10oz N.Y. Strip Steak. French fried potatoes, finished with red wine demi-glace
Traditional garlic, butter, parsley
Intimate atmosphere. Excellent service and delicious food.
Food is amazing! Staff is knowledgeable and accommodating.
Beautiful ambiance, fantastic food and wonderful service!
Early Friday night dinner. There is a door for the pub another the restaurant. The duck was very good and plenty. The bouillabasse was very salty. Couldn't finish the chocolate cake between the two of us.
Great service, and wonderful food. Interesting atmosphere and artwork
Great food, reasonable prices. Good service!
Excellent beet salad-generous blue cheese. Also very tasty grouper and trout v
Outstanding choice to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The wine list is terrific, the food fabulous, the service by Emily was superb. The management was very magnamous in sending over 2 glasses of champagne and the creme Brule was on the house.
Amazing service and the food was delicious! We loved everything.
Great atmosphere and great food. Would recommend to anyone for a special occasion.
Great dining experience. Staff was extremely attentive. Food was very good!
Great food and service. The only thing we’d change is the music selection.
Dined in for a birthday celebration. The restaurant was warm inside. I’m assuming the air conditioning wasn’t working because there was a machine with large pipe like vents blowing what felt like room temperature air into the restaurant. We were served our appetizers at all separate times. We ordered them together. Our server was nice and knowledgeable. She came by many times and apologized for food delays and once told us that the kitchen was backed up. I do understand that restaurants are short staffed but we were there a total of 3hrs. That’s a long time. Again with our entree courses, they were served staggered. My sister had mussels that were served over cooked and dried out with cold broth like they had been sitting in the window for a while. The server brought them to us with another bowl sitting on top as of to keep them warm under a heat lamp while waiting on other entrees to be ready. We did not eat them. My steak was prepared properly but did not come with the bordelaise as advertised in the menu. I had to ask my server for it. The steak was very good. I ordered a side of asparagus and it was over cooked again from sitting in the window along with the mussels as they were served by themselves before our other entrees arrived. We ordered the lavender creme brûlée and we all tasted it and couldn’t taste lavender at all. Not a hint. We asked the server if it was the lavender as they also serve vanilla. She said it was. It was also served paper thin. 100% not worth the price tag for it. I didn’t eat it. Probably some of the worst I’ve had. The dishes all in all were hot or miss for us. The truffled mash potatoes were dry. The crab cake appetizer was excellent. Truffle fries I liked. would’ve liked more if they were served with an aoli of some sort. This was one of those places with very high ratings but for me I most likely wouldn’t return. have to walk behind the expeditor line/service station to use the restRoom. service and food was too inconsistent.
The ambience was impeccable. The service and staff were great and the food was unforgettable.
Overall good food and service and charming decor. Husband had good cocktails and we really enjoyed the mussels and the onion soup. Frites and Caesar salad could use a little improvement. It’s a really unique place but we would have really liked to see more people in masks since we know there is no way we were the only people in the restaurant that weren’t fully vaccinated. For us that would have made the experience seem a bit better for such a tight space.
The food was wonderful but we would have been able to enjoy it more if the building wasn’t so hot! It’s not very enjoyable to eat dinner while your hair is soaked from sweat and you’re dress is sticking to you and your chair also from sweat. We were downstairs, so maybe upstairs was better!?!
Meh, it won't be a place we hurry back to.
We had a very good dinner at Circa 1875. Emily, our waitperson, was outstanding. Although we had a reservation we still had to wait about 25 minutes for our table. We were seated in the cellar, which was fine. There was a rather noisy group of ladies, presumably a bridesmaid group, who were quite boisterous. When our bill came we were comped our dessert because of the noise level, which was a nice gesture. The duck and steak were both delicious as was the berry tart we had for dessert.
We made reservation for two and arrived 10 minutes early. Hostess rudely pointed for us to to bar where we sat without greeting. Told we had to wait for someone to get us. When we were escorted to our table it was in the cellar, where there was a large table for a group and two small tables. We were very constricted. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. But the large table was a group of young women out to celebrate an occasion. They were very loud.
