I love the vibe of this place. The food is good, I ordered the salmon and it was exquisite, however my sister ordered the ceviche and that dish looked like a pico de Gallo (I don't know if that's how it's made at that place or their ratios were off that night), more tomatoes on that plate than what a ceviche should actually have, I mean seriously it was a sea of red and a few chunks of sea food here in there. I'm not saying this because I'm a food snob, however I am Mexican, and if it says ceviche on the menu, than you should get ceviche, not a bunch of chopped tomato. Their service is good, not the best, but good. I believe maybe its because they are under the amount of servers they should have for the amount of table being sat, but that's my humble opinion. All in all, I do like this place and would recommend... just do yourself a favor and don't order the ceviche.
The service was OUTSTANDING, very attentive, knowledgeble and friendly. The food and drinks were amazing. Def recommend the cocunut margarita!
This is a very special place with a great view. Perfect for bringing that special someone that you care about, we loved our experience and recommend this place to anybody who is looking to have a fantastic time.
Loved it, had a great time. I ordered the burger, but it’s Mexican food restaurant. I should’ve have made a wiser choice.
The service was the best food very delicious it’s pricey but then again delicious
Mother’s Day brunch
The waitstaff at Coasterra were all first rate. There have been times, even at upscale restaurants, where some of the staff were significantly less skilled than others; including their attitudes. Everyone we observed or encountered personally were extremely courteous and professional, which added greatly to our evening.
The view is the best waterfront view that San Diego has to offer, so there is no way to go wrong. It was the perfect place to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our family.
The best food we had on our trip! Excellent blood orange marg, outstanding service, beautiful presentation, and gorgeous views. Banana buttercake for dessert is a MUST! Chelsea was our server and she was amazing!
The view was Spectacular of San Diego Harbor! The servers were friendly and hospitable. The food was amazing and the drinks were delicious. We will definitely come back here again and I highly recommend this place! Parking was plenty and free but if you want to Valet is $9. Also, take a sweater or jacket because it gets windy and cold by the water. Awesome place!
The view was Beautiful, the food was amazing, service great and co-owner also welcome people for coming on each table.
Awesome view, best place to see a sunset. Romantic place.
Everything was amazing, loved the Scallop entree, but really everything was fantastic!
Service was exceptional. Ambiance was very nice. The food was very good. I would go there again
Way too noisy for old farts, but if you wear your hearing aid - go for it.
Excellent exeptional service!!! One of my favorite restaurants that never disappoints!!
Service was slow. Arrived early before noon and still could not have a table where I would have liked
Coasterra is a wonderful place to have lunch. The menu is interesting and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is superb.
We were visiting and was were given the recommendation of going to your restaurant fir Cinco de Mayo- this one one of the best places we have ever! We had a lovely table near the fire overlooking the beautiful skyline. The place was beautifully decorated and spacious and the food snd drinks were delicious... a MUST! Wish we had places like this on East Coast.
loved every minute !
celebrated a friends birthday
Our waiter was exceptional
I joined two of my very best friends for a Cinco de Mayo celebratory lunch at Coasterra. First and foremost we had a great server, Christian, who put up with all our crazy. He made sure we had more than enough to eat and drink.
We started with wonderful margaritas and moved on to food that was just exquisite including the White Corn & Poblano Soup, the Ceviche Clasico, Crispy Masa Calamari, and the Mexican Bay Scallop Aquachile. Simply delicious.
Our entrees included the Chicken Enchiladas and I had the Cinco special Cedar River Prime NY Steak Taco Plate. It blew me away.
We had a great fun afternoon catching up and enjoying the great food and service and unbeatable views.
Food is much improved since out last visit of a year ago. The Ambience centered on the view of the San Diego Bay is unparalleled. Good variety on the Menu and the staff does well in the area of service.
Alex, our server, was awesome! Our first time out since the pandemic and he and the rest of the Coasterra team (from hosts to chefs) made it enjoyable and delicious!
Great restaurant for a special occasion unless you have a fat wallet. Food, service and ambience are great. With perhaps the best view of SD harbor and downtown in an open air terrace, it is unparalleled. Our server (Melda) was very attentive and witty to boot. Will certainly eat here again as long as I can afford the bill.
Lunching a Coasterra hit all of the high marks. Server and all staff was excellent. Highly recommend.
Great place with a great view. Love the food. I follow Chef Debra and Cohn restaurant group.
Coasterra offers gorgeous views of downtown and the bay, delicious food and fantastic service!
The restaurant, service and scenery was a 5. The food wasn’t the best but it wasn’t the worst
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and there was 6 of us that met for dinner. I suggested Coasterra as the view and food are always great! We enjoyed the calamari and guacamole appetizers, friends ordered a few different drinks, and my meal was great. The carne asada plate was good, but I tried my friend’s Cauliflower al pastor and that was better! Dessert was also good- we shared the churros and they brought out a birthday flan with a candle for my friend which I thought was nice.
We were sat outside in a far corner so the view was nice but not sure if being so far away affected the service. The server could’ve been a little more attentive for a party that was there for a celebration. Service can be hot or miss I guess.
Overall our visit was great.
Great Birthday Celebration. Service, attention to detail, food and a gorgeous view! Highly recommend
Great view of downtown - recommend if you want to impress your date. The overhead heaters helped out this particularly time sitting outside and the cool ocean breeze came through. Food was good (Mexican inspired) and focuses more on seafood and vegetarian options - consider other places if you want traditional steak cuts. Service was great and our waiter was attentive to our needs.
It was great! I accidently made my reservation for a different day, but was accommodated with no problem as they could see my mistake online. Food and service were awesome!
Beautiful view Beautiful restaurant yummy food. Ans great drinks!
Food was fantastic, view and ambiance was excellent, service was very lacking!
Beautiful view, tasty drinks and yummy food! Would have given more stars for service but our wait time between being greeted, placing our drink order and ordering food was not prompt.
What an amazing restaurant. We had an amazing waitress. It was my little girls bday and she made it so special! Thank you
The food is great. The view is fabulous. Will definitely go there again.
A great spot to have lunch or dinner in San Diego. Brought out of town family here for lunch and everyone had a great time. Excellent service and a perfect view on the patio.
My sister was in town visiting and this was her last night in San Diego. Our reservation was at 5:45. It took us 45 minutes to order while we were catching up and never did we feel rushed. The waiter checked on us but never rushed us. The atmosphere was lovely and the view was amazing.
menu was no longer good, waiters were rude. wont be back
