Eating at the Cliff House is a lovely experience. Particularly when one is staying at the lodge.
It was great. Food was amazing. Service was great. We had a great time
It was a great place to have a lunch with friends we haven't seen for awhile.
We go to The Cliff House once a year to celebrate our anniversary. It's always wonderful. The hotel is fabulous and the food is amazing. It's one of our favorite places to stay and eat.
The restaurant at Cliff House has an appealing ambiance but the food falls short for those expecting high quality, hot entrees. While attractively presented, my trout was served with unseasoned potato quarters and an overly sweet sauce alongside some very limp asparagus spears. Thd Cliff House dining room is lovely and worth the experience but choose wisely when ordering. Service was efficient and the classical guitar music, excellent.
Just an amazing and different place. The waitresses were so sweet....
Just a really pleasant experience all around. Great service. Tasty food. Very good live music.
Really great overall experience. The chef hade a vegan dish for my girlfriend. Awesome!
Appetizer, salad was very flavorful. I had CO chicken breast not as flavorful as I anticipated. Excellent, attentive waiter.
We have gone to the Cliff House for years. It almost always has been excellent. This time things changed drastically for the worst. They had taken the best dish off the menu—the lamb. Evidently they had a new manager. We had two waiters. The gentleman was inattentive; the woman was wonderful. She picked up the slack. We first ordered drinks. My Old Fashion was terrible—I sent it back. They entirely forgot the amuse-bouche but brought it later after we asked if they had discontinued it. We asked for butter but never got it. They brought our appetizer which was a crab cake. Always been good, but this time it was “fishy” tasting. We sent it back. My salad was okay. We had the trout. Before you could do a split for $5. They no longer would do this. How difficult can it be? Instead they brought us two pates. Not good! The trout was very pedestrian. Certainly not worth the price. The soufflé was good. Unfortunately we won’t return to what was once our favorite place to go. Very sad!
Very poor service and I’m tired of using covid as an excuse. If you don’t have staff then don’t open.
1.5 hours to receive an undercooked trout. Really?
The seasoning on the trout was horrible. It was like taking your lawn shavings, adding some oil then blending.
Then they stuffed the folded trout with this mixture of pasture greens.
Couldn’t even swallow the first bite.
French onion soup had black pieces of something in it. I assume or hope it was charred soup and onions, no idea what it was.
Crab cake ok but it needs a moist garnish not just raw cabbage.
We were first table in. Fourth to be served and again, almost two hours for two of us.
This was a birthday celebration and most everything was perfect, except we were told the birthday woman would receive a special small birthday treat (dessert). Since there were 3 of us, we decided to order one regular dessert to split, which we paid for. It was delicious, but the additional birthday treat never arrived and nothing was said. I guess I could have mentioned it, but didn't want to seem greedy or embarrass my guest.
Our party had the trout and the scallops, both were superb. We started with the crab cakes, best ever! We loved the additional free appetizer chosen by the chef, a wonton cup filled with guacamole and ceviche, so flavorful. The homemade rosemary bread was to die for! Of course we couldn't make up our minds for dessert since all of the offerings sounded so unique and delicious...we each ordered one and shared...pumpkin creme brulee, chocolate decadence, lemon tart with thyme ice cream and the special, a Grand Marnier souflee...all so good! Can't wait to return to the Cliff House!
Very nice lunch. We were the only group in the dining room as most customers were outside on the balcony.
Wonderful & special service for our 50th Anniversary
Great service, terrific good! They accommodated a party of 8 with very short notice and much grace.
Excellent service, fine meal and an overall pleasant experience.
Highly recommend dining here when you are in Manitou Springs
We loved the Cliff House. The historic charm is abundant!
We did not think our entrees were prepared very good. The wait staff was pleasant, but we think that they need additional training.
The food wasn't cooked properly or worth the price. The caprese salad was underwhelming, hardly any basil was on it and it wasn't anything special. Trout main course was overcooked and dry, potatoes were overcooked, asparagus was undercooked. Elk main course was undercooked, nearly raw in some places and potatoes were overcooked. It was pleasant dining outside and the wine was good but was disappointed with the meal overall.
There was such a nice list of interesting entrees that I had a hard time deciding. The duck and salmon dinners that we had were excellent. The staff was prompt, very attentive.
The service was OUTSTANDING. Our waitperson was Tava - she was very knowledgeable about the menu, attentive, and friendly. The food was great and combined with the outstanding service from Tava, our experience was the best. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food was totally unacceptable. Did not even eat entree. Waitstaff didn't inquire when returning a full plate to the kitchen. Grocery store ingredients. Not at all up to its self promotion.
Cliff House was nice, but the view and ambience weren't quite what I expected. We sat on the porch, which was pretty at sunset, but there wasn't much of a view. It was really just a main street area at the base of the mountain and a partial view of Pike's Peak. The food was good but a bit under-seasoned/under-dressed. We went for our anniversary dinner and were a bit let down by our expectations. I think the restaurant should post more photos of the space to show people what the experience/ambience is actually like.
The duck was excellent! Service was great!
Birthday dinner for my grandmother. Lovely experience and beautiful place to have dinner. The Cliff house has so much history with amazing food and wine. Highly recommend the French onion soup. We did ask for the servers recommendation on wine and he pointed us to a very expensive bottle in which we went with a different one. He commented saying “I guess that’s fine for your price range”.
It’s a beautiful home and really fun to experience the history but I will say, the food was not amazing.
Christopher was and amazing professional and the chef cooked our meals to perfection. The elk chops were perfectly rare, and the tomatoes in the pasta primavera were cooked to the edge of bursting. Technically awesome and totally tasty. Would eat it all again in a heartbeat; as long as Christopher is serving
Absolutely wonderful. Friendly Service and staff. Definitely will be back.
French fries with a $14 sandwich should be fresh. They barely hot enough and wilted. They didn’t complement my BBQ sandwich. Salmon entree was good. Service was efficient but warmth or friendliness was absent.
My out of town guests loved the food and atmosphere! Thank yiu!
This was our first time to eat here with a large party of 11. The food was great and the service exceptional. We highly recommend.
Every course was excellent. All our entrees were perfect. Can't go wrong.
Beautiful ambiance, friendly staff and a quiet environment so we did not have to shout while dining! We also really enjoyed the appetizers — we ordered all three and enjoyed every bite. Thanks for such a great experience on Mother’s Day!
The service was excellent, and the food amazing. my husband had the trout and he said it was the best he had ever had. I had the filet and it was so tender and I really enjoyed the glaze on it. We had the orange suffle for desert and it was amazing. so light and enjoyable. perfect for after dinner. Loved the experience
Excellent food, fantastic service!
We had a wonderful dinner, a very friendly staff, and a very pleasant environment. Things are still a little weird because of covid restrictions, but they handled them nicely. I could have made a meal from the sweet potato gnocchi appetizer by itself. An after dinner drink on the veranda was a perfect finishing touch. It was an excellent meal without all of the baggage of large and noisy establishment. If you're looking for a big fancy restaurant with lots of frills, don't go here. If you want a high-class meal with professional service, this is the place. We would definitely recommend them for special occasion dinners,
Excellent food as always, very efficient and friendly staff who took care of our every need. Always a very enjoyable dinning experience.
Lovely room, attentive staff and excellent food! Enjoyed our leisurely dinner in a cozy corner...will return!!
