Columbia Restaurant - SandKey
Everything was great. The food was excellent. The waiter was very informative and explain everything.
Excellent food and customer service!!! Seafood was amazing! Great white sangria!!!
Excellent authentic Tampa Bay classic restaurant located on beautiful waterfront Service best in business A must do for locals and tourists
We are locals - and semi-regulars to The Columbia. The Sand Key location (where we dined for this review, and more often than at other of its locales) is as good as it gets. Wonderful service, a great view of the Intercoastal Waterway and outstanding food/drink. It is our "go to" place for occasions as well as showing off our great area to visitors from out of town. Never a disappointment, and always a real pleasure.
The restaurant layout makes the place look a little busy and noisy, the chairs need to be replaced soon... but the food, the service and the price is great! I will recommend this place to all my friends.
Parking was note organized very well. Food, as always, was excellent. The service was a little slow.
Amazing food and great service!
Amazing food and wait staff! I always enjoy eating here
Have been going this location as well as their other location for years. They consistently have provided excellent food and service.
Birthday dinner with family
Service was great and very attentive. Enjoyed some appetizers with my family and a paella which was amazing. Would defined return.
We celebrated our 24th anniversary at the Columbia restaurant. I proposed to my wife in the Columbia restaurant at the St. Petersburg Pier. The 1905 salad was great, the empanada's were fantastic. i have something different every time we go. We love their bread and sangria. We like the valet parking. The service was really good
The food is excellent. We had a Paella and a Red Snapper, everything was awesome!
This is a beautiful resturant, overlooking the water. Staff is excellent, professional , and very knowledgeable of the menu items.
Food is excellent!! I have had almost all items on the menu over the years of coming here
and everything is cooked to perfection. Chicken is not dry, but moist, Fish is prepared well and flavors are great!! We look forward to combing back soon!!
Friendly and highly capable service with amazing food and a view of the Intercostal that cannot be beat. We come here every time we are in town and we are never disappointed.
Always a great experience - good food and great service.
Went for a late lunch and while the restaurant wasn’t very busy, we were seated near a few very large tables. The noise was so loud from them, that it made it difficult for the elderly in our group to hear us (hearing aids amplify all noise). It would have been better if they had spaced out parties a bit more.
Everything, from the hostess introduction when I arrived early, to getting the table I desired (having been there many times) to the overall friendliness, cleanliness, and Cuban charm of the dining room was an outstanding opening impression. Our server, Jess, was prompt, friendly, helpful, and professional, and made our dining experience extraordinary, especially for my dinner guests from Ohio who experienced Columbia's for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Columbia's is my favorite place to take family, friends, and clients in Pinellas county, and I will continue to recommend it to anyone wanting an outstanding dining experience with excellent food, drinks, and welcoming atmosphere for those special occasions where one can rely upon a great experience for memorable times in our lives.
First visit to the Sand Key location and it was as beautiful as the original in Ybor City and the Sarasota restaurants. Great service and the food was delicious!
Great food and nice atmosphere. I would recommend for sure!
Went for our anniversary and I have to say one of the best dining expediences I've had in a long time. I would recommend 100%.
Was a great first time experience!!!! Absolutely LOVED the food and everything about it!!!
Can't wait to go again!!!
Stephan was an excellent waiter. Entire process from valet to hostess to seating and eating was perfect.
Our favorite restaurant in the area, the food is always great! The ambience and service and delicious food makes it one of the best places around! They have the BEST sangria.
