   Christopher, our server, was very good. It was my graduation 👩🏽‍🎓 brunch and The Columbia Restaurant did not fall short of amazing. Christopher knew the menu well and his recommendations were very good! Not a first timer, and can’t wait for my next visit.

   My daughter and I share a birthday and we made a reservation marking it on open table. We arrive early and they have no idea where we are supposed to be sat. I told them we were happy to wait the 14 minutes until the reserved time. They walk us all the way through to the outside patio only to turn us around and all the way back to the hostess stand because something was wrong where I said I didn't want outside. Then moments later, they take use all the way through again, back outside. Embarrassingly past all the same diners watching us. It is hot, muggy, and low tide, so nice and fishy smelling. We were two people who were sat at a table for 6, so we could barely hear each other unless we weirdly sat side by side. Our server was Christopher and holy moly was he atrocious. I don't know if he was having drinks at the bar or running his mouth, but it took forever to get anything done He messed our drink order up bringing the wrong one. For 2 croquette orders, salad, soup and 1 dessert, with a to-go entree and it took almost 2 hours. Mind you, we were dining at almost 9 pm and most of the patrons were gone, so no excuses there. We mentioned more than once it was our birthday and he disregarded any conversation about it. There was no singing Happy Birthday, no attempt to do anything special. And I know they do it, as I watched four just 3 weeks ago happen throughout the restaurant. When we left, there was no staff or management to find, so we couldn't address these issues with them. They also never stopped at out table. My daughter is a chef and works in F&B with 5 star Marriott properties, so we are well-versed in what the definition of customer service and quality dining is. $181 dollars later was the closeout to our birthday dinner and for the first time in years I did not leave a tip. As a frequent diner of the Columbia in all their locations, this was horrid and it will be a while before I go back or dine with my clients there.

   Have been coming here for many years, because it’s a tradition for our family, food is consistently delicious, quality and service is always appreciated. Our server Michael, very friendly and made our lunch very pleasant. We always get the 1905 salad, best ever. We love the Spanish bean soup and freshly baked bread. I tried the Mahi Cuban this time, very nice thick fillet of fish. We love the bacon wrapped shrimp with yellow rice, excellent. Classic dessert is the flan, our favorite. Love the Columbia Restaurant, always look forward to coming back.

   Sat outside to enjoy the view of the Intercoastal. Service was great and food was wonderful. Great experience.

   Thanks for your comments, Scott. As you know, overall prices from the last five years marked the greatest annual increase in 30 years. Like you at the gas pump and at the grocery store, we’re paying more to all of our suppliers as well.   We have held the line on our prices as much as possible. We choose not to pay less for inferior products.  We’d rather continue to provide the quality you expect from our restaurants.   For value, we believe we’re still a great option and hope you choose to return.
