   All in all, it was a good experience for our anniversary. Unfortunately, the crab cake was very fishy and overseasoned, but the rest of our meal was very good. My wife had the filet mignon, and I had the scallops with saffron risotto. Both cooked perfectly. The Sauvignon Blanc paired well. Our service from Samantha was wonderful. She was very efficient and friendly, and we shared quite a few laughs together. She made the evening. Overall, another good experience at The Cliff House.

   We had a great dinner. Lovely dining room. Excellent wine menu. Wait staff very knowledgeable of menu and versed in wines. He made a wonderful recommendation. We enjoyed the trout and the duck. The mushroom and sweet potato gnocchi Excellent rosemary sour dough bread. appetizer was divine. We didn’t have dessert as were full. Sophisticated dining room experience. Excellent.

   Just terrible. The tall host man at the host stand that greeted us was not friendly at all. When we sat down we asked the waitress for a high chair for our baby and after 10 minutes of waiting she completely forgot. Then we asked for lime and a straw and again she forgot. We had to ask for that 3 times. No apologies. The food was very mediocre. I ordered my elk steak medium and it came basically raw. No staff in the restaurant knew how to smile. For a 4 diamond and fine dining restaurant, this is just sad.

   The waitstaff were very nice and efficient. The food was very slow to be delivered even though the restaurant was not crowded. Our food was very overcooked and way over salted. Very disappointed considering the price point and past reviews.

   We dined on the verandah, which was lovely because it was quiet and gave us a view of the sun going down on Red Mountain. The food was absolutely outstanding. Of particular mention: my friend had the scallops and risotto...perfectly executed. My starter was the goat cheese...a yummy tub of melty cheese laced with caramelized onions. The Cliff House has an excellent pastry chef (side note: the biscuits at breakfast were fabulous...buttery...flaky...light...mmm...tastes like more). The only detractor in our dinner experience was the service...a very friendly (problem was: too friendly) young woman who made us feel awkward because she seemed to want to keep the conversation going when what we wanted to do was taste our food. She had a tendency to sort of lurk, looming over us beside the table after presenting the food, telling us about matters unrelated to the meal or the venue. I would attribute this to youthful inexperience and perhaps a lack of mentoring/ training...she clearly meant well, and was very sweet, but as I said, it made for awkward stretches. That aside, we had a delicious and all-in-all highly enjoyable meal and would happily return for seconds.

    We dined here for Easter dinner with a party of 10. We were seated not in the main dining room but in large room. Thought at first that this might not be a great experience but I was totally wrong. Our service was spot on. George who I think was part of management was so attentive and helpful. Most of us tried either the shrimp entree or salmon. Clean plates around the table so thinking everyone enjoyed their entree. One star taken off due to a lot of comments about the dressing on the salad being sharp or a bit too tangy. The carrot cake offered for dessert was a generous portion for all. We were not rushed at all even though we were the last party to leave. Forgot to mention their wine selection and beer menus are extensive and well appointed with many unique offerings. Lovely Easter dinner.

    My wife and i came for dinner. I had the seared sea scallops, she had pasta primavera. Both were quite good; french onion soup was excellent. As was the desert of chocolate nemesis. Service was good and prompt. Bill was $170 all totaled.

    Perfect! Let me spell it out.. P E R F E C T ! Chris is fantastic and made our dining experience awesome. .. and I didn’t get the name of the young lady that served us our drinks, but she also was exceptional. The meals were fantastic and presentation superb. Next time…. More crab cakes ! We will be back for sure to the Cliff House.

    The Cliff House is our go-to restaurant for fine dining. This is one of the few restaurants in town that offer an intimate (quiet) dining experience. The music was low enough that we could hear each other talk and we couldn't hear conversations from other tables. Great atmosphere. The French onion soup, duck, and salmon were delicious. The service was terrific: attentive but not bothersome. We were never rushed. Prices are very reasonable for such high quality food.

    Took my wife there for Valentine day. Had tried to get reservations before but this time I was successful. Was so looking forward to try Cliff House out but must say was a little disappointed. The service was just ok very slow maybe because there was not enough staff. Food was ok wife’s dinner (Lobster thermidor)was more stuffing than meat so very disappointing to her.

    For us, the two key assets of a fine restaurant are the food and the service. That said, the service we enjoyed, thru the entire evening, was nothing less that exceptional and the food was phenomenal, which actually understates how much we enjoyed our dinner at the Cliff House.

    My husband scheduled a stay here at least once a year. The ambiance is lovely and relaxing with an overall unique experience. Food and service always superb as is the overall staff and service here. We'll be back and would highly recommend a stay or schedule a dinner only. You won't be disappointed! :)

    We went for a New Years date. The Service was fantastic. We both had old fashions which were good but not great. Our appetizer, the gnocchi was spot on. Delicious. The caprese salad should be a shareable instead of a personal salad. It is very large and not put together in a way easy to eat. My spinach salad tasted good but was drowning in the dressing. We ordered the trout (which was really good) and the duck. The duck and Brussel sprouts were very tatsy. Unfortunately the grits they were on were cold and clumpy which took something away from the rest of the meal. Overall a place to visit and eat at.

    The food and ambience was awesome. Definitely worth the money! The service was good, but very disorganized. They had 3 people taking care of every table, so there seemed to be a lot of miscommunication. I also disagree with the tip pooling, but that's more a criticism of the management.

    Food was not worth the money we paid — overdone Chicken Tender, overdone Turkey Dinner, Overdone Prime Rib.. we had our Chicken Tenders remade & they did bring us another Prime Rib, but still— it was underwhelming overall Food Quality wise..Also the staff seamed stressed, overwhelmed…it made for a stressful experience

    What another wonderful dining experience we had on Christmas Eve at the Cliff House at Pikes Peak! The food was excellent; great ambience and service. This has become a tradition for my son and I to dine there during the holidays. It was an amazing experience and we will certainly return!

    The hype was better than the experience. There was nothing bad per say, other than the long time between meals which is more on the kitchen staff than the service as we saw other tables running into long wait times too. Our server was nice and made a good recommendation on wine which was appreciated, but the time between meals and seeing him were slow turning the dining experience into a 2+ hour night out. The atmosphere was nice and we appreciated the Victorian style Christmas decor, but there was nothing that stuck out to us as being a place I would return. We spent about $200+ including tip, but frankly idk if the overall value was worth it. I ordered the elk which was recommended medium to medium rare, but came out rare. I never got a steak knife which is sorely needed to cut through the thick cut of meat and didn’t see my waiter at a point I could ask. Overall it wasn’t bad, just nothing special that I would come back too. Maybe an off night, idk but with the kind of bill that rivals steak houses, you’d expect more umph! Honestly, if things moved quicker and small things improved like making sure I get a steak knife I think this would be a great place for a nice intimate meal.
