Chancery Lane’s Cigalon brings the finest Provencal cuisine to London.
Set up by Pascal Aussignac of Club Gascon fame in 2011 the restaurant received glowing reviews for its well priced and varied Provencal menu set within the chic surroundings of a former auction house.

Diners enjoy the best of the South East of France and Corsica in dishes rarely seen here in the UK. Combining earthy flavours of the countryside with lighter coastal dishes, the menu provides a varied choice, accompanied by delightful wines from the same region. Secluded booths, banquette seating and a luxurious private dining room all enhance Cigalon's beautiful interior.

In the basement below sits Baranis bar where bespoke cocktails are enjoyed over a game of pétanque.

Food was good mostly - apart from the bread brought out at beginning of meal which was stale. Our complaint was the service which was mostly non existent. Felt forgotten about most of the meal - very little attention from staff and quite a cold attitude. Took forever for waiter to finally bring us the wine we ordered right at the beginning of the meal and they then really struggled to open the bottle. The person who took and brought food orders seemed really inexperienced as well and had to re-read her notes on the specials to remember what sides they were accompanied with. Due to extremely slow service the meal took a lot longer than expected. The restaurant was not at all busy so not clear why everything was so slow and waiters seemed so absent from our table.

The food was ok, but there is a real lack of options - just 3 dishes to choose from for mains with one of those being vegetarian it left just a choice of red meat or fish I don't mind a simplified menu but this was perhaps cut back a bit too far

We had the 5 course tasting menu for a mid-week celebration dinner. Good range of flavours and textures with southern French themes. Excellent wine list.

Second visit in the space of a few weeks! Great low key ambience and a lovely setting. Food is wonderful and the service is attentive. Perfect for a Chancery Lane business meeting.

We went for dinner in the evening, and the restaurant was very quiet -nearly desert. Which was nice but lacked a bit of atmosphere. Overall a decent experience, not the cheapeast place given the food.

Nestled in the City this gem is hidden but worth discovering . The service is impeccable and the ambience quiet and allowing friends to catch up. The food is adventurous and I can vouch for the cocktails . Will be heading back soo.
