Food was just awesome, I had the Trout and partner had Duck Breast, they were both great, service was very good, table was waiting on us, we were seated in minutes.
Fantastic food taste and portions... server was a little grumpy but was also amusing at times.
This was our second time and it was a wonderful experience! We had a wonderful waitress, Emily! She was very knowledgeable and gave great advice. We just love the atmosphere and the food! Definitely one of our go to’s when visiting Savannah!
Fantastic experience in Savannah! The Restaurant and bar transport you to Paris. Authentic and ambient feel to the place. The hostess was welcoming and helpful in organizing a table. If you’re in Savannah... don’t miss it!
A delightful surprise! Our first visit was a very good experience. Charming French decor, a cozy vibe, good food and excellent service. My husband especially loved the escargot!
Having been coming here for several years on our way to Florida. We have always had great food and service. This year we were disappointed in both.
The service and food are excellent.
Everything about this restaurant was great. Will definitely go again.
It was average. The menu had very little to offer my spouse
Superb as always. My favorite place in to dine in Savannah.
My husband and I reserved a table by the window on a Saturday evening, hoping that we could chat during our date, but noise did not allow us to have a full conversation. There was a table of four beside us who interrupted us and tried to chat with us and help us order our meals. Apparently they are regulars and knew everyone who worked there, so it was their night and we were just living in it. The waiter couldn't hear over the noise and wrote down my order wrong and we had to wait until my order went in again, so my husband's food was put back in the oven to keep warm. It was so noisy my husband and I kept leaning over to hear each other and were yelling at each other at one point so we could hear each other. The service was really slow and there was barely any room for the waiter to go between our tables. We ordered steaks and truffle fries and it was fine. I don't think it was worth the noise and the ambience of the place. I just wanted to place this review here so that people would know what to expect. I think that if you are looking for a noisy place with a big party, this would be great, but if it's quiet and romance you are looking for, this is not the time or place.
This was a neat place. Very French Circa 1875, pun intended. The escargot was okay; lacked salt. I’ve had better. The foie gras was good. It was served with a piece of toasted wonder bread and this tangy cherry sauce. The sauce made the dish but it also made the bread soggy af. It didn’t like a toasty or crusty bread. The duck was great; good perfectly. Overall I was expecting more for the value and all the reviews. Our server was great though.
Great French atmosphere and signature dishes. A very enjoyable evening.
Always have a fabulous experience at Circa 1875. They were very busy since it was New Year's Eve and they still delivered outstanding service and the food was spectacular. Recommend them highly every time!
Food was outstanding. The service was outstanding. Enjoyed the whole experience!!
Wow, what a poor experience. So many recommended this place however this was our worst dinner during our entire 10 day vacation through St Augustine, Charleston and Savannah. First off, we arrived about an hour early for our reservation. I asked if we could sit early while mentioning that we were fine to have a drink in the bar if they could not accommodate us. The hostess was extremely annoyed at our request even though the restaurant was 1/3 full and there was no way they were going to turn the table prior to our reservation time. Second we were told that the torchon was not available that evening as the chef was too busy to make it. I get that it is a long process to make however we were dining at that restaurant specifically for that dish so we were disappointed. Instead of the torchon we decided on the pate for an appetizer. It was tasteless with the exception of the bacon it was wrapped in which was a big miss. I then had the cassoulet for dinner. Another big miss. While the sausage and duck were ok, the beans were hard and inedible and the sauce tasted like curry. My husband had the duck breast. The fat was not rendered and the skin was rubbery rather than crispy. No need to say more about that as those that like duck know the skin should be crispy. We skipped dessert as there was no point continuing the disappointment. On a positive note, the bread and better is quite lovely. Lots of other great restaurants in Savannah to try, skip this one.
This was a celebration for my wife's birthday and we brought along our good next door neighbors. The food, wine, service and atmosphere were impeccable. We truly had a great time and a wonderful experience. I'd recommend Circa 1875 to everyone.
We may have returned to Savannah just to eat at Circa! Fabulous everything! Perfectly prepared escargot, trout, and steak frites paired with a reasonably priced Cabernet Franc.
Loved this place - food was outstanding, incredible customer service, loved the ambience. Great meal, and they took care of us on a special occasion. Next special night in Savannah I'll be back.
Wonderful evening dining in the wine cellar for dinner with a nice bottle of Lemenson pinot noir.
My wife’s salad was crisp fresh greens and my pate was delicious.
The lamb shank special was tasty.
My wife’s steak on the second go was hot and the accompanying sauce was delectable
Look forward to coming back again on next trip to Savannah
Great food Escargot was amaizing and beet salad with pistachios was creative.
Best place in Savannah i always will go back. Mary is an amazing server
This is the second time we have eaten here. I had the trout both times. It is too delicious to overlook. The ambience is wonderful. Our server was helpful but not overly solicitous. All in all, a wonderful experience.
The dish I had was a pan seared trout that was one of the best fish dishes I have had ever. I enjoyed it and was delighted with the many options on the menu - it made a choice difficult but I was extremely satisfied with my selection and its preparation. It was a wonderful dining experience my last evening in Savannah.
The food, the staff, and the service always combine to deliver an excellent evening full of camaraderie.
Our server was wonderful as always and the staff made our night out with out town family truly a Early Christmas!
Always a "go to" restaurant in Savannah. Food and service are top notch.
The server and food were excellent!
Felt like I was in Paris.
Food and service was outstanding.
We met friends and celebrated my husband birthday here . We enjoyed the ambiance and the food. The dishes were authentic French food . I enjoyed my lamb with couscous. This is a great place to eat especially for couples. Bon Appetit!!!!
Great service & food
We always had a special time at Circa. The service is attentive, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is lively and inviting. Saron is an expert behind the bar who crafts the best cocktails in the city; Mary, Dream, and indeed the entire team serve with precision and professionalism; David, the chef prepares what must now be his signature Lamb shank that I believe is served in heaven, and Monica, the implacable Manager is always gracious yet willing to step in when servers need a hand. Circa was the restaurant that made us move to Savannah. It remains one of the many reasons we stay. I can not recommend the restaurant enough for the joy it offers.
Dream our server was very helpful in suggesting items to try. She was very attentive.
The food was excellent as was the service. Wonderful wine list.
My only criticism was that we were seated near the door despite the fact that we came at 6:30 and there were quieter tables further inside.
Once again, open table treated as a second class citizen in Savannah.
However, because of the food would definitely go back
Great experience, overall. We went for our anniversary, and was very impressed. The atmosphere is phenomenal and the food was very good. I would definitely recommend.
This was a great evening, it was our anniversary and we were not disappointed with choosing this restaurant. Our wait-person was great, she was busy but gave us attention when we asked but did not hover over us. The ambience of the restaurant reminded us of restaurants in New York and Paris.
Food was tasty, but the service let’s this place down. Based on the other reviews we were disappointed.
Just loved the food the atmosphere and service was beyond excellent.
Don’t miss this place on your visit to Savannah.
Our server was often nowhere to be found we were asking other service staff to assist us. Overall I don’t think I would return but thank you
Nice setting and good service. Food was subpar. Escargot and chicken liver first corses were good and enjoyed. Double pork chop was flavorful but dry. Fish served was also over done and dry. Chocolate mousse was too sweet. All this and prices were no. bargain.
