It feels like a New York restaurant because it is a little loud, but not too much, and that gives it a festive feel. The service was outstanding and the food quite good. We (4) had and highly recommend the shrimp scampi, spinach gnocchi and a pizza (great moist crust!). The crema brûlée and cheesecake were also very good for dessert. We’ll be going back.
Always great food and service.
Thank you to the very talented team at Cipollina! My friend and I had an amazing experience from start to finish. Proud to have you in Austin!
This place is such a hidden gem. The food is excellent, and the staff is welcoming and friendly. Cipollina is the perfect place to catch up with a friend. Zach & the staff are the best!
Nice neighborhood eatery with nice ambiance service and fresh food. Accommodating waitstaff was a joy!
Great neighborhood spot. Food was simple and delicious. The service was great, we were a party of four and our waiter was amazing.
Very good food, pizzas are the best !!! the place is ok, it can be more cozy but is fine. Staff is very friendly !
One of our favorite Italian gems!
I think Cipollina is an excellent mix of food, service and ambiance. You can go dressed up or casual and feel at ease. Like Brussels Sprouts get them here
The restaurant is small and has an intimate feel. The food is pretty standard Italian-American fare, well-prepared and well-proportioned. The garlic knots are an excellent appetizer and the brussels sprouts are a very tasty side. The bread on the caprese sandwich is better than most--not too thick or too crunchy. We will be coming back to try other items on the menu.
Always an awesome dinner out
Love this place! Excellent food. Casual atmosphere & nice people.
Loved it was a neighborhood place not a chain. Kimberly provided outstanding service. The boldness and scampi were delicious. The wine list was moderately priced.
We are so lucky to have Cipollina in our neighborhood.
Get the chicken parm, t'was perf. Salads were good too!
Cute restaurant, very quaint and cozy. Food is decent and service was attentive.
A hidden Gem!
Best prosciutto pizza in town!
The meal was wonderful (we had pizza, salads and mussels). The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They were very COVID-considerate with masks and socially-distanced tables.
My only complaint (request) is that they add non-alcoholic beer to their menu. Us sober folks still like the taste of beer when eating pizza. Maybe something from Athletic Brewery or even just Heineken 0.
Great service and great food!
Food was pretty good and at a decent price. The inside and ambiance was fairly sterile though and didn’t seem to have a lot of effort into maintaining it.
Everything was great!
The acoustics were bad - could not hear my lunch partner at all -
The waiter was so wonderful I told him we were taking him home with us.
The ambiance has always been - and still is - so charming and romantic.
My shrimp scampi was to die for!!
Cipollina always delivers the perfect neighborhood dining experience, whether you live in the hood, or not. Reliably consistent food and service at a great value sustains this spot and keeps it going.
Super attentive staff and great food!
From Jersey so we judge Italian harshly. Calamari app ok, meager portion. My mom's chicken parm had a bone in it. Bolognese so so. Scampi same. Only good dish was spinach gnocchi. We should have stuck with texmex food down here.
Based on the reviews, maybe our expectations were too high. We were expecting an intimate little neighborhood restaurant, not upscale but nice. It’s not. It’s super casual, felt more like a pizza place. It’s pretty loud, too. The food was just okay. We had calamari (tasty but a bit dense), mussels (overly large with a strong taste in a watery broth), halibut (fish was nicely cooked, broth was good, but the veg medley under it was A) not what was listed on the menu and B) definitely an afterthought and way undercooked), and chicken parmigiana (huge portion, chicken was a bit rubbery, pasta was good but the dish was just basic). Our server was friendly and efficient, but we were informed at check-in that we had “a firm 90 minutes” for our reservation. I think if you live in Clarksville, it’s probably a go-to spot for ease, but we won’t go out of our way to get there.
So sorry to say that after going to our neighborhood for years, I won't be returning. Mediocre experience all around.
Amazing experience! The staff took good care of us!
A true Austin gem! Our whole family loves this restaurant! The staff is wonderful, the food is excellent (home made pasta!) and it’s very reasonably priced. Great for a special occasion or anytime you’re in the neighborhood.
Great neighborhood spot, I feel very at home here.
So nice to be back. Perfect dinner. Arugula salad, halibut divine and wine so fine. Want to have it again tonight!
I ordered a tad too much
They NEVER disappoint! Classico pizza, halibut, meatballs, caesar and arugula salads, with a nice Barolo wine, along with the impeccable service, and bistro ambience - simply wonderful! We frequent this restaurant weekly. Love it so much!!
Love this restaurant! It has been and remains one of our absolute favorites over the years. Thank you Cipollinas!!
Cipollina pizza is the best in town. Wine list is always on point- you don't have to pick a super expensive bottle for excellent quality either. Bravo to Sommelier & chefs there!
The service was great, and the food was good. I liked the spinach gnocchi in particular. We will return.
Very good pizza and appetizers
There were four of us for dinner on a Monday evening and we made our reservations via OpenTable. They have a couple tables outside on the sidewalk and the inside tables all at a distance. The server was nice and did a nice job having the food come out at a great pace. The pizza was very good and the spinach gnocchi was also very good. Creamy sauce. Only hang ups from me: only beer and wine, no wine specials on a Monday, interior ambiance left a lot to be desired, and parking is limited.
Had a lovely meal last night at Cippolina’s. White bean purée, arugula salad and chicken Parmesan...just what we wanted👍🏻. Our server welcomed us back after a long absence. Felt like home😊
Dont let this review keep you away, this was the only fail we've experienced here. But first, the wood fired veggies..TAKE IT OFF THE MENU, the flavors were good, but the asparagus was stringy, chewy, I almost gagged and choked. Asparagus is tricky..it has to be cooked right, then the leak/onions were so slimy I gagged. Ut is a horrible combo. Go back to the beats and potatoes. Server was a sweet guy, but very slow and inattentive. The bolagnaise noodles were limp and over cooked. Just a rough kitchen day. But we will go back, it was just an off day.
