Best steaks around. Reasonably priced filet you can cut with a fork. Great homemade sauces!
My wife ordered trout and I had salad and soup. We enjoyed our meal and will return.
Excellent atmosphere, food and service. Cannot be the value at this restaurant.
Our dinner was outstanding, we were there for an anniversary dinner and it was an excellent choice
We have been to City Range about 25+ times in past 6 years. Usually our never-fail go to spot for birthdays and when guests come from out of state.
Sunday 10/21 was a special birthday with small party of 4. Arrived and were taken right to our table.
Jasmine and Casey were our servers and were quite good, efficient without being too intrusive.
Food is always good, we will usually stick to beef entrees.
prime rib(most excellent) 12oz cut
Black-Blue (small tenderloins with crab meat)
6oz petite filets(2 people)
Our sides were delicions- we highly recommend creamed spinach or blistered brussel sprouts
We had no dessert but were offered one to birthday person.
Value for 4 people eating top quality food cannot be beaten.
We will keep coming back
Sunday Brunch with out of town guest. We love to bring them here for Sunday Brunch with live Jazz in the main dining room. Food, service fantastic! Wow......
I love the City Range.....great place for lunch or dinner and cocktails a Happy Hour!
Once again the staff at City Range had the perfect table we asked for. Our server was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.
It was a pleasure. Food is always good, you can count on the restaurant to serve the same things done the way they should be.
Everyone was satisfied with our dinner and City Range !
Looks like it's great for families and not too expensive.
I had the meatballs and they were mediocre. They were hard and very dense and not much flavor. Since i ordered it as my main entree, I was disappointed.
One of our favorite restaurants for lunch. Great variety of dishes and the lobster rolls are incredible, just like in New England. Delicious soups, I always have the spicy butters etc., left off as I don't like spicy foods. Was pleased they changed the slaw, eliminating the jalepeno peppers. Have recommended City Range many times and friends have loved it.
Had the Balck and Blue. Asked for medium medallions and got close to well done. Flavor was OK, but the crabmeat on top was good. Comes on a slice of bread under the medallions which actually soaked up some of the juice and made them a little dry. Overall was pricy for what we got.
Overall, it was a memorable experience!
The only constructive criticism I would add is that I think you should offer a complimentary dessert for those celebrating birthdays. My friend and I were there celebrating our 50th birthday, and that would have really added a nice ending touch! We were disappointed when the server told us that the restaurant doesn't do that.
You will not be disappointed
Went here for our anniversary. Win some lose some. I had a steak which was good (not the best I have ever had, but no where near the worst). My wife had the crab cakes. She said they were "mushy". We lived in Maryland for a few years and know crab cakes are not supposed to be "mushy". I guess we should know better to order seafood at a steak house. Not likely to return.
Service was outstanding. Our server Lauren absolutely knows the menu and her recommendations were SPOT ON!! Thank you Lauren.
Overall good experience. Our service was great. The food was also great with the exception that both of our steaks were over cooked. We will definitely go back.
Good food, relaxing atmosphere, reasonably priced.
Anniversary dinner. Great food. I plan on visiting the next time we go to Greenville SC
Great and plentiful food and prompt and helpful service. However, the noise level with just the air conditioning was tolerable, and most people were conversing normally, but one ultra loudmouth was seated in a booth across from our table which helped expedite our exit. There's nothing you can do about that, though, and that's just the risk of eating in any restaurant.
Great place for a business lunch. Would recommend.
We went for restaurant week. I must have gluten free for my wheat allergy. They had scallops and grits on the restaurant week menu which was all gluten free even the sauce. It looked and tasted amazing. They even substituted the restaurant week dessert choices for a gluten free option. Excellent service everytime we have gone.
There was a large party that night which seemed to slow down service for everyone else. It was over an hour and 20 minutes from the time we were sat to the time that our meal was served.
Always a great place for my wifes birthday. She loves the menu especially the chicken.
The prices are creeping up, is the only negative.
Went for the Sunday Jazz Brunch. The music is nice but can be a bit loud making conversation difficult. Our best experience was our server--Liz was superb! Attentive, friendly, informative and helpful with selections, she made the experience memorable. The setting is attractive and comfortable with table and booth seating. A crab cake appetizer was ok but my wife thought it had a "fishy" taste (she is very particular about fresh seafood). Unfortunately, she then had a main course of crab cake which, again, had a similar taste. The prime rib was ok but not as good as some. Might want to stick with the breakfast offerings in the future.
When my sister visits from New York, Dhe always wants to go to City Range. She lives the Primd Rib.
Service was great. Food was ok, could have had more flavor/seasoning. The jazz band was awesome.
In town for a dog show and went to dinner with friends. Great appetizers. Excellent beer selection. GREAT waiter. Steaks were good and so was everything else including my sparkling wine.
A nice experience. Had the corn chowder as a starter followed by the burger. Spouse had a shrimp/pasta dish. The shrimp had a "fishy" taste so she did not enjoy it as much. All food otherwise good and a cut above many similar establishments. Our server was the outstanding part of the meal--Mark was attentive, fun, informative and never intrusive. The ambience is very pleasant and comfortable. Booth or table seating available. A bar also opens to an outdoor pavilion which is enclosed for a more pleasing setting than the view of the parking lot which would otherwise be visible. Will return.
Very good experience overall. Host stand sat my wife as I parked the vehicle we came in. When I came in she did not remember seating my wife who had just arrived. I waited for about 5 minutes before she realized that my wife had been sat and directed me to our table. Our server was very informative and bubbly. She had great knowledge of the menu and recommended what she thought would be great courses.
Family first visit to Greenville. Steak for Sunday brunch with live Jazz. Great food, service, atmosphere!
We rely on City Range for a wonderful meal at a very reasonable price. It never disappoints.
The filet was disappointing-gristle.
Food was slow to be served. Had to send back an undercooked piece of meat. My food was served cold
Eggs were over cooked - didn’t bring out the correct meal - had to have it returned twice.
The food, service and ambiance were, as usual, terrific. However, band was TOO loud and our group had to yell to tach other to be heard. Quiet themdown and I’m happy!
Had to ask for the missing ingredients for the salad. While waiting for the ingredient for the salad our main course arrived. Also desert said drizzled sauce however it only had 2 pin drops of drizzle. We have had the dessert before so we knew what to expect. Steak was great..
We go for lunch and always excellent. Lobster rolls are 5 star, just like the ones in New England. Clam chowder would be a great addition.
Good gluten free options
The food was delicious! The noise level was a little high for good conversation, but not unacceptable. The kitchen was very slow, and it wasn't crowded. When we alerted the hostess (who brought our entrees) that we had a time crunch, she apologized for the delay and gave a very generous discount. I will definitely give this restaurant another chance.
