A True Hidden Gem in Chicago
We had an incredible dining experience at Saigon Sisters—a cozy, family-owned Vietnamese restaurant tucked along the Chicago “L” with charming city views and an inviting ambiance.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Dan, the owner, along with Phoebe and Harley, who made us feel right at home. The service was seamless, friendly, and full of grace.
We started with the Pork Belly Spring Rolls—crispy, flavorful, and served with a perfectly balanced nuoc cham dipping sauce. The Bun Bo Hue, thoughtfully split for us, was rich and deeply satisfying—instantly bringing back memories of Hanoi.
Next came the Vietnamese Crispy Duck with their signature plum sauce—tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The Whole Branzino was a standout—perfectly cooked and one of the best fish dishes we’ve ever had, even compared to our travels in Vietnam. We also tried the Bo Luc Lac (shaking beef), which was incredibly tender, and the BBQ Eggplant, full of smoky, comforting flavor.
The wine list was accessible, well-priced, and paired beautifully with our meal. We ended the evening with Chef Mary’s housemade durian ice cream—hands down the best durian dessert we’ve ever had.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Saigon Sisters. This place is a must-try for anyone looking for elevated Vietnamese cuisine in Chicago. We’ll absolutely be back!
