Dining by candlelight provides an authentic experience, however it didn't showcase the colorful vegetables that accompanied my crab cakes. Food was well prepared and beautifully presented. Our server was excellent.

A very nice colonial atmosphere; however, the menu selection was very limited and the food was mediocre. While we used to frequent the establishment regularly, given the limited menu, quality of food, and the price does not warrant returning.

Authentic Colonial Cuisine. The delicious dishes were served by waitresses dressed in colonial attire. There was also a musician who walked around and played a guitar and recorder. The ambiance and food were 5 star.

My wife had the fried chicken with ham and I had the fish pie stew. Both were outstanding. Our server was excellent and very entertaining. The minstrel adds a unique touch to the dining experience. Can’t comment on the dessert, we were too full from our meals. Not our first time at Christiana Campbells and won’t be our last.

Our party of six really enjoyed this experience. Allow ample time—our meal was well-paced and we were there about 2 hours. Food was delicious and our server was great. The musician was a nice touch.

This was a fun experience in a colonial era environment, with waitresses in period dress and live acoustical guitar and recorder. Very friendly staff. Delicious mini muffins were provided to start, and spoon bread with the meal, also delicious. However we did not enjoy the main course as much as we expected based on the price and recommendations. The fried chicken was very small and not too tender. The crab cakes were not made with lump or backfin and were very bland., and both were very expensive. The vegetable mix was tasty.

The seafood pie was so salty as to be almost inedible (and I was hungry!). The stuffed oysters were nondescript and disappointing. The server was perfunctory, with little personality. Seems like the place revolves on a nightly “routine”, which leaves much to be desired. I will not recommend or be back.

The traditional ambiance from years past was greatly diminished by packing in more tables, making the room very loud. I could not carry on a conversation with my husband across from me.

Christiana Campbells is one of the best restaurants to enjoy a dinner with loved ones. This was the second time my wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was worth it. The food was absolutely amazing, the servers did an incredible job very polite and professional. Plus really enjoyed the entertainment singing songs dating back 500 years. Thank you to Christiana Campbells chefs and staff for an excellent meal and celebration night. Looking forward to coming back again.

This was a great experience. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary while visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Food was amazing and service was outstanding. You will definitely need to get a reservation in advance.

Parking lot was not lit. All of our dishes were $45-$49 and were very overpriced for the quality and amount of food. We ordered the Seafood Pye and it was extremely salty and the portion was so small we were still hungry. My daughter ordered the Butter Crabs and it was not tasty and the vegetables were underdone. She didn’t even eat the whole dish. Her partner ordered the steak and it was a NY strip. For $49 I felt like it should have been a better quality of cut like ribeye. I would not recommend this restaurant.

This place is an all around experience! The menu has descriptions from original recipies of the period. Combine with that the period dress, environment, and even entertainment, and you have a cant-miss moment during your Williamsburg trip.

We went here with our children for our last night in Williamsburg and it was lovely. Our server was so wonderful with the children and the food was delicious. It was wonderful to have a meal in such a historic place.

We had a great time. Alexis was our waitress and she was great. We told her it was our anniversary and she brought us a card signed by the staff. Food was really good and the setting was really nice. If we come back to Williamsburg we’ll definitely eat here again

This was a once in a lifetime experience! It was like going back in time to Williamsburg in 1700s. All the wait staff were dressed impeccably for the era. Our waiter was excellent in every way. The food was incredible. We had A Seafood Pye, Lump Crabmeat and A Crabcake. We ate every morsel! In addition to those, we had delicious sweet potato muffins and spoon bread that were really good. There was a ‘wandering minstrel’ who sang us some great songs while playing the guitar. He was very entertaining with his humorous tales and smooth voice.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The fish pye was very tasty. The servers in period costumes and the musician playing 18th century music added to the colonial ambiance. The restaurant had been recommended by our daughter, and I will recommend it as well to anyone traveling to Williamsburg.

Eating in a period tavern is a great experience when visiting Colonial Williamsburg. If you enjoy lobster, the side of the lobster tail is a must. Delicious, buttery texture. The sweet potato muffins were a definite plus with the salad. Good fried chicken. The only detail that was a little off putting was the rushed service. Guests are seated in one of the smallish rooms until the tables are filled, then the next room is seated. Taking the orders felt rushed. As each course was served it felt rushed.

Seafood pie was fantastic, hoe cakes were very good, steak was quite over cooked. Potato dumplings were tender and delicous. The performer truly elevated the ambience. Service was the issue however. Our waitress went from funny and gracious to irritated and snippy and back again. We were patient and when I raised my hand so she could easily see me - after trying in vain to her her attention more subtly several times- she made a face at me and snapped “I’m coming right at you now”…as though I could intuit where she was headed. On another trip to our table, When she asked is there anything else, one of the twelve year olds in our party said he was still waiting in his drink. She didn’t hear him and was clearly irritated when she asked him to repeat himself so he did and when she still don’t hear I calmly repeated what he’d said and she snapped that she had to go all the way downstairs for that and that she hadn’t forgotten and couldn’t do everything at once. We were simply answering her question and her response was off putting. We stayed calm, said we understood and she seemed to realize she’d been rude and try to correct by making small talk on future trips to our table but it was definitely a damper on our experience and she never apolgized. When leaving we asked for directions and asked if we’d be ok to walk as it was too late for shuttles. They assured us it was fine. Well it was 9 pm and they sent us off, 3 women and 3 twelve year olds, on the road they advised we take, which quickly became one with no sidewalk, walking in a grassy ditch and crossing what was essentially a highway. After a nasty fall we made it to another local business and called an Uber. The driver was puzzled why they would ever have told us we could walk from there and we now had a minor injury to deal with. Not their fault we fell of course but for a tourist based attraction I think they could be expected to give better info about walkability.

We had a wonderful dinner at your tavern! The service was delightful with Alexa! The food was out of this world. The sea food Pye was one of the best meals I have ever eaten!! And dessert, my goodness, it can’t get any fresher, hot apple pie right out of the oven, I am salivating just recalling the mouth watering flavors!! The live fiddle and penny whistle was perfect for the atmosphere! Thank you for a most memorable evening!

It was so fun being in such a historic tavern. Our waitress was amazing and also fun. You must have the green pease soup. Our entrees were a little underwhelming - beautiful presentation thiugh. We are used to crabs from the Pacific Northwest which I think have more flavor - these were so mild and just seemed they needed a bit more something. A dash of lemon helped though.

The menu is heavy on seafood, so if you don't like seafood this might not be the place for you. Still, the steak was very good and cooked exactly right. The entertainment was a man playing guitar and singing songs of the period. He was fun to listen to and gave a few historical tidbits as well. And since he wandered from room to room it wasn't a distraction from the meal and the company. The food was tasty and prepared well. The service was excellent. Prices are a bit expensive for this to be a regular place to visit, but as a special evening it's a great choice.

Excellent atmosphere and interesting menu. Fried chicken was great. Crab cakes however were very average at best with a mushy texture and too much breading We were first to be seated in the room and service felt rushed with fast talking and abrupt departure of server who probably had too many to serve. The parking lot is much appreciated but really poorly lit. Walk carefully.
