We observed that our server often went to the other tables and requested if they needed anything. She never once did the same for us. She responded politely when we requested assistance, but did not proactively provide service to us. When it was time to take payment from us, she put on gloves before she would take our credit card or touch the receipt after we touched it. She had not done the same with any other individual or table that paid their bill prior to us. We then noticed that she returned to the table, gave us the receipt and our card back, and then proceed to take off the gloves. She then proceeded to the table across from us where a group of about 6 women we're seated and took their card, money, and receipt as they each paid individually. I note that we were the only African American individuals in the restaurant. This experience was, thus, mixed. The food was very good. The service was not good at all. Micro aggressive discrimination made an otherwise pleasant date uncomfortable and disappointing.
