   My husband and I are in town for a short vacation. Was look for a restaurant near our hotel. This restaurant exceeded our expectations. Great meal and excellent service. Highly recommend.

    Our server was wonderful. If only I could remember his name. I had a salad and the mussels. The mussels were excellent and very flavorful. I wish the salad had less tortilla chips pieces and bacon and more veggies and dark leafy greens. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

    This was our first time there. It was very good. The food was tasty and well presented. It was also fast. The server was good, more relaxed that we are use to however I am sure that is an age thing on our part :). We will return and I recommend this to anyone.

    The hostess was pretty off-putting, which wasn’t a good start. She told us to wait outside. Our server, however, made up for it, after we got seated. She was very personable and knew the menu well. The food was good, though not outstanding. I shared the grilled swordfish with my friend, and after a salad, which was huge and thankfully also shared, we both had plenty to eat. My husband’s she-crab soup was good, but cold (he didn’t think intentionally), as were his scallops. The noise level is a bit high, since the walls are brick. But a fun place and very busy.

    We dine at this restaurant every time we visit Charleston. The seafood is fresh and the preparation takes advantage of that by creating a menu that lets the seafood be the "star" on the plate. The ambiance is tourist friendly, meaning that you can dress up or casual and still feel comfortable here. And you can have a conversation with your dinner companions without shouting. Wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. There is an open kitchen, so if you want to see your food being prepared, you can do that. During busy tourist weeks, Coast gets crowded, so reservations are recommended (open for dinner only). Look for this place down the alley near the Charleston Music Hall. Find it once and you'll be back again.

    This was such a delightful meal! I was here for a conference and took a break and wanted to get out of the hotel. The service from our waitress, Lora Ann, was fabulous. All her recommendations were spot on! However, the hostess was rude and very inappropriately dressed! Really odd to see her attire in such a wonderful restaurant.

    Great food and drinks! Loved the laid back ambience and outdoor courtyard! Our server, Kerri, was delightful! Convenient street parking or in lot directly across the street! Just what we needed on our trip up north!

    The service was fantastic! The rest was basic at best. The food was lackluster and overpriced for a flavorless and overcooked meal. Our entire party was disappointed. The cocktails were basic and had primarily juice with little alcohol. The manager was pleasant and appreciated the opportunity to correct the problems but bad food can’t be corrected. All we could say was “we ate” and it was a $50 hard lesson to learn.

    Waiter was very courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. The food was very good. Only less than excellent experience was that the hostess was less than welcoming, but that wouldn't deter us from visiting again.

    First time at this premier Charleston restaurant, and our experience was amazing. We had "Skylar" as our waitress & she was extremely pleasant, very knowledgable & gave us great recommendations for our entrees. Even down to the "enhancement sauces" for our seafood & she "nailed it"!! We'll go back there on our next visit to The Low Country.

    There were 6 of us for dinner. My fish tacos and fries were really good. My husband’s shrimp and grits were ok. Those that ordered fish and a side ate everything so I assume it was good. The spinach/crab dip and calamari were also good.

    Appetizer (calamari) was good. Great mojito. I ordered the Baja fish tacos and had to send them back (I can’t remember ever sending food back). The fish tasted burned and it was loaded with cabbage with no sauce. I couldn’t eat it. The waitress was awesome and let me order something else. I ordered the swordfish with crab etoufee and cornbread. Again, the fish tasted burned, like a dirty grill. The etoufee was ok. The cornbread was soggy. Cool atmosphere and attentive wait staff, but I won’t be back.

    What a great place!! Everything about Coast is amazing. Came to celebrate a birthday and definitely to the right place. Food and service were phenomenal, server even brought dessert with a candle!! Can't speak highly enough about the evening. Thanks to everyone 😏
