Outstanding dinner! 3 of us had the drum fish dish. It was amazing! Can’t wait to go back for more!
Great service, good food, good live music. The adobo shrimp is very good!
The service and atmosphere were great. The food was pedestrian at best.
Nice people. Mussels were good. Steak was crap, very undercooked
Everything was fine. LaurieAnn (our server) was especially helpful
Just an Awesome place to dine....
Grilled Swordfish was probably the best I've ever had...
Layed back atmosphere with great food....
Amazing food !! fresh n cooked perfectly!
Great food beer and cocktail selections!
Incredible atmosphere and food. Service was exceptional. (Amelia). Highly recommend if you can get in!!
Riley our waitress was excellent! Coast has been our favorite Charleston restaurant for many years. Since Covid they no longer offer the cashew encrusted grouper dish which we always enjoyed and someone if not everyone in our party would order.
I don’t believe we will return until that dish is back on the menu.
In town for business. Always make this a stop for great food.
Food was excellent. Service good, if a little slow...i know it is difficult for all restaurants to find servers. We were seated in a booth, and the top of the half wall separating us from another booth, plus the wood lovers above it looked like they had not been dusted in a year. In a time when cleanliness is paramount, this was troubling.
This was very over priced for the quality received. We had a 7pm reservation and were out of what I would consider to be staples. The waitress had an attitude, that was off putting. I would consider this on par with a red lobster at best.
Excellent food, superb service, and wonderful casual ambiance with live music by Graham Worley playing guitar.
Found this restaurant rated highly on Open Table and dined there on our first night in Charleston. Te ambiance is very cool. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Loved the hush puppies and the Spicy Adobo Shrimp. Two comments - We had a reservation but arrived 10 minutes early. Even though there were quite a few tables open they had us wait until our reservation time to be seated. The only other complaint is that the booth seats were badly ripped and should be replaced. It made the place look run down.
Excellent service. We sat outside but unfortunately when the music was playing, it was tough to have a conversation. We were there on Sunday before 6.
I would recommend the mussels which had a terrific broth. The calamari needed something. The sauce helped, but otherwise it was tasteless. Same with the fish tacos
The jerk chicken and spicy shrimp were good. We all put the mussel broth over the dried rice.
It is still a good value dinner.
Not the Coast it used to be. Food quality has taken a hit. No plans to return.
Very nice experience at Coast this week. They allowed us to be seated 20 minutes before our reservation since we were early. We had a wonderful server Natalie, who was a pleasure. The food was excellent, probably the best meal we had in a week.
Great waitress great food!
Food was delicious and fresh service was excellent.
A great restaurant with casual ambiance. Terrific food and very friendly staff. Close to the Charleston Music Hall if you are attending an event. Highly recommend.
Outdoor seating is pseudo outdoor and server was not wearing a mask. The food was amazing and big portions. The roasted brussel sprouts were amazing. My husband had grilled grouper and it was very large and yummy. I got fried shrimp and fried fish. My waitress forgot to bring my iced tea but otherwise service was very good.
Excellent food, neat atmosphere
We were greeted by a smiling Hostess and promptly seated. The waitstaff was nice. We both ordered the Grouper which was grilled and slightly over cooked. The potatoes were very good but wish there had been more julienne vegetables. Overall a nice experience.
It used to be one of my favorite places. Now: not so much. The food is ok; not great. But the atmosphere and staff made up for it.
We had great service from Bailey. Overall food was good but not exceptional. Half price bottle of wine on Sunday is a nice promo! Enjoyed the wedge salad (shared with my hubs) and tried the salmon penne Florentine. Was tasty but salmon was quite undercooked in the center. I mentioned to Bailey and she was kind enough to take that item off our bulk. Key lime cheesecake for dessert was yummy.
It was lovely!
We always enjoy our experience at Coast. They have some of the best grilled swordfish around!
This was fun. The fresh fish was terrific, and we had exceptional service. We got there early, and things definitely revved after 6 p.m. This kind of a hidden gem in an ally. We would return.
Had a later reservation. 9pm. Got seated immediately. It was not crowded at all but not empty either. Food was delicious. Shrimp and grits were especially good and also the Drum fish special.
Very nice meal and lively atmosphere
Food was excellent, server was polite and knowledgeable about menu options. Drinks took a while to get from bar but that was the downside. Highly recommend!
We had the best experience! The food was fabulous and so was our sweet waitress Bailey. She was so attentive and informative about any questions that we had. Highly recommend Coast.
Absolutely delicious food! Wedge salad with salmon was one of the best I’ve ever had. The fried oysters were huge and juicy and my husband still raves about the pork tenderloin. This is our favorite restaurant in Charleston!
Great food and service!!
Really enjoyed the food. We had the prawn cocktail to start (prawns large and very tasty). Grouper to follow, that also excellent come with marsh and the veggie. Definitely will go back when we are in Charleston and highly recommend Coast Bar and Grill. Service was very good too.
Great service and very comfortable environment with live music. Enjoyed the evening.
We really wanted to like this restaurant because of the ambiance and history but it fell short of impressive. My order was wrong and instead of taking away the food I asked not to have, the server made excuses for the mistake, and punted the blame to the kitchen. The fish tacos were terribly bland. The wine 🍷 was excellent, of course!
Priced right, plenty of room, fun atmosphere and food was exceptional.
Delicious food and great service. We are regulars!
The food was very good. However, my oysters were just a little too overcooked for my liking. Otherwise, everything was wonderful. The mussels were delicious. We truly enjoyed our visit. We went early and so it was very quiet and enjoyable. Our waitress was very kind and helpful.
