We really enjoyed the service, portion sizes and the quality of the food. Thanks!
The food was okay, but the price we paid for everything was way overpriced. The portions were small and there was not much flavor in the dishes that were ordered. There was 8 of us that ordered 8 different things, and over all, we rated the food a 6 out of 10.
Service and drinks were excellent.
Although the service was extremely good, we were not impressed by the food quality and limited menu options.
They managed to make a last minute booking for a special occasion something wonderful and memorable with awesome small thoughtful touches.
Birthday dinner for three. Everyone had the tasting menu.
Really nice little bites. Arancini was perfectly cooked. Fried polenta had a great texture and the home cured calabrese salami added heat and lactic sourness. Ricotta cake was delicious.
2. Crostini with ricotta, pistachio, balsamic, and house made mortadella. Excellent flavor, bread maybe just a touch thick.
3. Agnolotti w/ truffle ricotta. Delicious. Great texture, seasoned perfectly.
4. Boar ragu with tagliatelle. Nice rich ragu, boar has a great tooth to it. Pasta is excellent.
(Palate cleanser: blood orange sorbetto) tasty but maybe a little too large, and definitely a touch sweet.
5. Pork cheeks with parsnip puree and carrot/parsley 'gremolata'. Mega tender, delicious sauce. Gremolata very pretty and added some much needed acidity and vegetal character as well as crunch. I'm nitpicking here but maybe a finer chop on the carrot/parsley so it doesn't defiantly flop off the fork.
6. Cannolo and pistachio gelato. Really nice ending. Nothing was overly sweet and the cannolo had a nice light texture as did the filling.
The kitchen is bang on with seasonings. This is something that is fundamental, and they did perfectly.
Server was on their game but was a little shaky on the wine pairings. Otherwise a great job.
Cocktails were very good. Nice riffs on classics!
Very happy with the meal. We would absolutely recommend!
It got pretty noisy as the night progressed. Food was good but pricey. My ravioli dish
was delicious, nicely presented & twice too much. We'd rather have smaller portions
and it be less pricey!
Service was prompt, helpful, and friendly. Menu selection was unique and interesting as was the dishes we ordered. Only issue was the online menu contained items (entire product line of beer) no longer available.
Overall a very good date night location. The food was amazing as well as the service. The location is very small and isn’t anything special inside, it is pricey but well worth it.
Absolutely awesome experience. One of the best restaurants in the city
I was very disappointed that 15 minutes before the reservation we were advised it was a tasting menu because I had specifically chosen the restaurant because there were multiple vegetarian options and the tasting menu forced us to have no choices and to get the tasting menu that we didn’t want but at 15minuted before it was far too late to change our reservation or make another. I was disappointed that we had to pay for the tasting menu when we were told in advance.
A bit surprised to find a set menu on our visit. Was told that I had been contacted about it, but had not. Although the food was great, I was a bit disappointed by that.
Excellent service and great food! Nice place!!
We’ve eaten here several times and this is our first bad experience. Our waiter brought us the carbonara instead of the carpaccio. I told him it was fine and he asked if we still wanted the carpaccio. I said sure. It took too long to come. We had to ask for the bill before it arrived. The carpaccio came and we had to ask for it just to be boxed up. We had to ask for the bill a second time. Our waiter wasn’t around a lot. We were disappointed to see that we were charged for both the carbonara and the carpaccio after the difficulties of getting served. This wasn’t our error. It was your waiters and should have been treated as such.
I was extremely disappointed in a pasta dish--rigatoni with beef short ribs, toasted hazelnuts, some greens (not sure, tasted like rapini although said braised radicchio ?). I'm sorry I didn't send it back but just left it half eaten. I did explain to the waitress what I thought was wrong with the dish. There was a heavy taste of vinegar which overpowered the dish. The beef ribs were stringy and the rigatoni were bare, with no sauce and so tasted bland and heavy. It was disappointing as it was a special evening, treating my daughter for dinner and theatre. I thought the server might offer a dessert in compensation, however, I didn't ask and so perhaps it wasn't common to do this. The pasta dish was $30.
Our first impressions were good. After1.5 hours of waiting for our food the waitress offered us a loaf of burnt bread that was frozen inside. Several other guests were seated, had their meal and left while we waited. I asked to see the manager. He came charging out. No apology. No explanation. Most bizarre experience. I am sure the waitress forgot to put in our order in. A simple truthful explanation would have resolved the fiasco. A serious disappointment
Kitchen was very slow and after waiting along time the mains arrived barely warm.
The waiters was amazing! She took her time and was tjere whenever we needed her.
While the food was tasty and the location is inviting, the service alone made me not want to come back. Having made a reservation hours earlier, my girlfriend and I arrived 5 minutes early only to be told our table wasn't ready. We then waited for 20min before we could sit, to which our server basically paid us no attention. Our food was good, if very small, and although our appetizer came out almost immediately our main course took more than an hour to come (the place was not packed). The entire experience made us feel like we were not welcome, and so I would not recommend choosing this place.
