They messed up my order. I ordered a jalapeño burger well done , instead I got a medium rare one with apple slices , no jalapeños. By the time they got me another one it was cold and dry and everyone else on the table was done eating. The table was wobbly and we had to fold a paper and put it under the leg. I think this was something the server should have done for us. Also the hostess should smile a little and not treat customers like nuisance
The appetizers (burrata, flatbread and gumbo) and entrees (e.g., cauliflower, chicken, shrimp and grits) were excellent and the portions were generous. The waitress was friendly and attentive.
Delicious food, awesome service and lovey atmosphere
We had a fantastic dinner at Coltivare! Everything was perfect from the burata salad to the short ribs. It was definitely the best meal we had in Ithaca!
Excellent food and service.
Loved the tasty food, relaxed service and generous portions! Would definitely recommend the Buffalo cauliflower-yum-so well seasoned!!
Everything was on point
We were very pleasantly surprised by how good this restaurant was. The service was good - we didn't feel rushed and were able to enjoy a leisurely dinner. Nice sized portions and very tasty food. Although the menu isn't huge, it did offer enough of a variety to meet both mine and my husband's needs (meat and potatoes versus predominantly vegetarian). We definitely plan to go back!
Food was not super great, took a long time to come out, multiple issues. Service did their best to remedy.
Expensive for what you get. Nothing special given the price point.
Exceptional dining experience - highly recommend the lamb, the creme brulee, and the creative drinks!
We were a party of 15 family members reuniting for a memorial. We had a dining room to ourselves. Their was universal praise for the food and applause for our principal server to was, in fact, masterful. A most enjoyable evening.
We were a group of 4 adults, and we ordered 4 different main courses. We were all pleased with the preparation and the presentation of the food. Some of the “kids” serving were a little shaky, but the service was acceptable. A couple of critiques:
•the youngster with us asked for lemonade. What he was served (we tasted to confirm) was terrible….. actually undrinkable.
.charging $6.00 for a little basket of cubes of focaccia when bread was requested to accompany 4 salads/appetizers is pathetic. It cheapens the experience. This is not our first visit to Coltovare, as we are frequent visitors to Ithaca, and I am sure that we will come to eat here again. We are supporters of culinary education and frequent the restaurants and various open to the public culinary and wine and at the CIA in Hyde Park, just a few minutes from where we live.
We had a wonderful first experience. Will definitely be back and recommend
I grabbed a Burrata salad at the bar and my guests got the Buffalo cauliflower. Both options were incredible. The Buffalo cauliflower was better than typical chicken wings! I had a gin cocktail on the menu that was very well made with lots of flavor and not too sweet. I highly recommend this place.
The food here is fine, nothing memorable but the service is ridiculously slow. We had to wait almost 40 mins from first being seated before our cocktails arrived and almost an hour for our food, and they were not very busy either. Whether it is staff shortage caused by the pandemic or just lack of trained staff, it is causing a real problem. It looked like one waitress serving everyone the whole night, even though there seem to be others floating around. I hope they can sort things out soon.
4 of us were there for a birthday dinner and all had a good time. The menu has a variety that would be good for most. Out of the 4 of us 2 thought their dinners were terrific and the other 2 - ho hum but the atmosphere is fun. We will definitely go back.
We enjoyed the experience so much. The food was the best we have had while visiting Ithaca over the last 5 years. My wife asked the general manager to give the chef a hug. Will be back in our next visit.
SO the food was awesome, the noise level was perfect, however it took a long time to get water to the table and the server only stopped back 2 times to check on us get our dessert order and give us the check.
The food was outstanding. Specific kudos to the charcuterie plate (taste & presentation) & buffalo cauliflower (taste). Great atmosphere!
Great job all around!
My girlfriend and I came to Coltivare for our anniversary dinner and everything was excellent! The service was very good, the drinks were really good, and the food was amazing!! We would definitely go back next time we’re in Ithaca.
Enjoyed our meals and the service was very good
Good was great, though pricey. Service friendly but uninspired.
My wife and I enjoyed the buffalo cauliflower (excellent and hearty), caesar salad and creole encrusted lamb chops. Superb food and excellent service. We highly recommend!
Well prepared food in an open bright space. Good value and good values.
We loved the ambiance and the decor, beautiful inside. The food was wonderful, we had the cheese and charcuterie board to start, then we shared the shrimp and grits and short rib entrees. They were all very delicious. The service was ok, but when we asked questions about menu he didn’t really know, we had to ask what the special was for the day (usually a server should tell you) and when we asked what the cheese were on the plate he only knew one of them. He didn’t know the others. I don’t blame him for this, I blame the management, they need to train their servers, have them sample the cheeses and know what they are. Have them taste the menu so they can explain it better. The wine is overpriced too, but overall we did love everything and we would go back.
Very nice restaurant with good food and a variety of spirits. Overall experience was great!
Service was excellent! Good, inventive menu.
Everything was delicious! The salads were freshly picked from the farm. The chicken was charred perfectly and every bite was juicy. The pesto pasta, and the baked chicken was awesome. We loved the buffalo cauliflower. The weight staff could not be more helpful.
The food came our on a timely basis. We had a wonderful experience.
Great food and service! The prime rib was especially good!
Kayla was the only hard working person there. She was picking up the slack for everyone else, she cleared her peers tables, cleaned them, and was wonderful...we wish she was our waitress. My friend and I sat for 25 minutes before anyone came to my table after I went to the hottest stand to let them know that no one had come over. Our waitress was not on her game. There was a private party but they wouldn't close the door to that room and they were very loud and taking off their clothes, whisling but nothing was done. My salmon was very over cooked but the mac and cheese my friend got wasgood. Cocktails were fun
Take the glob of cheese out of fettucine/meatball dish. Meatballs very dry. Red sauce good.
We had reservations during a very busy graduation weekend, and I have nothing but high praise for Coltivare.
The food was excellent, and the service was professional, polite and cheerful.
I look forward to going back on our next visit.
We had a variety of dishes from soups, bbq shrimp and pasta dishes.
Great food and prices. The portions here were exceptionally large for the cost. Our server, Lydia, was excellent. It was graduation weekend, so they were somewhat busy, but my partner and I were still able to have a nice, romantic, birthday dinner for her. I ran farm to table restaurants in Chicago for about ten years before moving to this area and I was really impressed by every aspect of what was going on here. I'm a stickler for service and always have my head on a pivot when I'm out dining care of my time in the industry, and I have to say that this restaurant is great in all aspects. Highly recommended for vegetarians and vegans as well as gluten-free folks. My only gripe was that two Sugar Ray songs played, and I've had one stuck in my head now for 20 hours. LOL. Seriously though, great experience and high fives and stage dives to Lydia.
Great dining experience. Service & food were of such good quality. Portions were very generous. We will definitely be back next time we visit Ithaca!
Delicious food and impeccable service. Had to try like crazy to get the reservation but then the restaurant was 75% empty when we were there. Perhaps Covid related.
We celebrated my daughter’s graduation and it was fabulous. Loved the mac and cheese and the cheese tray!
