   Just dined at Civico 1845 last night for the first time and had the most amazing experience! From being greeted by the most gracious hostess Carys, to our server Luca who accommodated our gluten free needs and was very knowledgeable about Celiac so we could dine without having to not worry about cross contamination. He provided excellent menu recommendations and was so attentive to our needs and allowed us to thoroughly enjoy taking our time without feeling rushed. The owner introduced himself and was so personable making sure we were having a pleasant experience. The restaurant ambience is vibrant and very nice. Kudos to the chef for making such tasty vegan and gluten free pastas. Everything we ate was fresh, homemade and delicious! I would give this restaurant a 10 out of 10 if I could!

   Having a reservation through OpenTable does absolutely NOTHING except give a false impression expectation. You still need to get into a line (20min) to check in. All the while, people in front of you, people that didn’t waste their time with OpenTable are placing their reservations. We then had to wait another 25 minutes for a table to open. No lie, we were seated 45minutes after our reservation time. The waiter did his best to make a bad experience good, but there is no good reason to create a reservation for Civico through OpenTable

   Great food and ambiance. Our server was the best! He was very attentive and accommodating and could not have been more friendly! He definitely made our dinner most enjoyable!! A must visit when you’re in San Diego!

   We sat outside and soaked up the spring evening bustle in Little Italy. The negroni lived up to the billing! Fresh foccacia was served in a brown bag along with just-made pesto...yum! We split the salumi board (amazing) and the whole branzino, simply prepared with potatoes and sautéed zucchini slices. Excellent food and excellent service. A perfect destination for an unpretentious date night.

   The BEST pesto! Perfectly prepared gluten free shrimp pasta. Fantastic service from our server, Wyatt. Great place to have authentic Italian. Highly recommended! A must-do in Little Italy SD!

    The ambience is charming and the service friendly and efficient…the food just wasn’t that remarkable. We have long had an inconsistent customer experience at this establishment, sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes merely average. This was disappointing for two reasons: we brought our omnivorous friends, and they found both their wine and meals average at best. As vegans, this place used to be the only game in town with their vegan menu, but it has stayed largely unchanged over the years while several new spots have begun to innovate and bring truly creative and exciting options to bear. Our meal was also just okay, and for those prices we feel they should do better.