The food, what there was of it, was quite good.
I found the home made sourdough to be very heavy.
The salt crystals on it were quite unexpected.
The service was friendly.
The cost was outrageous for the food received.
Never have I seen so little food for so much money.
Based on the menu's prices I expected to see a complete meal.
What I got was a small main dish missing vegetables.
The ravioli were to die for! Definitely a must try. The space is cute but is a little cold. For the amount of money they charge I would like to see a space a tad more exciting. Also, a 9 oz glass of wine would be preferred. I opted for a cocktail which was nice but with Italian, I would have preferred wine.
Everything was excellent as always. Had the cod which was perfectly done, husband had pasta which he said was very good. The salumi is something which we always have as it is super delicious and a very hearty appetizer
Felt the food was just average, had higher expectations. Restaurant environment was nice though.
The service, drinks, and food were excellent. We were two people short on our reservation and it was no issue with the staff. Our server was very professional and attentive at the right times. We will be back!
We went to Cibo on a Friday at the last minute. We were lucky to get a reservation as the restaurant was quite busy. We shared everything. Appetizers were very good. We had the salad and the ricotta crostini. We ordered two pastas to share for our mains. We waited an inordinate amount of time for our pastas to arrive and then were disappointed to find that they were lukewarm at best. While the flavours were delicious, the pastas had obviously been sitting out for awhile. We noticed food was very slow to come to other tables as well. Cibo is not an inexpensive meal, so we hope that the issue was a one-time thing, perhaps due to a short-staffed kitchen, because normally we really enjoy this restaurant.
I treasure every visit to Cibo. The food, wine, service and ambience never disappoint. One of the best venues in the city. Always. Thank you Chef Rosario Caputo.
Very cold in there. Foot was very greasy
We were very excited to try Cibo after hearing so many great things but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. All of our appetizers were great, we really enjoyed the cocktails and the ambiance of the place was really nice. However, our main courses were very salty and the pasta was very firm. Our waitress was so-so. I would give it another go because I have heard great things from other people but I was very disappointed.
Extremely slow service!
Overpriced, and small portions.
Amazing food and wine. I was just in Italy this summer and it took me back to Italy! What a gem if a place. Service was outstanding.
Server was amazing and so was the food. Great spot!
We had the tasting menu. We enjoyed it very much. Food was well seasoned and tasty. Ashley was very attentive and provided wonderful service!
We had an excellent evening. Everything we had from food to wine was top notch. Service was stellar as well. One of our top meals in the city for sure.
We had a very nice experience. Food was good, octopus was excellent as was the service
A group of 6 of us wanted to go for our annual Christmas celebration dinner out. We chose Cibo Bistro because we had wanted to have a wonderful Italian meal and heard this was a place to try. After ordering, we didn’t get our appetizers for about an hour. Our drinks were running low and we even had to get our server’s attention to order more drinks. Now one would think selling more drinks would be a smart way to increase the total bill. We were pretty hungry by the time the appetizers came and quickly finished the course. An hour passed by the time the pasta course was served. As a group, we chose the family style dining and decide to order most of the choices on the menu so it could all be shared. Our server advised us that it may be too much for a group of 6 so we cut back a couple of our appetizer choices. Once the pasta was served, we were shocked at the size of the “family” style dishes. We literally had a few pieces of gnocchi and ravioli each. This “teaser” of pasta just made us more hungry. Another hour passed and we were getting impatient. Finally. we told our server to just bring the rest of our food out all at once since an hour between courses is waayyyy too long. We were told our food would just be another 10 minutes. 40 minutes later there was no sign of our food and we were beyond impatient and hungry. It made us even more upset when we saw other tables around us getting their food and finishing their meal when they were seated long after us. We made the decision to politely let our server know that we are happy to pay for what we’ve eaten but we cannot wait any longer for the rest of our food. Our server returned to our table to inform us that they will take care of what we had ordered so far and apologized. We left very hungry and disappointed.
The worst part of the experience is that the manager did not come to speak to us to at least explain what the delays were about. They have lost customers for life and gained negative word of mouth.
Excellent as always!
Celebration dinner was hosted flawlessly!
Nice, quiet location in Oliver. Everything from the food to the service to the ambiance was top notch. My partner and I had the tagliatelle as well as the steak (both were delicious) and a small thing that was a nice touch was the dishes came portioned out to each of us rather than having to cut and portion the dishes ourselves. Definitely would recommend this place and will be coming back soon.
Amazing food, will be back!
Delicious food and great food. We were a group of 7 and sampled almost the whole menu. Everything was fantastic. The arancini are a must. It's a smaller restaurant with a great atmosphere. Cocktails were delicious and the service was great. Would definitely come back for a date night or a special occasion.
