   We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday and the service was good. However, we expressed he had food allergies hoping they would be more accommodating. (When we go to this kind of $$$$ restaurants, the chefs and managers do everything they can to accommodate their menus to our needs) but instead the server basically told us to stay away from 70% of the options in the menu leaving our options very limited. When the food came, his steak was good and cooked properly but my lomo saltado was some dry and unevenly cut pieces of meet with an old taste and served over a creamy rice that seem more like a paste that was taken out of the fridge a few minutes before. It’s so sad saying I will definitely not come back and this place did not meet our very high expectations. Drinks were good :)

   I expected more from the food, given the chef’s reputation. It was just ok. The meat in my rice dish was over cooked.

   Unfortunately it was a mixed bag of good and not so good. First the good; the entree was great, we got the short ribs and Peruvian rice and it was excellent, as was the house made guacamole. The bad; the service was so slow between the timing of the drinks, starter, and eventual main it was actually bothersome. This was a Tuesday evening, not a packed weekend. The corn cake was also different than expected from the description, served ice cold too which was odd. That being said the entree was good enough for us to want to go again but this was not a destination place more likely a go sit at the bar and see place.

   Overall experience was ok. Food was delicious and our server was really polite and cheerful. Downsides were: we were left in a table in a hidden corner near the entrance to the kitchen. Some “managing staff” complained that our baby was walking around, but the reservation was clear that we had a baby and yet they choose to leave us there. Our server was responsible for other tables on the other side of the restaurant, which made him take a lot to be back between requests. Also, at least 3 options we ordered weren’t available due to out of stock, even thought it was early dining.

    For starters , we arrived early for our reservation so we were asked to go to the bar to wait for our remaining guests. Cool. We then were not sat until 15 mins after our reservation time in a restaurant that ddnt seem quite as busy as the wait would have suggested. Holly was our server and was not very enthusiastic about having our table that night as her attitude was a bit passive and she seemed to almost rush us. This was later proven when she felt my friend ddnt tip her enough (or at all) as she confronted my friend at the table about it asking if she liked the service and if so why she didn’t tip as this is how she makes her money. She then threw her hands up and stormed off! We were a table of people who work in the industry in all capacities so we know how tips work and we always tend to tip above the minimum if we are able to and feel the service deems that but i find it very rude to have such a reaction especially infront of and towards your guests. I’ve worked at a different location of Toro in Ft. Worth and was really excited to show my friends the food and experience, but that interaction really soured everything and I’m unsure if I’ll be revisiting.

    My friends and I had a great experience. Food, drinks, and overall service was excellent. The entertainment was great as well. We enjoyed the dancer and DJ was playing great music.

    The food was phenomenal! However, the experience was hurt by the long wait for our food -- it took more than 1 hour to receive our food. This seems extreme and was unacceptable for us. I hope that they resolve the kitchen issues that must be reflective of this?

    We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service at Toro! And our meal was absolutely delicious. The only thing that was just a little off was the DJ started to play very loud music at 8 o’clock to give it a club like feel. The issue was, the restaurant was filled with families young kids teenagers it just a vibe that didn’t fit with the patrons. We would go back again, but would probably do late afternoon

    Great service. The atmosphere is pretty cool but it’s a little dark and feels like it’s in a basement. Food was pretty good. Ceviche, fish dip and churrasco were all great. Tacos and octopus were average at. Drinks were great and staff was welcoming and nice. I’ll go back.

    Very good Latin - Asian fusion. The food was quite tasty as it did mot try to overwhelm with hot spice but find a balance (unlike many similar places).

    Food itself was kind of meh. Everything was just missing an extra zing. The bacon in the Bloody Mary could've used some syrup when it was being cooked. The beef could've used more salt. The eggs needed more salt. The Guac could've used an extra squeeze of lime. The fried chicken could've come out hotter and more sizzling. It seems like the restaurant's food is a watered down version of good recipes. That's what the food tastes like. Service itself was not so good. The waitress seemed to want to rush us and was both loud and impatient when we had questions: "Like I said, if you do..." Ambiance was nice. Overall, the restaurant was: Meh.

    The food was good but the service from our main server was slow and lacked attention to detail. If this were a pub, and priced at such, it wouldn’t have it my radar. This is an expensive restaurant. The pulled rib tacos had great flavor, but was not warm when served. The ceviche and plantain chips were delicious. I also ordered a standard margherita, but when the bill came, they charged an extra $3.00 for salt on the rim, which was never made optional. It was $23.00 total- not worth it.

    I booked this for my husband's birthday but unfortunately we did not have a good experience. Service was bad, a lot of the food was cold and it was very expensive overall. The restaurant kindly provided a birthday treat for my husband, without me asking, but I was then charged for this.

    We went for brunch on a Sunday. The food was really good but the staff was lacking. We were sat at a table that seemed dirty, as there was only one place setting. We then waited probably 15 minutes before a server came by and I had to get up several times to ask for things as once we ordered, including cutlery once my food was brought out. Basically the whole time the server was nowhere to be found. A table also sat next to us and got up and left as they were waiting so long to be served and no one came.

    We had the chance to try Toro during Chicago Gourmet so we had a night in the city and booked right away. Our server experience was well below average with Joe. He was inattentive and didn’t seem really comfortable working. At one point while my wife was ordering Joe actually put his finger up and said “hush” to my wife. We were flabbergasted but could see he was razzled during his shift so left it alone. As for the food, we only made it through appetizers as the food was bland and not seasoned. Left nearly all of it and went on our way. It was a rather cold overall experience and we will not return.

    We were very excited to try this restaurant. The appetizers came out first and the grilled octopus was cold. The other food we tried was also not great. We did not experience the best service. Our server did not check on us. We wanted more alcoholic beverages but he did not come back. I needed more water but again he did not come back. We also asked him for a desert menu and it was never brought to us so we went for ice cream at another place.
