1st time here! Nice ambiance great ocean view. Food selection rather slim but tasty.
We had a lovely dinner with a beautiful view of the San Diego skyline. Food was good and the service was good. In our party of six we had three birthdays to celebrate and at the end of the dinner we were served three complimentary flan with a lit candle on top. Very nice.
Had a wonderful birthday dinner . Beautiful View, Great Customer Service and Amazing Entrees. One of my favorite Cauliflower al Pastor. Extremely happy and highly recommend this place.
Beautiful location, we had great service and they made our celebration enjoyable. But if you want Mexican food, think twice. Entree's are not typical Mexican fare and expensive, so are good margaritas.
Amazing happy hour. Get the Calamari, oysters, guac. Pass on the fish ceviche. Coconut margarita is the best!
It was my birthday dinner and it was exceptional!! Four of us ordered a bunch of things and all shared - from the margarita pitcher to the paella to the multiple desserts, it was all so good! My go to restaurant in San Diego for dinner and a view!
Overall a good place to eat. They just need to read customer’s request . I requested to be seated where I have a better view of the bay since it waa our first time there. I also mentioned online that we were celebrating bday and requested for a amall bday dessert. All my request I had to tell them when I wrote it online when booking
Server, Christian was wonderful and food was delicious!
Perfect early dinner. Stunning view and the food was amazing!
Food was just ok. Slow turn around expected because it was Easter, but it was extremely slow. Took over an hour to get food.
Served by Elvira, she did a great job. The food is nothing special. I'm disappointed with the guacamole maybe they used an overripe avocado. Food are overpriced. But the dessert was yummy.
We had a lovely evening, and were extremely well looked after.
Amazing Paella and the drinks are delicious.
Wait staff was very attentive and polite.
Great experience for my whole party.
Best coastal view of the city, good food, good service, good cocktails. Visiting from out of town, every time visit, make point to come for dinner. Upscale Mexican
Great service, lovely food & amazing food. Thank you for my birthday flan 💕
Amazing service and ambiance.
A great view and fantastic service. The coconut margaritas are amazing but strong! We love the fresh light fare
Overall good just a little too expensive for what I got.
Beautiful views! Great food! The service was also excellent.
Great service and food. Bring a jacket if you dine in the evening.
Beautiful view of the sunset over the city! Great drinks. Fire pits and Heaters all over patio. Very good service.
We have dined here several times the food and service is impeccable. It one of my go to places to dine when I’m home. You will not be disappointed!
Perfect restaurant and terrific happy hour prices. I will recommend to family and friends. First time, but won’t be my last because this place is good, from welcoming waiters to the food and the wonderful view.
Brought a friend here with really high hopes for a great last meal w/a great view before dropping them off at the airport. Made reservations online for lunch. I've only really been here for dinner and for drinks. Last time I came I remember my paella was extremely salty but I decided to give it another try.
We started with the calamari appetizer & it was delicious. It sat in a HUGE bed of cabbage which I didn't mind. I mixed it with the dipping sauce and ate it like a salad.
I love poblano soup so I if the one that was on the menu was a cup or a bowl bc I wanted it as my meal. I asked our waitress about it and she said it was a bowl & that it was more than enough for one person to have as a meal. My friend ordered the shrimp tacos.
I felt betrayed when I got my bowl of soup. It was basically a cup of soup served in a bowl. The shrimp tacos were also a rip off. They crammed the rice and black beans into one little side dish and the tortillas weren't even homemade. For the price at least give a full side serving of black beans and rice. It was a huge disappointment & I was slightly embarrassed that I had talked this place up. For the price we May as well have gone to Miguel's. Same price but better quality. At least the view was nice.
Our waitress Rebecca was nice but she could do better by coming around a little more often.
If you're looking for good drinks this place is the place to go but the food was wack. I guess when you're drunk the food tastes better
In town to visit friends
We celebrated our anniversary recently. We were greeted warmly, got the outside table we requested and enjoyed excellent food and service while enjoying the beautiful bay and city view. This was a 5 star experience, but think I inadvertently gave Coastera 4 stars.
Had the most amazing dinner here! Everything was perfect from the delicious food to the most gorgeous view of the San Diego skyline. Highlights were the coconut margaritas which are their most popular drink with excellent reason. I think that’s the best drink I’ve ever had in my life, I tried to get the recipe to try and duplicate at home. Secondly, we ordered the fried sea bass which feeds 2 people. It was cooked to perfection, the flavor was incredible. We were already stuffed from our appetizers of a dozen oysters, fried calamari and guacamole with chips but we couldn’t stop eating the fish. It would have been a crime to not finish such a culinary masterpiece. So glad we decided to come here and definitely won’t be our last. So far my favorite restaurant on my SD mini vacation!
Great location, killer views. Service and food were average. The guacamole was a huge let down for that type of restaurant, no spice whatsoever. We’ll still go again though. They did give us a free dessert for our anniversary which was appreciated.
Great views, amazing food, good service, cool vibes.
Our service was superior! It was our first real dining out experience since the pandemic and it was perfect.
Food and the servers were amazing. However, the level of service from the hostess service was so so. I requested patio seating closest to the ocean. We got a table towards the middle right by a big pile. I asked if we could maybe get a table closer to the ocean because we were on a vacation, I booked this a few weeks ahead, and I wanted cute photos. I was told by the lady that she couldn’t adhere to my request because there was about an hour wait. She said she can try to accommodate but I might need to wait for that hour. We were hungry so we declined. However, I started noticing that there were SEVERAL empty tables at the areas I wanted, parties also started leaving, and new parties were seated at those tables. Some of the tables were even left empty, so I just did not understand how the wait was an hour long when there were so many empty tables.
Basically, food and servers were amazing. Hostesses need to be retrained maybe. We ended up taking photos outside the waiting area.
Superb water/ downtown San Diego skyline views, great carne asada, over the top waiter. Great nite. Not inexpensive, but was worth it. Luv Cohn Restaurants!!!!
The food isn't worth the cost. The margaritas at little to no alcohol in them. Don't buy into the hype.
Celebrated my friends bday when we went. We enjoyed our food, our view and the server. Everything was perfect!!! Would 100% recommend!!!
I went to coasterra on Saturday, March 27, we had a wonderful experience, the waitress was very helpful and made excellent suggestions for my drinks. Enjoyed the beautiful view outside, I was celebrating someone special’s birthday, they brought a flan with a candle, and that made it extra special for my guest. The food was also very delicious, and the service was excellent like always. Thank you Coasterra for the wonderful service you provide to your diners.
Food was incredible! And Chelsea made our visit even more extraordinary! She was so friendly and made us feel welcome! The coconut margarita and banana buttercake are a must in life! So do yourself a favor and go here!
Our waitress was an incredibly sweet woman who we would absolutely love to come back to
It was a very nice experience. My first time in a restaurant in over a year.
We have always enjoyed Coasterra fo its excellent food and service as well as the location on the harbor.
