Chima Steakhouse - Philadelphia
The food was very good (some of the rodizio was fantastic). However, the salad bar and side dishes were hit or miss. Our waitress was excellent. Unfortunately, they severely overbooked the restaurant. We had to wait nearly 30 minutes past our reservation time. There was such a crowd waiting by the entrance that it was definitely a fire hazard.
When we arrived the was well over 100 people waiting in a small waiting area. The woman checking people in told us we were going to have a wait due to over 1000 people with reservations for dinner. I do not feel the restaurant took people’s safety and comfort into consideration when pulling all these people into one area at the same time. I don’t as pushed stepped on and hit with the door while waiting. No apology from management the woman at the front had an attitude as if to say if you don’t like it cancel leave. This is not what I expected and was very disappointed.
Girl's night out, first time for all of us. We was not prepared Lol. Service was outstanding, very friendly and attentive staff. Food was very very tasty. Will certainly return.
This was my first time here and it did not disappoint. We were seated right at our reservation time. The ambiance was nice and the staff was very friendly and informative. The food was excellent as well. I will definitely be coming back here!
Awesome birthday dinner!
The food was amazingly tasty and the service was grand!! One of my favorite places to dine!!
I love chimas! Everything was delicious Nick was and awesome waiter he kept our wine glasses full! Planning on coming back real soon!
We went for Restaurant Week. We got great value for our money. Our servers, Madison and Jonas, were fantastic. They were attentive without hovering. The meat servers were very attentive as well. I would definitely go back and would certainly recommend it to friends.
Chima has excellent food, service, and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend
I am comparing this Chima to the one I ate at recently in Fort Lauderdale. The service was terrible, they never came to take plates away, I had to ask.
I had to ask for meat, in Fort Lauderdale they just kept coming. There is a system of turning over a paper coin to tell them to either come by or no thanks. Even when I wanted them to come by there didn’t seem to be anyone available with meat. Chicken is what they were bringing often.
I did not have dessert in Fort Lauderdale so I cannot compare. However, the chocolate cake was dense, dry. Needed ice cream or whipped cream for moisture.
The salad bar was the best part - excellent. Although several of the Dishes were mislabeled.
In Philadelphia I went during restaurant week. OpenTable said $35 for dinner. When I called Chima I asked them Specifically if that was for their typical dinner menu. They said yes – it is not. They were charging 49.95 for their typical dinner menu serving all meats. I was disappointed.
I live across the street, I will not go back there for dinner. Their happy hour is worth it.
Always a good time when we go. The cheese bread and turkey spread are delicious as well as every cut of meat.
It was my girlfriend’s 25th birthday. The atmosphere was great. The waiter was very friendly and professional. Overall, the cooks and the rest of the team well all great. Super respectful and friendly.
Service was great , food was amazing definitely will be back again .
Just tremendous. From the greeting by the host team, to the service throughout my meal... and of course the food! I manage restaurants for my career, and was humbled by this experience. Bravo!
A different and cool experience. Highly recommend!
So much better than Fogo!
Pretty good service. Food was okay, but not the hype that everyone was talking about. A bit on the salty side, but good proportions and wide variety.
I was very disappointed this time with the service. It was restaurant week and I understand that the restaurant was busy, but we had reservations that were not honored. We got a table almost 30 minutes after our reserved time and they were not even apologetic about their utterly lateness.
Great food, a very fun and delicious spot to celebrate a young adult's birthday (family with 2 adult young men). The food was very fresh, delicious and the service from our table server to the individual people coming around to the table to refresh our water, sides and meat choices were terrific. We returned after a first experience that was very fun, festive and delicious and this visit did not disappoint.
We absolutely enjoyed ourselves. The waiter was extremely attentive to our table & even made recommendations that were helpful.
flank steak was awesome! just wasn't a fan of the salad bar too much.
When it’s restaurant week they treat you like you’re Basic Economy. The food was good though.
