Law school grafuation
The view of the San Diego skyline is beautiful especially at sunset. The filet mignon was prepared perfectly. I would not recommend the shrimp tamales - I did not care for the 2 large masa tamales and the few shrimp on the outside.
Can NOT believe the view! What an amazing place to dine with friends, business, or a date! Incredible cocktails and food. Highly recommend the table side guacamole!
Late Mother’s Day dinner.
Great views of the harbor & downtown; not as spectacular in May grey c/t sunshine or night time but still impressive. The food is good but a bit pricey; slower than usual service but a busier than usual Monday lunch. Several GF options which are marked as such in the menu.
Beautiful day on the patio! Everyone’s meal was delicious and service was great.
Overall, Coasterra is an excellent dining experience. Although the menu is very selective, the various dishes are well prepared, tasteful and reasonably portioned. However, the cocktails are too overloaded with ice and there is little beverage to enjoy. I would suggest reducing the ice content to provide more beverage for the price.
Worth the drive to celebrate Mother's Day , table side guacamole was entertaining and tasty, the whew was outstanding , and our server "Kyle" was great.
Delicious meal in a beautiful setting.
Amazing food and beautiful scenery!!! Although it was Mother's Day and very packed, the service was good, and the food was incredible.
Great food, ambiance went for Mother's Day.
When I booked this reservation: we were not told that it was a fixed menu Buffett. My husband has medical food restriction. We asked if we could just order a simple salad with a side of Salmon. The GM said he could do that for us but he still needs to charge the $69/per person for the Buffett menu. Very disappointed with that response. We are (former) regulars to this restaurant, and they couldn't even accommodate our requests. We left, and went elsewhere. It put a damper on my Mother's Day celebration. I was really looking forward to the ambiance😿
Great mothers day
They gave us a really nice table for my wife's birthday and the service was excellent. The food was also very tasty. We will definitely go back.
Overrated. Service was below standard as was some, not all of the food. Been there once and don’t feel need to go back.
This was my first Open Table Reservation. It was super easy to do while having a baby and preschooler demanding my attention. If I can do it you can too. When I checked in at the hostess stand, the hostess found my reservation immediately and asked if we wanted inside or outside and led my mom and I to a table that was not windy or cold. The heat lamps were on and felt pleasant on the gloomy May Gray day. The views are spectacular even if you are not up against the window's edge. Elvira was our server and she was fantastic. Our food was fresh and very healthy. The margaritas were to excellent not too sweet not too overly potent and very unique and fresh. The cucumber cilantro and blood orange are excellent. Our caesar salad and coconut lime shrimp salads were light and filling. The cava sparkling wine was crisp and bubbly. Saturday lunch before Mother's Day was easy before the crowds. We both had a great time.
Atmosphere is fantastic! Waterfront! Tableside made guacamole was so fresh and our specialty margaritas and dinners were delicious as expected!
Great customer service and great food, excellent experience.
Go back for the view but the dinner menu is always underwhelming and overpriced. I look at the dinner menu and just not excited about what to order. I like the lunch menu better. Great place for drinks and a view
A bit of a factory , aimed at generating income
Love the view!
our server did a great job that my husband told me to leave her a good tip :-) She was good with the kids..
Food is good but not great... I liked my Ahi Poke but it needs more seasoning. Tamarind Salmon salad is delicious!
My husband liked his Nachos
Kids barely ate their food - quesadilla, rice & beans & fish fingers but love their desert. Who doesn;t like Ice cream?
We just had the Churro for desert which I enjoyed. Love the chocolate & caramel sauce.
Cocktails are good too - we had the mocktail Pina Colada & Mohito
Love Coasterra!!! Great food, fantastic service, amazing ambiance. The view of the San Diego cityscape is incredible. Only wish their menu had a few more selections.
I love this restaurant and can always expect good service every time I go there.
The service was one of the best I’ve recently experienced. The noise level was a little too much for carrying on a conversation.
You cannot bet the atmosphere.
The view and ambience are amazing. Friendly service. I was very disapointed with the food and drinks. Too costly for a mediocre margarita. The drink looked way better than it tasted. The Guacamole tasted like it was made with preservatives. I've had better guac from Costco. The Ahi toastada was mediocre. Nothing special. The lobster flauta was floating in a greasy substance. I sent it back. I ordered the fish and chip tacos. They were very good but very small. The little tiny side of beans and rice was laughable. They were in the same side dish. I feel like for a Cohen restaurant the food should be better. Had it not been for the excellent service and the outstanding view this lunch would have been a huge disappointment.
This place was seriously Overpriced Mexican food. Save your money
We have been to Costerra several times and it's always 5 star... And on this visit it was good.
However, my wife ordered your special which was supposed to be like a shrimp salad... It had 3 shrimp but when you cutoff the head it was very small and the rest was lettuce....She is a light eater but this definitely, did not fill her up and it was very disappointing, particularly for the price it was at...it was more like an appetizer than a meal...
Anyway, all previous times we've been there it has been excellent! And we will return!
Maria our server was amazing!! Great food and service.
My husband and I met some old friends visiting from out of town and chose this restaurant for its location across the harbor from downtown. We’d dined there on one other occasion. There was a special event going on in the area behind the restrooms, and it was so loud, it was difficult to carry on a conversation. I was also disappointed with the entrees as they were just so so. The guys each ordered lobster so the meal was quite expensive. And you have to valet at a cost of $7. The made at table side guacamole was good, though, as were the cocktails.
My partner and I had an amazing experience! The dining staff were all amazing and really showed that they cared about our experience.
We are in town for my daughter’s graduation. The acknowledgement/ congrats from the hostesses and wait staff AWESOME...The table/view AWESOME! COASTERRA will be our go-to-place for return visits to San Diego...you should consider doing a PSA on how to operate a restaurant!!!💯
This is my second time dining at Coasterra. It is an absolute stunning location/view with great food and wonderful cocktails.
Beautiful location, efficient staff and good waiters. The menu needs a bit of redoing. A bit boring and has been done over and over again in a multitude of other restaurants throughout San Diego. Nothing original but well-crafted food. Unfortunately the lobster I ordered was so overwhelmed by the hot spicy red sauce they put on it that I didn’t particularly care for it!
Disappointed with the service Our meal was brought out before we even started our appetizer
Onece we finished appetizer our meal was cold
Had a reservation for 5:30 and was seated promptly. I love the location with done if the best views in SD. Service was great, drinks were good, food is good. You won’t find tacos on the dinner menu as it’s upscale Mexican cuisine. It’s also heavily focused on seafood. Get the quest dip. You won’t be disappointed!
Our waitress took about 15 minutes to finally stop at our table after getting seated, no water no chips and salsa for about 20 minutes. I had to finally grab her attention to order some drinks. (She got a little defensive but in a friendly way). We finally got to order (delicious by the way) but again waitress didn't really checked on us the entire time we were there. We had empty drinks until again I had to ask for another round.
We get you guys get pretty busy, pretty fast, but we did notice everyone else getting more and faster attention than us. Over all good experience but not our favorite, it did not fit with your nice brand and surroundings. Hope if we decide to go back, next time we can better service, so we can happily recommend the place to our friends.
Food was cold and the salon had a bland taste.. not worth the 130$ we paid.
Fun night and added bonus of fireworks from group that rented the patio
Too loud, lose the live music. This isn’t that crowd. Menu too limited. Food very mediocre. A good view is not enough!
Food disappointing, expected better knowing it’s a Cohn restaurant led by Deborah Scott. FYI adding red chili flakes in excess does not equate to ‘flavor.’
