We ate there for the first time while vacationing in Coronado. Everything was a 10 - the food, waitress, atmosphere, noise level, you name it. Definitely going back!
We enjoyed Sunday Brunch at Chez Loma and liked the variety of menu selections. The dishes we ordered were delicious and prepared perfectly. While not crowded when we dined, the service was reasonable and we were not constantly interrupted.
Birthday dinner for my wife
An old favorite that will never disappoint. Great discount deal for early birds 5 to 6 pm.
Sisters trip gathering. So much fun and beautiful food.
Outstanding meal - just the right service level. Nice to be able to have a conversation with dinner - just the right noise level and background music -homey!
Impromptu lunch with family. Delicious, inviting, relaxing
Our server Sabrina was attentive & personable from the start! It is a charming restaurant off Orange in the center of Coronado located in a quaint older house. Our dinners were beautifully presented and delicious! Our party of four sampled the beet salad & French onion soup, coq au vin, peppered filet mignon and duck a la orange. Prepared martinis and wine and desserts - including a gingerbread with caramel sauce were perfect! A lovely dining experience! We will return.
Chez Loma is a great place for a date or quiet dinner. It is set in a historic house with a main seating area and various nooks and some smaller rooms with a few tables. White tablecloths and quiet. There is a bar out front, which is a bit more casual and volume is a bit higher. This is more of an upscale place in terms of clientele (read: not a drunken party spot, but not full of old folks either). Their prices are on the higher end, but moderate for the high quality of food. Wine list is limited but good picks are on it. Service is great, friendly, without being too proud of themselves. I only go there every several years because it is far from where I live, but it has been CONSISTENTLY excellent, which is no easy feat in the restaurant business.
Overall the restaurant had everything I like: crisp white table clothes, quaint rooms in an old house, good service and a decent menu, albeit a little classical. Unfortunately, the food while good just wasn’t anything to rave about. Execution by the chef was just lacking.
What a great setting for an intimate dinner with friends. We loved the European charm. The food was good, priced a little high, but justifiable for the ambiance. We would come back for the right occasion.
Everything was amazing as usual, especially the outstanding service from Sabrina.
We highly recommend Chez Loma
We love this place! I cannot believe I’ve lived in San Diego for so long and not discovered this little gem! Dinner or brunch it is AMAZING!!
We were dining for Easter Brunch. Food was excellent. Very fresh and wonderful flavors. Wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely dine here again.
Great menu, very French feel right there on Coronado. The duck was outstanding - very tender. The Chilean sea bass was amazing. Nice wine selection, and good service. Perfect for my anniversary dinner with the most incredible woman in the world!
Beautiful site, relaxed atmosphere and great food.
Don’t know how I have overlooked this quaint little gem! Food was delicious and our server Sabrina was knowledgeable, entertaining and professional. We will definitely be back.
Un pequeño restaurante en la zona central de Coronado, el bar a la entrada te invita a llegar temprano para un buen trago, este lugar tiene buena comida excelente servicio y a buen precio
Chez Loma is a neighborhood gem. It's warm and friendly and the staff makes every dinner feel special. The bar area is lively and very inviting. The dining rooms have character and are quiet enough to enjoy a conversation. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion. It has a very loyal following.
Authentic and awesome French food. Truly delicious and great ambience.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back.
Me encanto. El servicio y la comida de lo mejor y el Rest lindisimo
Chez Loma has -- and has had for decades -- a traditional continental or French menu. Chez Loma serves this cuisine very well, with a friendly staff, at a reasonable price - reasonable considering the menu and the location - in a large historic house in an picturesque neighborhood near Orange Avenue in Coronado. We enjoyed excellent foie gras and rack of lamb, fine coq au vin and creme brulee. Choosing wine and entree provide a challenge -- everything is good -- every possibility works. Service is friendly, not haughty, although I did note our waitperson effortlessly conversed with a French-speaking customer -- we were seated in a small room with several other tables -- not alone, but great for conversation.
We love to eat here just before attending the play at Lamb's Theater. Always a wonderful evening.
Cheryl in the bar is always great!!! Food is excellent!!!!
Enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Chez Loma before the Lamb’s Players show. The prix fixe menu delivers! Wonderful food. Great service. Highly recommended.
We requested to sit with the view on street level, they sat us in the restaurant with a great view of street and open bar. Our waitress was new, very pleasant, food knowledgeable and took 4 patrons orders from appetizers, salad, first course and wine without writing it out. Impressive! Great service and our food was delicious! Try duck tacos, beef Bourgogne and seafood bouillabaisse!
Wonderful food and a great value, especially the salmon with the mysterious sauce beneath. And don't even get me started on the mousse----
We usually go to Chez Loma before seeing a play or musical at the Lambs Players Theatre. My husband likes the boeuf bourguignon and reported it was good as always. I usually have the duck but this time it was sauced with orange rather than the usual cherry sauce so I opted for bouillabaisse instead. The fish stew wasn't as good as I expected - had potatoes for some reason and a lot of them - I would have preferred more fish and less potatoes. Would probably not order this dish again. The bouillabaisse at Tartine Bistro is much better.
This was our first time to the restaurant, and we loved it! The food, service, and ambiance was inviting, quaint, and delicious. We will enjoy again when in Coronado and refer friends to this lovely place. We enjoyed the prize fix menu from 5-6 PM for $31.
Great place, reminded us of Paris.
Great place! Love Cheryl, best bartender in Coronado! Highly recommended.
The Chez Loma visit is always a teat as was this last visit. We enjoy their wine menu choices and their rose wine. Eggs Benedict is a standby and always tasty. I hop that once when I order mussels they will be available, I don’t know if it is a supply or seasonal issue, but this place has the best ever mussels I’ve ever eaten, but recently they’ve been unavailable. Service is always polite and attentative. I ended up with the steak and frites which both were tasty and nicely prepared.
I dined at Chez Loma when visiting Coronado last year with my daughter who is a French teacher. We both loved it! This year a daughter-in-law arrived for a few days and I knew I would have to take her to Chez Loma also. We both had the rack of lamb, as was the choice last year. It was every bit as good as previously and my guest was delighted with our dining experience as well. It is a bit spendy, but certainly worth it for a special guest or occasion!
Excellent meal of Chilean Sea Bass. Michael, our waiter, was patient and knowledgeable.
I've been dining here for several years and the chef is excellent and extremely consistent. All he needs to do is have a more varied menu, not the same thing ALL THE TIME!
Please get a little creative and add a few specials each week, we'd love to try them.
We'd also go to your restaurant more often if we knew that something fresh and new might be on the menu... but it's usually just the regular menu. By the Way, Your regular items are amazing and always excellent, don't get me wrong. I know I can always bring guests there and it will be superb, however, we like a little culinary adventure once in a while. Please, Chef, figure it out.
Our all time favorite restaurant in San Diego! Menu, hospitality and ambiance make this gem sparkle.
We enjoy the ambiance of Chez Loma especially on the porch. The bar tender Cheryl served us a fabulous tasting champagne cocktail of her own recipe. Eggs Benedict are always a staple tasting good and spicy hollandaise. The Mexican dish was bathed in delicious mole sauce and salad toppings. We enjoy the weekend brunches and occasionally the evening dinners, good value dining before 6:00 p.m.
My wife and I really enjoyed Chez Loma very much. The atmosphere and service really helped make our anniversary great. Thank you!
Just a overall great place and food is incredible. Must go place if in the area.
