This was our second visit during the NCAA Wrestling Tournament. Great food and service. Open Table got us right in despite the St Patrick's Day crowd. Downtown Cleveland was packed, but they were prepared and service was terrific. Nice beer selection on tap too.
My father in law and I decided to try Cleveland Chop for a nice steak after spending some time in Cleveland. We both ordered the Prime Rib, medium rare. The color was slightly brown and not very pink, the flavor just a touch salty, but the real issue was, it was stringy and chewy, leaving you feeling like you needed to floss for hours. The mashed potatoes were very runny.
The Ahi tacos were very good, as was the cornbread and wedge salad. Unfortunately, the “Main Event” just didn’t deliver, hence the low rating. Service was excellent and the soda pop was perfect, not flat or improperly mixed.
The drinks and food was amazing- we will be back for dining in the the future!
Great steak with excellent service.
It was a nice date night meal.
Far too expensive for the quality of food
Our waitress was great. Steak cigars were delicious. Prime rib was fatty and filet was overcooked. However, the manager waived our bill. That was great but disappointing for our first visit. Customer service was better than the food. They were not busy...
We went to this restaurant on a Saturday night to get a nice meal unfortunately that is not how it played out. The special for the night was a strip steak with a stuffed lobster tail. My husband and myself ordered this and we both asked for medium. I specifically asked if their medium was pink all the way through and the answer was yes. Our son ordered the filet oscar. My steak was so tough it was hard to cut thru especially since the waitress failed to give us steak knives. When the knives arrived it was easier to cut through but very difficult to chew! The waitress had another steak made for my husband because his was cooked well done but for some reason the meat was like white. Second steak came but was now rare and also was white. I know she was embarrassed and said she would ask if she could take something off. Just for the recored we are not complainers but this meal was awful. Waitress came back with our bill and nothing was offered off.
My son really enjoyed his steak so maybe they were just trying to get rid of a batch of bad steaks by teaming them up with the lobster which was nothing to write home about. The best part of the meal was the corn bread.
Our meal for THREE (3) people was $179.82 (not including the $35.00 tip to the waitress who forgot knives, forgot to take my sons wine order, forgot to change the TV at the bar so we could watch College Ball and didn't even offer a dessert or something when clearly the meal was a disaster. We didn't eat either of the steaks )plus $25.00 for parking.
Everything about this experience was wonderful. The food was incredible and the waitstaff professional. My only complaint is that the food was so good, I overate and felt a bit sick (but it really was from eating too much - nothing was wrong with the food at all). They even gave us a free dessert!
Great food, great service. Our server Brooke was awesome!
Excellent service. Did not catch gentleman's name, but very attentive and professional Server. Cool building/location with easy parking. Went for brunch. Food undesirable - frozen breakfast potatoes? Mimosas weak. 3rd time eating here and always mediocre food at best.
We had dinner during restaurant week. Service was excellent from arrival to departure. It was our first visit.
We went into Cleveland for restaurant week/date night. C-Chop had the best menu option for the price. Glad we did, our waiter Shawn was very personable, the food was fantastic which make it all worth it! We will definitely return to try other items on the menu
This was our first dining experience at Cleveland Chop and won't be our last! Great food, awesome service, just and overall perfect night out.
We visited last Friday evening and had a great time. Our server was very knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and hit the perfect balance of being engaged but not overbearing, and certainly didn't rush us. She even offered to take pictures of us after dinner, which was a nice touch. I believe her name was Dory!
The food was really good. The jalapenos cornbread was delicious, and we really enjoyed the calamari. I ordered the filet. It was delicious and cooked exactly medium rare, as ordered. My boyfriend ordered the bone-in ribeye, and it was cooked perfectly as well. Each steak came with your choice of a side. My boyfriend ordered the white cheddar mashed potatoes, and WOW. Sooo good. I ordered the crispy brussels, and while the top ones were delicious, the bottom half of the dish sat in an inch of oil, making them completely inedible. They definitely should have been strained :(
Overall, prices were reasonable, portions were great, and we really liked our server. 10/10 if not for the brussels!
Brooke, our server, was stupendous. She was very knowledgeable about the specials, the menu and she answered a multiplicity of questions. She also paired the entrées well with spirits and beverages.
Our dinner was made extra special thanks to Justin’s wizardry making cocktails in the bar, Dori’s exceptional service and safe guarding our forgotten credit card and Margaret’s help retrieving our card. Perfect 32 anniversary of steak and lobster tails!
Great service, great food! Def coming back!
This was a special occasion dinner and we were so pleased. The menu is extensive and the food was amazing. Great ambiance!
My wife and I eat out a lot and wanted some steak dinners for a belated valentines day. My wife asked for her steak to be medium. The steak came rare...and after taking the steak back to cook it more, the steak returned only the barest bit more done. I have come to the Chop for years and not had such an experience. It appears the chefs are phoning it in. We will not be returning.
Excellent Service and food. Would definitely recommend for casual or business dinner.
Sat everyone next to each other even though the restaurant was not crowded
Service was pretty slow. My steak was cooked medium and was still bleeding in the center. I order steak at many places and I always order it medium and it is never rare in the middle. The wine was good. All in all everything was fine, a little over priced for a random steak house.
Dory was a server. She was polite and attentive. Drinks were great and effective. Food was good and accommodating to my husbands request for scallops. Will return and recommend:)
The food came out quickly and was delicious! Got a complimentary brownie and ice cream for my birthday which was also amazing. Wine, dinner, and dessert. Can't wait to go back!
Absolutely perfect. They even brought me a Birthday brownie with ice cream. The food was fantastic and we were accommodated with a private booth just as we had requested.
Worth the 1/2 mile walk in freezing temps!!
Everything was fine
Food was fine
Will come again
Awesome! Delicious steaks! Great service! Good stuff
Slow or no service (at bar) overdone steak which they did provind a new one but for the price there are better places to go.
The food was near perfect. Both the appetizer and both meals we purchased were cooked perfectly and had a wonderful taste. The service was acceptable. Before dinner we sat at the bar. The service at the bar was nothing special, but efficient. It wasn't busy at all. Service at dinner was good, however, the waiter stated he was going to bring corn bread which never arrived. He was nice enough, but the service isn't what I'll remember.
Food was great. Server was less than enthusiastic. He seemed bored. A place like this needs servers that make you feel welcome. They are part of the experience too.
Amazing service. Great food. MUST TRY the chop margarita.
Terrific. Great food and wine!
In Cleveland for the night and wanted a local steakhouse. After reading lots of reviews and doing some research settled on the Cleveland Chop. I wasn't disappointed. The meals were great, the cornbread was extraordinary. The service was phenomenal and the prices were reasonable. (I would steer clear of the garlic spinach-- not good, at all). Definitely worth checking out!
We were in Cleveland just for the weekend and Cleveland Chop was a recommendation from the hotel we were staying. We were able to quickly get a reservation. Service and food were outstanding.
Excellent food an service
Cleveland Chop provides top notch food. My NY strip was amazing and the beer selection was good to with a nice local mix. The Platform -Porter was great and I enjoyed the Millersburg Ale. All four in my group said it was worth the price, high expectations were satisfied.
Very good food and excellent service. Would defiantly go again!
We randomly chose Cleveland Chop for dinner on Sunday. It was an excellent choice. The food, seating, cleanliness and staff were all wonderful. Our server Jovann could not have been better. It was a great experience and we wold definitely recommend it.
