Amazed by the scenery, the interior design and overall urban ambiance. Have been wanting to go since it opened. A real treat for the senses. Service from beginning to end was terrific as we expect from your restaurants.

We had the table side guacamole - fun and of course delicious. Meals came out hot --from a friendly support staff. I felt like we could ask anyone for assistance. And our desserts were the favorite part of the meal. (The coconut flan and butter cake with plantain ice cream!!!)

Although (and I hate the although part) the chicken mole came out a little tough on one portion, and a little undercooked on the other, and the rice dish, while it had the pickled habenero onions, the rice itself was a bit dull.

But overall, creative, lively, fun, and terrific. I would come back next year in a heartbeat.

I thought the Valentine's Day dinner was very overpriced since the quality of the food was not nothing special. The filet mignon had no flavor and the scallops were cold. I love the ambience at Coasterra and the service was good but I will never come back again for the Valentine's Day food. It's a bad sign when the dessert was the highlight of the meal.

Great view and location. The food was average and a little overpriced. We don’t mind paying to dine on good food but it was average. Not bad but not great. The service was great. My wife and I will return and try another dish . We liked it overall

The food was absolutely amazing. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal and the service was outstanding. It's a bit on the pricey side, but I think it's definitely worth it.

I went for my birthday (Valentines Day) with a group of 8. It was Raining earlier in the day so I thought it would Be freezing outside and worried about sitting in the patio. We got there and it was SO comfortable. It didn’t even feel we were outside, perfect warmth. Perfect view. Food and drinks were great.

The service was very slow. It took over an hour to get our food served and the food was COLD! Cocktails also took a very long time to get served. I would definitely spend my $300 elsewhere.

Excellent views from most of the restaurant. Exceptional service. They moved us to a more preferred location outside closer to the heaters to stay warm and it had a better view of the water, a plus! The wait staff had to change and there was nothing but great professionalism during the change.

The food was excellent and they accommodated us really well with diet restrictions. The guacamole is super fresh and made to order. I could eat that all day long. Their fish dishes never disappoint. Our party had the steak which was excellent as well.

I would keep coming back. This place is my favorite restaurant in Point Loma area.

Ordered the lobster. Very disappointed. This was a special occasion, and although the view was unbelievable, the food was bland and cold. I wanted to enjoy it, but couldn’t get past the plate that looked as though it sat too long. My husband got the carne asada. It was fine, but each felt like a meal I could get anywhere. Beautiful patio, but that’s it.....

Coasterra is absolutely fabulous and a culinary delight! The waterfront view is gorgeous, the food is incredible, the restaurant design is perfect, and the experience will keep you coming back for more. My favorite dish is Chef Deborah Scott's "Skirts on Fire Quesadilla." The flavors are on point and it's spicy hot! Be sure to get a waterfront table on the patio. You'll love it!

I have been here a few times before and the meal has always been good. This last visit I asked for my food to be packed to-go. I got home and wanted to enjoy the rest but when I opened the box, they had not put in half of what was left. I called and left a message to speak to a manager but nobody called me back. Food and money wasted.

Ambience is cool, refreshing and views are amazing. But the entire carne asada plate was so dry with little taste. Maybe I ordered the wrong plate on the wrong night but for $29 it was super weak. Service was average. I had registered for a birthday and they never made note of it and never asked about the occasion for visiting. If I go back it just might be for a drink only. But one of the best locations around!

I had the Morado Fizz martini $14 was not worth the price, mediocre in taste. I ordered a dinner of the 100% Black Angus Carne Asada ($29) but was served the appetizer of Ahi Tuna Tostada ($19). Our party couldn't wait for a re-order fix and staff made no attempt to offer a comp and they did not correct the price on the bill. I was a guest of an out of towner (who didn't want to complain) but this was not professional or honest. The view was spectacular, however.

After recommendations from friends, I decided Coasterra might be a nice spot to enjoy a birthday dinner with my wife. When I made the reservation, I was asked if it was a special occasion. It was my wife’s 50th birthday. I shared the information but nothing from the moment we arrived to the moment we left indicated anyone knew or cared. I’m not sure why anyone asks these questions if it is of no importance. It seems they’d be better not asking if you don’t consider the information.

The meal started strong with a pleasant and engaging waiter but the service progressively declined as the evening went on. No one filled our water glasses or checked on the main course after it was served. When we ordered desert, there was no question why I’d only eaten 1/4 of my meal (which was perhaps the saltiest dish I’ve ever had; while the rest of the food was quite good, this was inedible. It was a task to eat the 1/4 portion). After desert was served, our waiter’s skills culminated with his disappearance. I think he may have been overworked by a large party that was seated in the same station but in the end, a competent waiter should be able to keep up with his/her tables. Ultimately, we had to ask a bus boy to track the waiter down so we could get our check to leave. All in all, the food ranged between quite good to quite bad. I’m not sure if there was a new Kitchen staff or some error because there is heavier salt and then there is when you can taste nothing else which is what I had. The service ranged from a strong start to an abysmal absence and non existence. I ended up cooking something to eat when I got home which is not exactly what anyone plans when they go out to eat. I’m not sure if it’s poor training or management at this location or simply a uniquely odd series of multiple errors. Irrespective of the reason(s), it was a poor meal With ooor service. Skip this option.

The view and ambiance can not be beat. We had incredible service and never felt as though we went without being waited on, but it didn't feel intrusive. My pork was fairly dry and my boyfriend's ahi was overcooked. It was definitely over priced for the food quality. I'm from Portland so, I consider myself a "foodie" and for the price of this restaurant I would expect to be eating excellent quality.

You can't beat the view at this restaurant, but I wish the food was better - I am giving it a "fair" review because none of food seem to be that tasty and I find the food bland and boring and I've pretty much have had several of their menu items. I think it's a great place to go and/or take your visitors for Happy Hour and then go next door to C Level Lounge for dinner ...

The waterfront views were simply stunning. We were a little disappointed with the food. Both entrees were just average and could have benefitted from additional seasoning or sauces, especially since it was so expensive. My lobster tacos were no better than what I've eaten at a Mariscos food truck, even they added a jalapeno cream sauce. My husband's filet had a peppercorn sauce, but no peppercorns were visible and needed more seasoning. We were disappointed.