This is my first time eating at Columbia . On August 9th I decided to celebrate my mother’s birthday here because I have always heard very good things about the quality of the food and service. The environment was not bad , very positive environment. Although, the server that we received was very unprofessional and did not show any charisma since we got sat. When we first sat Kevin (our server) rolled his eyes , I did not want to think it was because of us because we have never been to the restaurant but it made us very uncomfortable. Kevin did not make us feel welcomed at all. We needed advice for what alcoholic beverage to get and Kevin stated “ it’s up to our liking” , he did not recommend any beverage to us nor guided through the menu knowing he was aware we were knew guests. We asked Kevin if he could take a picture and he did not respond, he literally raised up his finger and walked away . After 5-7 mins he came back to take a photograph and walked away. Kevin did not smile ONCE throughout the dining experience. He really demonstrated the lack of professionalism. He seemed like he hated his job and for such a fine dinning restaurant like this one a person like Kevin should not be employed there. The quality of the food was amazing, and the overall environment of the place was great .. but our server did not make us feel welcomed.. it feels like I spent over $140 for just the food which is unfortunate. I believe this is not the first time this server has gotten feedback..
Our server Alexandra was amazing. She was a new employee, and you would’ve never known. We enjoyed all the recommendations.
Our experiences with the multiple Columbia restaurants we have visited is that the food is unique and great. The shrimp my hubby had was just ok this time. The service was really slow and the restaurant was not crowded at all. We were having lunch after the lunch hour rush (if there was one) and other tables were being visited by servers more frequently. We had an app, entrees, and dessert, but lunch took way over two hours. We were celebrating a birthday, but not expecting this slow of a pace. The view of the water is relaxing, but the pace of the food was kind of annoying. The restaurant offers more affordable options, but we were celebrating and splurging a bit which is why I only rated the value as good. If you can go with one of the lunch specials, it's much more affordable with a wonderful location.
Food was delicious. Service was great. Our server Juan was wonderful with recommendations!
My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary. I have heard nothing but great things about Columbia, but the price has always kept us away. Since it was such a special occasion, I thought it would be the right time to experience the restaurant.
Sadly we were disappointed. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was friendly but forgetful. We saw many other servers offering their guests warm bread and butter. We weren’t offered any. I flagged down the manager after not seeing our server for a while. He was kind and said he would get the server to get our bread. She said she put it in the oven but forgot about it. When she did bring it out to us, it was cold and the butter was very hard. Obviously it was not warmed for us. I ordered the thin cut steak with french fries. The menu said, “you’ve never had steak like this”...My wife ordered a seafood pasta dish. My steak was overdone and resting on my french fries when we finally got it. This made the steak un-appetizing and my french fries were soggy. My wife picked the seafood out of her dish since the noodles were not al dente. When our server asked us how everything was, we responded it was “just OK”. I guess we should’ve made a bigger deal out of it, but by then we were already very frustrated. I can say that we will not be returning. A 20 year anniversary only happens once. I wish we would’ve gone someplace that I knew. We wasted $90.
The food was very good, you have to try the 1905 salad! The salad and the mojitos and the sangrias were all made at the table. The wait staff were knowledgeable and excellent. The cuban sandwich and the empanadas were excellent.
Have been to the original in York many times, and also the one on the Riverwalk. First time here. Great food and service. Not the best Cuban sandwich but will order something different next time
The only reason I marked down slightly on the food was because my pork chop was a little dry.
Otherwise is was fantastic. Great staff, great location and everyone else at my table loved their food.
Took my Mother there for her Birthday dinner. Ordered a pitcher of white sangria, had empanada appetizer, 1905 salad and chicken monchego for our meal. Everything was cooked perfect and the service was Amazing. This place is 5 stars all the way!
Been there numerous occasions, excellent restaurant, always consistently good!!
Tango mango was very refreshing. Food was delicious. Definitely recommend!
Lovely waterfront view - interesting food and lots of it!
Great food, service and atmosphere. Love the consistency and quality of the food here!
Wonderful food. Wonderful tradition!
We visited Columbia for the first time. The location and views from the dining room were good. Waitstaff were pleasant and engaging, just a bit distracted. Food quality was fair to average, not unique or outstanding in any manner. Prices were on the high end, so quality should match. Given the expense, and the average quality good, I would not recommend Columbia to others.
