It was chilly and windy. We wanted to sit next to the wall to block the wind. The host was not accommodating saying there were reservations. Our waitress allowed us to move and provided excellent service. There was never a need for these tables while we were there.
Our charming server was patient with our non stop talking to each other instead of preparing our orders. So professional and so good!
The food was very good, waiter was excellent. Chairs were kind of hard and cold. I thought it was rather pricey. $238 for 4 people!
Despite COVID restricting us to eating outside, the server was excellent. We eaten here before and enjoyed it. We tried the veal stew this time and it was outstanding.
Great outside dining with good service and food. Always a perfect choice for dinner
Fun place. Service is a bit slow but it doesn't really matter. Food in general is great but salads are a bit skimpy.
Wonderful server, we sat outside in the “street” scene under an umbrella on a beautiful day with a bottle of lovely Sancerre. My guest had roasted chicken and I had the salade nicoise. My salade was very adequate but not exquisite. The tuna was a bit overdone (barely pink) and the greens, tomatoes, green beans and potatoes unimaginative. That said it wa enjoyable and we I will try it again as things get more “normal.”
We dined outside in a parklet which was very sweet. The atmosphere was intimate. We had the Boeuf Bourgignon (beef stew); it was yummy. The mussels were excellent. The salads were delicious.
The waiters were kind, expedient, and happy. The overall event was charming!
The food was LOVELY but the dining atmosphere wasn’t the most charming. Worth it though!
As always the food and service (if a bit slow due to the crowds) we’re excellent and the staff gave us plenty of time to enjoy our food and the nice weather in a style reminiscent of that of restaurants in Paris. A very civilized and delightful way to spend a nice summer afternoon!
Delicious food, excellent service; was good to bring young grandchildren.
Were great to accomodate us in adding one person, at the last minute, to our reservation.
Food was good but not great had beef bourguignon and home cooked pot roast is better
Good Niciose salad
Love the large outdoor capacity! It was a very enjoyable early Father's Day lunch spot.
They gave us blankets because it was cold
Friendly service and nice location, but food was oddly mediocre. Seems like with just a little more effort the food could be much better. Still, fine for a glass of wine and a little something to eat in the neighborhood.
Great little French spot in SF! Good brunch items.
The quiche was delicious however not hot. The onion soup fantastic!
The service was realllllly bad. Clearly not enough staff in the kitchen or serving. 2 hours to serve lunch
Excellent food, though the restaurant was a bit run-down and not quite the posh, high-end experience we were expecting.
Pandemic dining in the street, and wonderful attention, cuisine, and experience. Our waiter was on top of every need, kind, genuine..and the food was great.
Full sun, views of trees and people shopping on Fillmore and delicious French food. How lucky we are to have Chouquet in our neighborhood 🌟🍷🌟🍷🌟🍷🌟🍷🌟🍷🌟
I'd skip the burger. I usually get the quiche, but from time to time, I have their burger. It's not very pretty but I've always said it tastes better than it looks. This time, not so much. I'll avoid in the future.
This is a great spot for outdoor eating since they've taken over the street.
Food was excellent - esp. the gazpacho - and many dishes very innovative. The outside dining not great as it got quite cold when the wind came up.
The restaurant needs more standing heaters in their parklet. We could not feel any heat coming from the mounted heater and it was quite cold.
We celebrated my daughter's birthday outside. Had a nice outside table away from others. Food good as always and the service was great. It was the last place we ate in SF before shutdown and the first place we ate in SF at opening. Wonderful to have oysters and duck again. Thank you for still being there. You've been part of our family's special occasions for years.
We had a great lunch outside in the sun, the service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. DefiniteLy recommend it for a casual get together with friends.
Food outstanding. Covid set up on closed street was cool.
We got a nice outdoor table out of the wind and the food was quick and good. I had the mussels which were large and tasty (although I’ve had better broth elsewhere.)
My only issue was with the bill. A 20% service charge was added for a large party of 6, but when I went to pay thru the app it first showed to add a tip, which I did.
Since I hadn’t bothered to review the bill in the darkness outside I ended up tipping on top of the service charge. I thought that setup was a bit deceitful.
I’ve considered getting the charge reversed on the card but my wife says to let it go since it’s already been paid out to the staff.
Beautiful day and started with a beautiful meal
We usually love Chouquet and live 5 blocks away so we walk up often. Unfortunately this was the worst food we’ve ever had here except the French onion soup. Must’ve been someone different in the kitchen.
We sat outside. The food was delicious. The staff seems short-handed and a little overwhelmed at times. Some requests were mixed up. But all that could be overlooked because the food was so good. Highly recommend the Tuna Poke!
We enjoyed Sunday brunch sharing a nicoise salad and smoked salmon Benedict. The food was very good and service excellent. Outdoor dining is always a plus. Have reservations on Sunday. We saw people turned away.
poor service, not a great experience. will most likely not go back
Delicious food, awesome service on a beautiful day!
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Mark’s knowledge of one gracious service made for enjoyable evening
Service was excellent - friendly, informative. Food was seasoned very well, tasty; well prepared. Certainly will be back
Chouquet’s is always a delight— it makes for a special occasion. The staff is attentive and the food is outstanding. The outdoor “street patio” is sunny and sheltered from the wind. Plus they’re very dog friendly and always have treats for our pup.
Wouldn’t recommend the outdoor dining (given CoVid) - not warm enough even with the heaters (despite us having jackets and scarves on).
On a corner in Pacific Heights, all outdoors (bring a coat) and COVID aware. Menu was wonderful, food was great.
Outside is a challenge for service. Our server pulled it off with good humor, help from other staff, and "the passthrough window" to move drinks from the bar to the table.
Adding to my list of choices for lunch in the afternoon!
Excellent service and every app/entree was delicious!
