They were kind enough to change our reservation from first seating to second seating, and told us they would put us in a closed room, which we were happy. We ended up in the middle of the place without knowing what was going to happen. Incredible experience, though our electric grill was brought to our table minutes before the first song. We were transferred outside after we just walked out. Would have appreciated experiencing the food more and told not to order what we did as they were not going to get it on time for us for the “tradition”. Hence, serving is too short for the party experience.

    * champagne 'rain' w/DJ party starts in the afternoon, w/ people standing/dancing on tables. if you want to stay 'dry', sit on the smaller back room side (but you'll still hear/see the party) * steak tartare, charcuterie and fondues--and champagne rule the day! * this place is on the Aspen Highlands mountain--great views, and you'll need to be at least an Intermediate-level skier to access

The food was excellent! The atmosphere was lively and most of the staff was great. Some of the crowd seemed a bit pretentious... It was a nice break from the snow. Not your typical on the mountain restaurant.

Cloud Nine is an absolute must when in Aspen. Book the 2pm seating 30 days out to guarantee a spot. We booked it two days in a row. First day we hit the mountain runs and the second we hiked the bowl and went directly to cloud 9 from there, but be sure to leave yourself plenty of time. Order food if you plan to drink more than 1 or 2 drinks as they wont serve you without ordering food because of the liability which makes complete sense. The music and crowd gets super rowdy by the last 45 mins or so. We danced on chairs to some classic hits and sprayed veuve everywhere it was epic!! friends of ours were recently engaged at the top of the mountain and the restaurant manager gave our group a bottle of champagne to enjoy. highly suggest going-- it was an incredible apres experience!! (Cost$$-- food for 6 and 3 bottles of Veuve and a couple of beers split between 6 people came to about $130 USD each)

This review won't matter because I understand that Cloud 9 is the most profitable restaurant owned by the Aspen Ski Company and it's nearly impossible to get a reservation during the season, especially for the ever lively 2 PM seating which becomes a bacchanalian festival reminiscent of the movie "Caligula." I mean seriously, when people start spraying $125 bottles of Verve Cliquot around the room, you know there's too much money in the world. The food is good -- not great and seriously, $49 plus tax and service for a quinoa salad or bowl of pasta bolognese is pretty outrageous. However, it's not the food people come for. It's the jaw dropping, spectacular setting of the mountains in the backdrop of this Swiss inspired restaurant. In the "old days" the party thing seemed spontaneous... for 15 minutes at the end of the meal, suddenly the music got cranked up and everybody went crazy dancing on tables and chairs. Now there is an anticipation and almost expectation that this is going to happen and the restaurant orchestrates it especially with the new sophisticated sound system throughout the restaurant and the longer playlist of songs...always the same mix of party favorites I might add. THE TRUTH is that if you are with the right group and have had enough to drink, THIS IS A FUN TIME for sure. But you will pay through the nose for it. AND, be sure to check you bill. We had a mistake on our and somehow I don't feel like it was all that accidental.

The restaurant is great and lots of fun, but you have to make a reservation on the 2pm slot. Otherwise is a packed, overcrowded restaurant with overrated really horrible-horrible food! Our party of four were all sick afterwards from their food. And really overpriced!! Maybe you should try the raclette.. we didn't try that. Other than that is a fun place!

This was our second time eating at Cloud-9 and the food was average and very over priced - but I guess they can charge more because they are on the mountain. We had a noon reservation, but if you can get a 2pm reservation I'm told this is better because there is a DJ at that time. If you can't get the 2pm reservation I would recommend to eat someplace else on the mountain.

Our group was unaware of the options that they offered for lunch. We still wanted to enjoy The remaining part of the afternoon on the slopes so we did not want to eat too much. When we ordered small portions and did not have bottle service the waitress had a real attitude towards us and was very unfriendly. She made several rude comments to our group like we did not belong there. We will never go back there to eat but rather maybe have a drink outside on the deck.

The lunch we had at Cloud Nine was as good, fun, energetic and full of atmosphere as we had expected and wanted it to be. A definitive must in Aspen if you want a lunch in a place like the ones you're sometimes lucky to find in the Alps, but that you hardly ever find in US skiing areas.

Cloud Nine might just be the best lunch in the ski business! So fun, so beautiful 😍 add a gass of champagne and it's easily the best time you'll have at the Highlands (well, except the Bowl with pow). "Ski in Dance out" is the motto ... it's a good one. We can not wait to go again!