I felt that my friend and I were treated rudely by hostess and seated in such an undesirable table because we were two women dining alone. There was a support post that our table was pushed up against and I constantly was banging my arm against.
As much as we had looked forward to eating at this restaurant, we won’t be visiting again. My friend is French and she said it felt like being in Paris where rude behavior is commonplace.
Definitely one of my FAVORITES in Savannah! Feels like a mini-trip back to Paris. Trout serving was LARGE and cooked perfectly, the Short Ribs were so tender they melted in your mouth. Our server was wonderful. A perfect evening!
Our very favorite restaurant in all of Savannah! Delicious food and outstanding service.
We went for our kids 18th anniversary. We were in the lower level underground. Matt was are server and he was attentive and some what charming. The cheese plate was rather plain with little accompaniments. The onion soup was not overly salty and nice cheese bread on top. Mussels were nice. The salad frisee was nice with egg on top. The beet salad was tasty. The duck breast was excellent and the scallops were very rich and creamy. The desserts were great. Creame brûlée was done right with a wonderful crust. The chocolate mousse was rich and smooth and not jelly like. The chocolate layer cake was perfection.
Place is pricey but we were treated well and not rushed.
Perfect restaurant to celebrate a wedding anniversary.
Sea bass was absolutely amazing & and NY strip was delicious as well. Our waiter Alajandro (sp?) was delightful, informative and personable.
Great place! Great atmosphere! DELICIOUS food!!! Great value!!
The mussels are to die for, the steak frite was TASTY, super well prepared(perfect medium), VERY satisfying!! Service was great all around! Will definitely recommend it! Will definitely be back!!!!!
We had an excellent meal and some outstanding drinks. A great experience that we hope to repeat!
Excellent, efficient, and knowledgeable waitstaff. Food was delicious and presented elegantly. An upscale French style decor with southern charm!
Can’t wait to return ...
We were in Savannah for the weekend and had made reservations for weeks. We showed up at 8:30 and it was 9:15 and we still didn’t have a table! While we waited, we were sitting at the bar area that only had one seat and sat using chairs at a table nearby as we were tired. We were yelled at for using a chair from the table. We kept asking for the table and they decided to put a ban on serving us anything to drink besides water. The food was just average and lots of French fries and nothing special! Service was so poor! Not worth making a reservation!
Incredible food prepared perfectly and great service. A tough combination to beat.
The best french onion soup in the world (I have been to France). The Duck was fantastic also
A romantic setting for dinner transports you back in time with elegance and delicious food . Pseudo Caesar salad was superb, four gras and crab cakes sublime. Fantastic meal to celebrate our 37th anniversary!
The food was horrible. The steak was chewy, the chicken was very dry and smelt like it had been boiled. The mashed potatoes and green beans were good. My overall experience is I expected better food from this type of restaurant.
Outstanding service & spectacular food!
We added this restaurant to our visit to Savannah for graduation weekend.
Disappointed that they could not take us at the time we made the reservation. We had to wait over 20 minutes for our table (why do you take reservations if you are not going to honor them?).
Our waiter (Andrew) had more service attitude than knowledge about serving wine... he insisted on filling all 4 wine glasses in the first serving so that we could take the empty bottle.
Food was good but a bit pricey for the money
Coming from a culinary town, this was overall average. Not great, but not bad.
French onion soup was very good. The rest of the food we ordered was not the best. Entrees came out 1 hour late and not warm
Intimate, elegant but not pretentious. Waiter very knowledgeable about the food and wine and seemed to enjoy his job. The decor is busy but fun. The restaurant bar is next door with separate entrance so the noise from patrons waiting there for tables was not heard. The only complaint is that the chairs are awful, extremely uncomfortable. We are small people, and I cannot imagine how tall or large folks could enjoy sitting in the inadequate seats for more than a few minutes.
The Circa was a wonderful experience with really good food and ambiance. The place is small so you must get a reso before going but you will surely miss one of the best wonders in Savannah.
