Columbia Restaurant - SandKey
Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men.
Choose a table looking out onto the radiant blue waters of the Intracoastal Waterway from the Mediterranean dining room, or experience the casual atmosphere from our outdoor deck on the water.
Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Roast Pork "a la Cubana," & fresh seafood specialties. Sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo.
We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Open 365-days a year, including all holidays.
Great food at reasonable prices with large portions.
We really enjoyed Columbia. The food was delicious but I would suggest ordering light dressing on the salad, otherwise we liked our meals. The churros were yummy.
Enjoyed dining experience
The server was very nice and attentive. Food was excellent and we had a fantastic view.
Drinks and food were amazing. This is my new all time
Favorite place. Drinks were strong and food was seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend visiting any location. We went to the one in Clearwater and already planning go to the one in Orlando in a few days. You will not be disappointed.
The meal was excellent, we sat outdoors with a great view and the service was appropriate. We had time to talk and enjoy the evening and the experience.
Very nice restaurant with great food. brought back memories of our many trips to Spain. Good place for celebrations with wonderful outlook on Intra coastal waters. Priced at fine dining level so not cheap but good value. Parking crazy so use complimentary valet service which is great,
Food was good but service a little slow. Not sure if it was a problem with the kitchen or not.
The food, service, and view can't be matched at the Columbia Sand Key location.
The Spanish influence on the food makes it amazing. Service is excellent. You never feel rushed...
Columbia Restaurant was outstanding! Definitely a home run. The overall atmosphere had a very lively vibe and the food was incredible. The servers worked their butts off- running nonstop to meet everyone's needs.
We started with cocktails of wine and Vodka martini-stuffed with blue cheese. Then we had the famous 1905 salad which truly could have been a meal itself. But we continued on with Paella and my husband had a spicy seafood over linguini both dished were great. We ended the night sharing an cheesecake with blueberries on top. This was our 2nd visit back to Columbia and we will definitely return.
We had not been to Columbia for awhile but had a wonderful meal. The service and food were great. The only disappointing part was we were seated on the patio and they allow smoking there. The woman at the next table smoked almost nonstop and the smoke came right at our table. Had we known smoking was permitted we would have opted to sit inside.
Great place for a big night out! Interesting food selection & great service.
Always an amazing food, and a great experience. I love the attention to detail form the servers.
This location of the Columbia is great to bring friends who haven't been since it has the great view of the intracoastal. Always a good time, great food and sangria!
Lunch was lovely.
Food was extremely salty ond overpriced. Server was very nice though our experience was also rushed as the entree came out minutes after the salad course.
February 14th is our anniversary so we go to dinner on the 15th to avoid the crowds. We chose Clearwater Beach, forgetting it is the height of tourist season. Thank goodness for valet parking. We had reservations so were immediately seated. It was really busy and our competent server was over loaded. The food, once served, was good with generous portions to take home. We probably should have requested out side seating for conversation and view (My husband sat facing the wall).
It was a beautiful evening.
As residents of Clearwater we will definitely return in the off-season.
Always a great meal at Columbia.
Great overall experience. Had rezo for 8 and was seated promptly. The room is loud but not so much as it ruins the ambiance. Our waiter was very good, a little cold at first but warmed up as the night went on. His service was flawless. The food was very good, we had sangria and several tapas plates and most were very good. The oysters they had in special were amazing. The view of the water would be good how we we went at night so it didn’t factor in. I would return!
Had dinner on Valentine's Day 2019. Parking lot was packed due to the fact that the restaurant shares a parking lot with a strip mall. The Columbia is a traditional Spanish restaurant located next to the Marriott at Sand Key right on the water. The Columbia offered a special Valentine's Day menu as well as their normal fare. We had the Filet Mignon "Chacho" which was cooked perfectly and the Sea Bass a la Rusa. The portions were substantial, so beware if you decide to order appetizers beforehand. Had desert to-go (cheesecake) which was a special for that evening. Service was fantastic. The waiter knew the menu well and provided facts for us regarding the family history in the Tampabay area. Overall, we had a very pleasant dining experience. Will return again soon.
