Our meal was outstanding, and the service was amazing. Our server Heather was great, and the live colonial musician was so talented. I’ll definitely be going back.

Fantastic, charming tavern with great service and wonderful food. I had the steak dinner and others in my party had the fried fish and fried chicken. One person opted for the crab topping and there was enough to share with the others. I also had the pease soup which was excellent. We chose the apple pie for dessert and added vanilla ice cream. The pie came with cream to pour over the pie and it was all very tasty. The ice cream was amazing. If you can, request Roxie as your server. She was excellent in every way, professional, courteous and fun. We loved her.

The ambience is what you’re dining here for. The setting and environment is exceptional. However, the food was forgettable, probably the least favorite of all the places we ate all week. Casa Pearl, Yorktown Pub, Dog Street Pub, and Indian Fields Tavern were all much better.

Christiana’s was warm, inviting, and delicious!
You begin with Sweet Potato muffins. It’s like a nugget of pumpkin pie. I dined on the Fried Chicken. All pieces were very juicy. Remember, these are Colonial times, do not expect multi-seasoned skin. It’s delightfully crunchy but it’s meant to keep the chicken from becoming dry. The mushroom vegetable medley was a perfect companion to the chicken.
The sweet tea is wonderful. The service perfect.
Enjoy your dining experience as you transport back in time.

We were pleasantly amazed at the quality of the food. This is an historic tavern so there was some re-enactment going on, which was informative.

What a treat. Great experience at Christiana Campbell’s Tavern. So much history and fun here! We were especially thankful to have a server that looked out for our list of food allergens, always letting us know what was safe to eat and/or share at the table. The food was delicious and the service was superb. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

Well to start off a lot has changed since the pandemic. This includes colonial tavern dining. No extras! No story telling or strolling musicians during your dinner. Also no potatoes, what is that about ? Not everyone cares for spoon bread yuck! Don’t need to go back for a long time!

We enjoyed the delicious authentic dishes while listening to time period music being played room to room by a colonial musician. My kids loved their food and punch drinks. Our server was friendly as were all the tavern staff. The prices are a bit higher than we prefer for a family outing, but the experience was one of a kind. Highly recommend.

Soup was luke warm. No bread was served which is a normal item to be offered with a meal and always was in the past(sweet potato muffins & baby biscuits)Meat was flavorless. Did not appear to have any seasonings added. “Roasted “ vegetables were virtually raw as were the green beans. Have eaten at Christiana Campbell’s for almost 40 years whenever we visit Williamsburg. Always looked forward to the dining experience they provided. Does not appear that past quality is any longer applicable.
Very disappointing experience.

Reservations are a must. We had reservations for 6:30 and were sat on time. Hostess was friendly and we were sat in a room with about 6 other tables, mostly made up of couples. As stated in other comments, it does get loud but not overtly. Food was excellent, there was a bit of a wait for our cocktails and our service overall was very good. I would also recommend eating later to get the full experience with eating at the tavern. Period music performed by a skilled musician was a very nice touch. Also, it is true that the prices are lofty but that’s due to the tavern being located in Colonial Williamsburg and the experience of dining “in” the 18th century.

We loved the authenticity of the Tavern from the decor and dress of the staff to the music and menu! The food was absolutely delicious!
It was exciting to eat in the same space George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and others did,.. eating the same food! (Only negative was the price,..it’s sadly quite expensive.)

We booked a reservation a month in advance to ensure we were able to get in. The room we were seated in was very quiet and quaint. The service was exceptional and we were given recommendations. We had the to fry fish and the crab cakes with the pease soup. Everything was very tasty- including the sweet potato muffins and spoon pudding that was served with the meal. We considered dessert but we decided against dessert this time. The music was also very complimentary of the experience as they provided history while singing some tunes live during our dinner. I would definitely come back to try other dishes!

Christiana Campbell's is known for delicious seafood offerings (although there are other items on the menu), mini sweet potato muffins and spoon bread. We enjoyed the "seafood pye" stuffed with a lobster claw and tail, shrimp, scallops and fish under a flakey crust. Our server was excellent and kept us more than satisfied. The atmosphere is of course 18th century in decor with costumed staff and candlelight. There is also light period entertainment strolling from room to room. A very enjoyable evening.

Food was good, but not up to pare with the price. My husbands seafood pie was excellent, my steak however was not so great and there really wasn’t any veggies or potato with it. We ordered chocolate ice cream and it definitely was old. I assume not many people order it. We have eaten there pre-Covid and food was much better. I realize we are all struggling with finding help and quality food. So I do recommend dining here for the experience.

The food was delicious and flawlessly prepared. Our server was friendly and attentive, taking time to explain some of the less familiar menu items and their historical relevance. We enjoyed one the tavern’s specialty rum punches before dinner, along with delightful muffins served with honey butter. Our entrees were served with Virginia spoon bread.
The atmosphere was charming, the room we dined in was entirely illuminated by candlelight. We dined before embarking on the Colonial Williamsburg haunted walking tour and enjoyed the perfect evening.
