GREAT SERVICE, QUALITY FOOD, GOOD WINES, DESSERTS ARE OK....
This charming restaurant is the perfect place to eat when visiting Coronado. The atmosphere is beach cottagey, casual and formal, friendly and romantic. Everything I've ever ordered has been delicious.
The setting is wonderful as was the meal and service. Parking is a bit of a problem but that is to be expected in Coronado.
Had a lovely time with excellent service, delicious food and satisfying wine list.
Great for foodies, Nice atmosphere great place to take a date or impress.
Great food and cozy atmosphere. Good for romantic evening couples etc.
Chez Loma is a neighborhood gem. Atmosphere is lovely, food and service top notch. Our favorite dinner spot in Coronado.
The staff clearly have issues with one another and it makes going there uncomfortable
We've been here many times and love the food, service and intimacy of the restaurant.
It's unique and charming ambiance with great food. Nice spot for couples
Wow. Everything perfect. Quaint, quiet and delicious. Fabulous waitstaff and bartender. Wonderful timing of food and beverages. Wished we had time to have a second dinner here. We loved it!
quaint atmosphere but the wait is questionable for the hit/miss service and tight seating arrangements, just for a brunch or nice outdoor lunch. Would not rate this as a top 10 must refer friends or out of town family and guests to. Of course not unless its a narcissistic colleague into selfies and social media.
French Onion Soup tasted like it was made with vinegar. Service was good, but food was terrible!
The venue itself is incredibly tiny and it felt as though we were elbowing our neighbors throughout dinner. The steak and fries were lovely, however, the red wine pears were terribly bitter.
An outstanding special occasion restaurant!! Great French food!
We have actually been eating at Chez Loma for the past 40 years. It is our anniversary spot. We arrived on Sunday, Feb 24 for a 6 pm reservation. Granted it was Oscar night so the place was not very busy. By 8 pm we were the only ones there. By 8:20 the wait staff dimmed the lights in a not so subtle way to tell us to move on. We did. But really. We would expect a bit more class from this special place.
The service was amazing and our server was so incredible.
Beautiful place and awesome food !
Nice service as well
The place is attractive and lively, and the service good. The server told us that we could have happy hour wine prices at a dining table, which was very nice. But the food was overpriced--by about $10 per entree, and about 50% for salads and appetizers. Our point of comparison is Le Diplomate, the flagship French restaurant in Washington DC, which is not much more expensive but has much better food, and more of it. Our country pate was good, although the bread was very hard, with a tiny portion of butter. But the steak frites seemed to consist of hacked-off bits of beef from different cuts of meat. Some bits were tough, while others were so tough that they could not be cut, let alone eaten. We ate here many years ago and it was much, much better. We will not be going back
Made use of a $100 gift card. Food was excellent. Plating was bistro style, nothing special. Service was also excellent. Our table was located in a high traffic area and this after choosing a 3rd table alternative.
Everything was just lovely. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.
I love Chez Loma!! We've been going there for four years now for special occasions and for date nights. It can be romantic or relaxed which is nice. The food is always great and the service is too!
An excellent place for a great meal. Good food, attentive service and lovely ambiance.
The absolute best restaurant in Coronado with unparalleled service.
A great experience
Nice Brunch.
WE HAD DINNER ATTHIS HIDDEN GEM AND LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT !!
We went to Chez Loma for New Year's Eve dinner (Dec 31, 2019). We went there for dinner on New Years Eve in 2018 also. However, our experience was quite different on the two occasions. We enjoyed the dinner in 2018; the room was romantically lit, food was excellent and our waiter was excellent. This time, the room was brightly lit, mostly empty, and the waiter seemed in a hurry all through the meal. There was a shorter menu (as there had been in 2018). The prices had been raised (which we expected for New Years Eve dinner) but there was nothing to mark the occasion at all. It might as well have been a regular dinner - but at much higher prices. The food was so-so, not up to its usual quality. We were disappointed. We'll go back to Chez Loma again - it's very convenient if you have a play at the Lamb's Players Theatre afterwards - but we won't book in again for New Years. We would have had a much better dinner - at regular prices - at Tartine Bistro down at Ferry Landing.
Excellent food and Service. Waiter balanced attention without rushing. Real Treat.
French cuisine at its best. Fantastic value!
Authentic setting. Almost France.
Excellent experience Sabrina was a true delight, service was perfect.
When we stay overnight in Coronado Chez Loma is our first choice for a romantic dinner. We have never been disappointed in our dining experience here. The rack of lamb was perfect, onion soup and escargot good start and our server, Sabrina helped us with the wine selection that was excellent. We are from the central coast and there is a High Valley Eruption Red Blend at a good price. The special chocolate dessert was the perfect ending.
This restaurant is outstanding. The appetizer was excellent, but it was the main course we had, Duck a l'Orange, that was truly remarkable. The restaurant is in a converted house , with small serving rooms, as well as a bar where one can eat. We found the atmosphere to be perfect and everything to be wonderful.
Quaint and charming. Food delicious. Cozy and great for specific occasions
Gran servicio, comida excelente y la casa es fantástica!
Lamb chops were fatty with little meat. Requested medium but served rare. Steak was good and creme brulee excellent.,
Chez Loma is one of our favorite restaurants whenever we go to Coronado which is at least 6 times a year. The food is extraordinary as is the treatment by the staff.
Really loved the food. The service left a lot to be desired. Very little attention given. Still, whoever is cooking in the back knows what they are doing.
Cozy and beautiful as if you are dining in someone’s home. Fresh red roses, wonderful French bistro style food. High quality and reasonable prices. Highly recommend!
Great food and service, will be back.
