Feel free to request indoor or patio seating, we will do our best to accommodate.
The view from this restaurant would easily keep this place in business. Even saying this, the food is always great, and the service is very attentive. A great spot for business lunch, or date night dinners. You cannot go wrong.
The carne asada was flavorful but very chewy. The quesadilla and avocado shrimp salad were both excellent.
Great restaurant with nice selection of dishes and a view that is perfect! Gotta get the guacamole!
Beautiful scenery, great service, and great food.
Beautiful venue, amazing service, delicious food and great energy!
Had a lovely dinner with friends. Had the shrimp ceviche special which was fabulous. Delicious margaritas too. My friends had the salmon and my boyfriend had the mussel dish - both delicious. We both ordered the ahi tostada and felt that the fish was off. Our server couldn't have been more accommodating - not only did the restaurant take them off our bill, but they gave us a delicious dessert to share. Coasterra really came through for us. Great view too.
Inside is noisy but the outside is quiet and beautiful views
Have been to Coasterra a few times now and the more I go the less impressed I am. Last night services was very slow and there were empty tables (on a Friday night) in our section. It took us over 2 hours to have dinner and there was a long delay between ordering and food arrival. Then again between eating and bill arrival.
Food was just OK. Two Cesar Salads were very heavy handed with pepper, so much so they were inedible and were not eaten. Carnitas was good, Carne Asada was just OK.
Best thing about dinner was the guacamole and the dessert (Pineapple something or other).
Probably my families last time going to Coasterra.
Celebrating a wonderful birthday and enjoyed great atmosphere, delicious foods, deserts and adult beverages! Staff was awesome in helping it to be a momentous memory with family & friends! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don't think one can go wrong with a Cohn Bros. restaurant. Beautiful venue, good service and delicious food. We'll be back.
The food was quite good, and the view is great. It was so noisy, however, that it was nearly impossible to talk to others at the table. I would not go back.
This was the best visit to Coasterra of all our visits. We thoroughly enjoyed the tableside preparation of guacamole by our Guacamigo and it was absolutely delicious. The salmon and carne asada taco entrees were superb, while the chicken was good, but not our favorite. But, of course, the pineapple cake/coconut ice cream dessert was the perfect ending. And the view is SPECTACULAR!
Awesome experience and the staff was great! Food came out quickly and the views for sunset were awesome. Will definitely be back!
We absolutely loved everything about this place
The atmosphere was beautiful. The service was okay.
Excellent food, great view of the harbor activities.
Great job. Really took Mexican food to the next level. Spot on
Some of the best views in San Diego! I’ve been twice and the food and service has been superb both times. Make sure to get the “guacamigo,” where a cart is rolled to your table and guac is made fresh however you want to customize it! I’ve recommended this spot to many friends!
Not as light of fair as the menu suggested. Good Happy Hour prices.
We enjoyed a pleasant lunch before our nephews departed from nearby San Diego airport.
Our server as well as the entire staff made the afternoon great. Food was good and the staff never made us feel rushed as my party and I had a lot to catch up on. A special thank you to the manager Samantha who showed us such great hospitality and warmth from beginning to end. So glad I chose Coasterra to host family from out of town and they will be back again on their annual trip from Arizona to San Diego!
The location is great and the service is excellent!! The food value in terms of dollars is poor. $38 for three regular size Scallops is ridiculous! The taste of the food was good but unfortunately not outstanding. Had higher expectations for a restaurant of this caliber. I would still recommend to a friend but with caution on the meal selections.
View spectacular! Seared yellowfin tuna was awesome! Inside ambience so-so. Lots of tables packed inside. Felt a little like Denny’s. Outside patio edge seats with crazy-cool view. But, pretty cold in February. I recommend this restaurant, but don’t necessarily get your hopes up for a water’s edge seat and the other tables are ok, but definitely a step down. Had heard really bad things about the food from 4-6 years ago, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Great place to bring friends and family for special occasions. Love it!
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
WE WILL COME BACK, PROBABLY FOR HAPPY HOUR AGAIN THE NEXT TIME, WHICH IS A TERRIFIC VALUE. IT'S A GOOD RESTAURANT, AND WOULD BE EVEN BETTER IF THE ISSUES I RAISE WERE ADDRESSED.
Spectacular view, not much fish on Brunch menu, no ahi tostada... disappointing!
This place never fails to impress... from the view to the ambience to the service... always top notch. We came here for B-Day... wife knows I don’t like Mexican food but i enjoy the this restaurant!!! We are outside... noise level was loud but with the water all around us and the view... it was perfect.
Not the best place. Managers and servers are liars and below par. Place over looks water but food portions are super small for what you pay for and there is not much variety or awesome food items. Overall, tried this place because it was recommended by a friend and thought it would make a great date night, turned out to be like most SD restaurants, all hype and nothing to back it. If you have a $100 or so dollars to waste on a two ppl dinner then go here. If you want to get more bang for your buck, go to Fleming’s or Gaslamp seafood, or Pueblo, Bali hai or hell go to Marie Calendars. I wanted to this place to be the “it spot” but it just wasn’t that.
The staff is very friendly and helpful they answer every question for you. The food is very delicious and is served on beautiful plates.
Food, view and ambiance was absolutely perfect for a romantic diner.
Stunning views of the water and city line. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor, good layout of tables and does not feel cramped. Service was good but had to wave 3 times at server to get her attention as she was not looking our way often. However, she was very pleasant, maybe too busy! The food was good and fresh but could have been more flavorful, maybe additional herbs/spices/sauce? I will return and try different things off their menu. Their Old Fashion was very good, but very limited liquor as it was served in a very small glass with an extra large ice cube!!
We are not going back
The server ignored us the whole time
Not sure why she kept attending all the table around us, and skip us over and over
I left a 20% tip because I am a gentleman and ALWAYS a good topper regardless
Your welcome .... and you will never see us again
The view is amazing!
Lousy. Starts with an order to pay extra because they don't like the law increasing wages, ends with poor food that's massively overpriced. Evening ruined.
We went for Valentine's Day, and maybe that is the reason I have complaints. The food was tasty, but in retrospect it was not a $200 worthy meal. A salad, 2 small lamb chops (which were served ice cold and had to be replaced) and an over cooked cake were not worth my half of $100. Maybe $50. It was very loud and the music was rap and top 50 hits, not what I want on a romantic dinner. The view was spectacular, and maybe their regular menu is more reasonable, but based on what we got for what we paid, I wouldnt return.
Was a bit surprised at the pre fix menu for Valentine’s Day, but the menu did not disappoint. The food along side the amazing view made for a very special night.
Our first time at the restaurant. It was valentines so there was a set menu and it was obviously crowded. Would like to go back when we can order from full menu. Beautiful views, good food and service.
Fabulous view and delicious food
Absolutely yummy! My husband had the Chile rellano burger was cooked to perfection and I had the Ani Tostada! Yummy, yummy! Very satisfied when we left. Thank you for a wonderful memory of Valentine Lunch! Viva Coasterra! A gem of a view as always! Plus a great wine list! A place to experience! Always come first bdays , celebrations, holidays! Since you opened!