We had a great experience at Chima’s! Excellent service and food!
This was my second time at Chima's. My lady and I have always enjoyed the restaurant. We have suggested it to both friends and family to try. Thank You for a nice experience. The food and the service was excellent
The atmosphere was energetic and the service was excellent. My servers were helpful and very friendly. The food was delicious.
Great experience as usual. We did not notice it was restaurant week or else we would have avoid going, but overall experience is still good.
I hate to be the bearer of “not good” news again regarding my recent visit to Chima’s Restaurant; however, this visit again on Sunday, January 19th proved to be not up to the standards that I had become accustomed to (and expected) from Chima’s, which was disappointing even more so this time, as I thought the last time was just a rare mishap.
My party of five was really frustrated with the service. We experienced long delays in having food brought to our table and when it was brought to our table, the servers seemed to be misguided in who should get what food, as there were two people who purchased the $49.90 deal and three who purchased the $35.00 deal. In some cases, food was offered that was not on the menu for a particular deal and in other cases, food was skipped to those who should have received it - keep in mind that our chips were turned up for service. There definitely appeared to be a shortage of servers serving the food. On three occasions, we had to ask our waitress and her backup to send the servers to our table. The first time of our request, our waitress even commented that she had noticed that no servers had been to our table. Her backup appeared to make an excuse that they were probably getting the food well done - even though we all were not getting our food well done.
We were there at 1:00 pm and it was not crowded - there were empty tables throughout the restaurant - so why it was taking so long to get food to our table was questionable. This was very frustrating to all of us, as we are not new to Chima’s. We all have been here previously and have experienced Chima’s at its best so we know when it is at its worst. This is the place we look forward to coming to as a group and enjoying a great meal, service and the ambiance of the restaurant. I, myself have been a long-time visitor to Chima’s and consistently get new people to come so they can enjoy a great experience. I think it is important to share the good news and the bad
Excellent food and service. Drinks were very good as well.
First time bringing the family in for dinner. We usually like to experience different food with our kids. Thought it'll be fun for the kids to experience something more fancy. Food was amazing. Kids loved the salad bar & the service was amazing. We'll be back!
The salmon man was playing. The rotation of food was off because other tables got the better pickings before us. After a while it was a little over whelming with al the options but that didn’t stop us from eating. Everyone is nice and personable. The atmosphere is great
This was my fourth time coming to Chima, I came here this time because my friend wanted to check it out. We both had a great time, the food was amazing (as it always is), and the service was great. Overall, my friend fell in love with Chima, and we both cant wait to come back!
This place has gone down. It was loud, messy, and unorganized. The front desk seemed to be run by teenagers and trainees. The waiter would offer to pour my wine and then leave the table forgetting to do it. The food was good, but we had to keep flagging for them to come to our table
Went during restaurant week which is probably why we had an hour wait even tho we made reservations. Food was great. Employees were great. Spacious so you aren’t bumping into people because the tables are too close together. That wasn’t the case. Awesome salad bar.
Since this is Restaurant week it was very crowded and noisy. We sat in a nice corner but the waiters forgot half the time we was over there. But over all we had a wonderful time and the service was good. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone.
First of all, we were supposed to get 7 different types of meats, we only had 4. We asked management about the other 3 meats and he stated that they didn’t have all of the meats that day. What a joke. They didn’t offer us a discount- a credit or anything. Not to mention we had a birthday party of 6. I will not be going back to Chima’s nor referring them to anyone.
Great establishment! Great food, great decor & ambiance, and great service! Consistently high level of service and cuisine every time I go. My favorite date night restaurant!
Restaurant week Friday night very busy salad bar drinks an meats were all delicious ver pleased
It was very packed when we arrived in the lobby. They left us know the wait time would be 20 mins, it was shorter than that. For the place to be so full the service was still amazing. Henry and Ashley were out waiters and they did a phenomenal job.
Yes but I would refer a younger age group . I feel that a younger age group would have enjoyed it more.
