Warm welcome. Tables well spaced. Comfortable. Charming service. Great food. And bliss, no music. Our only issue was, what with all the hard surfaces, when a really noisy lot turned up at the next table there was nothing to absorb the braying.
If you want to eat excellent food and enjoy conversation over it, Clarke's is hard to beat.
Every detail is polished, from the delicious, freshly baked bread to the teas and coffee after the meal. Emphasis is on the natural flavours of carefully sourced ingredients, with the aim of bringing these out to the full. Excellent wine list, albeit quite an expensive one. Staff are excellent, friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. Being consistently excellent over so many years is something that very few restauranteurs have achieved. Sally Clarke deserves every praise for her unwavering commitment to excellence.
Last time I went to Sally Clarke's must have been over 20 years ago. Decided to go for a valentines dinner. What was exceptional cooking then is no different now if not even better.
Go and enjoy the experience and if you are a meat eater try the veal chop. Excellent.
Beautiful little restaurant in Notting Hill. Welcoming staff combined with a very well executed menu. We spent £100 a head for three courses and drinks, which for food at this standard is reasonable. Would definitely recommend and we will come back for sure.

A mid week lunch outing. A well supported local’s restaurant. From the first greeting to us leaving the restaurant we felt as though we had been invited into a friends home. The staff were spot on. Michail was on the ball, had an eye on all of the tables, not in an intrusive way, making sure there was sufficient water and wine in our glasses. On the day we visited the clientele was how do you say it ? ‘mature’. We opted for the a’la carte menu and were impressed with the quality and presentation. Modern European, with a leaning towards traditional British fare. The delicious bread offered whilst waiting for the 1st course was wonderful. I could have stayed with that, a bit of cheese and the excellent bottle of Burgundy that Michail helped me choose. Starters: Taglioline, other pate. Mains: Deer and Scallops. Deserts: Mine; cheese to help the last of the wine go down and a clever pastry with a Turkish delight on the side (which looked delicious but I never got to try !!) The wine list is good and very sensibly priced.
Always flawless — and delicious!
Never visited this restaurant before but our appreciation of its qualities grew steadily from the moment of arrival to settling the bill. Food, ambiance and service were all first class. An excellent menu choice was accompanied by equally good and varied wines. Especially notable was the level of service: not only knowledgeable and professional but surprisingly speedy despite a very busy full house. Every member of staff had an eye to customers needs and the whole team worked together to achieve excellent results.
We are looking forward to the opportunity of another visit and have no hesitation of recommending Clarke’s to any discerning diner.

Clarke’s is one of our favorite restaurant in the world. A small unpretentious gem on Kensington Church St, we walked passed for months before we stepped in. Sally Clarke is a master chef, baker and restauranteur. If you’re in the Notting Hill area, it’s an absolute must.

Top class cooking and top class service from this old school restaurant in Kensington. Always packed with a well-healed Kensington crowd. Prices are high. No mineral water so take your own if you don't want filtered tap.
The perfect birthday experience for my guest. We wanted a quiet corner table, which is what we got, and our charming Australian waiter looked after us beautifully. The food was delicious, on every level and at every course. I shall be back.
I booked and went with friends who are vegetarian and didn't realise there are no real vegetarian options. The kitchen are happy to adjust meals, but I felt awkward that my friends felt more like they had awkward requirements. So many people are vegetarian these days I would have expected the restaurant to move with the times. It was good food and I would return but never with someone vegetarian unless the menu is made more accessible.
Always a terrific experience at Clarke’s. Truly one of the best restaurants in London. Sally and her staff are the finest. Cannot give higher praise! Michelin needs to take note.
I haven't been to Clarke's for a while and went with some dear friends from Chile. The food was delicious, using local ingredients imaginatively and the staff were great; helping us all though our choices. I will be back soon.
I had a wonderful dinner with friends last Friday night. The menu was excellent--only difficulty is choosing from so many great possibilities. Service, headed by Captain Theo, was excellent as well--warm but efficient. I would highly recommend for a great experience.
First time visit. Warm welcome, great service bread amazing. Did not have to wait for the food which was very good. Did not feel rushed at anytime. Will definitely book again
I love Clark’s and would never visit London without a visit. The ingredients are so beautifully sourced and so lovingly cooked. We were the table from hell. Changed numbers and times too frequently and two vegans and two gluten free and they dealt with it beautifully. Always have a good time there.