Every trip to Florida includes dining at Columbia! The tapas is wonderful, and much variety. Entrees are varied and tasty. The blueberry bread pudding and the flan are not to be missed desserts. Their big house salad, made tableside and sangria, are excellent.
We love going to Columbia on Sand Key. This was the first time we dined on Valentine’s Day. I had the special and my husband and I shared the special dessert. He had his usual grouper. Everything was delicious and atmosphere very nice. We will go back of course and plan Valentine’s Day next year too!
The Columbia Restaurant is always on point. Great food, great service, and great ambiance. There is an excellent view of the intracoastal from nearly every table, both inside and outside.
Dylan was an outstanding server. The deck seating was still cold even with the heaters when the wind gusted. Food was mediocre.
This restaurant clearly has a loyal following but I would not return. The food was good, not great. We had paella and pompano with artichoke for dinner and their special 1905 salad. The paella rice had excellent flavor but the chicken was dry and it was very salty to me even though I’m pretty heavy handed with salt. The fish itself was good but was overwhelmed by mashed artichoke. The salad was good but really a pseudo chef salad with a special dressing. The ambience was good; a large noisy room with a fun vibe. However we were initially seated at a table by the door to an outdoor seating area; there was a draft every time some went out, which was often. To their credit, I asked whether there was another table and we were moved to a large booth which was the best part of the dinner and really wonderful. Wait staff was ok; seemed a little pompous. And valet parking was so awful we almost left before dinner. There are many nice places to eat in the area and I would not return here.
The restaurant had a great atmosphere and awesome and authentic Spanish and Cuban dishes. I only wish that they had a) Lechon, instead of the roast pork dish that they have on the menu (which was still delicious, and b) Spanish tortilla!
This is my second visit to the Clearwater area in the past year & my 3 dining experiences at the Columbia have been nothing but superb.
I did not think this restaurant could come close to the original in Ybor City. I was wrong. The food, service, everything. Is first rate. Our server Logan was attentive, friendly, and helpful to our party with one senior who has difficulty walking. Even the valet was great.
Enjoying my birthday with my family. We had a great time, the pace of the food was well timed. Food and ambiance was great. It seemed as if they may have been busier than expected as our server James was off putting, making snide comments. For instance, he said ‘I don’t have time to bounce around the table, we’ll do this the way i do it’. Not okay. Outside of this, we enjoyed ourselves.
Note, the manager, if that’s who came to our table at some point to check on us, would serve himself well to introduce himself. No clue who he was.
Excellent food, fabulous service. Great place for a party. Would not recommned for a business dinner because it's loud.
Always a favorite. Noticed the 1905 salad was not as good as usual.
It was great . Good food , good service (Joe ) , and relaxing .
We had to wait 15 min. Before someone helped us. Finally , a lady who was not our intended waitress helped us and she did a great job..
A MUST to Try..Juan was a Teriffic Old World Cuban Waiter...Delicious..Great Customer Service start to Finish...
F and F
Everything was delicious! We will be back for my daughters birthday.
Lunch during a vacation at Indian Rocks Beach, FL
Good service & Good Food In a great location
The service here was great, food came out extremely quick—but left us all disappointed. We were a party of 9, the bill was over $200, definitely not worth it. We ordered
Bistec milanesa-dry, breading fell off & soggy, yellow rice was mush
Pompano jimmy-really good
Cuban sampler-pork & beef were so dry & overcooked, consistency of canned tuna
Paella Valencia-mushy, bland
Shrimp supreme-average fried shrimp
Shrimp artichoke dip-average
Mango mousse cake-good
Churros-dry & chewy
We definitely will not be coming back nor recommend this place, we expected a lot better.
