I have been staying in Manitou frequently over the last few months for business (I live about an hour away) and decided to treat myself to a fine dining meal. Christopher my waiter was fantastic and said their French Onion Soup was the best on this side of the Atlantic. He was not wrong. The scallops were cooked to perfection and had so much flavor. And the Basque Cheesecake was amazing. This was the first meal in Manitou I was happy with. Christopher welcomed me to town and we chatted a little about how we both ended up here and he gave me a little intel about places to live if I decide to get a more permanent place down here.

Wait staff were okay but arrival at 6:30 and still no dinner food at8:30 was unacceptable. Wait staff explained the kitchen was having difficulties and our beef carpaccio would be comped. Walkws out after two martinis and an Old Fashion plus the carpaccio for over $100. Music was good with a classical guitarist playing during the wait but our dinner was still not coming even as we left. Should have gone to the Broadmoor or Margarita's at Pine Creek. They have never failed.

It took so long for our food to arrive, we had to confirm multiple times it was still coming. First, the appetizers took almost 30 minutes and then another 30 minutes after that for our main lunch. No recognition that it was taking extremely long, just “yes, it’s coming”. Upfront staff were friendly. Not the waitress.

Lovely, old-fashiod dinner in a white tablecloth environment with a musician playing classical music quietly on his guitar. Amazing food and knowledgeable staff. Fancier than the surrounding chill tourist town of Manitou Springs.

Friday evening and should have known when there was only a total of 4 in the restaurant. Food was absolutely terrible and tasted like plastic. Cocktail was just as bad. Will never go back and I hope the food police show up and shut it down. Please take your date night somewhere else.
